I think this happens to all brands that get bought by bigger corporations. They lose their essence, their soul, they're made to fit the mainstream... But yeah, this is normal. It becomes about profit, and the biggest profit comes from pleasing the masses ~ not from being unique and daring.
You are spot on! I am probably completely wrong about L'Oréal making less profit from the fragrances than Clarins. Cutting down on the lines and launching safe fragrances will probably be making them far more. Thanks for watching 🥰
My childhood best friend's mom, I'm not 100% sure, but smelled like she wore Angel. I loved it, and was like 10. Then my high school gf wore it. Hers was for sure Angel, I remember the name to this day. I've never really smelt a better scent for women to this day. Been 30 years, nothing beats it. But then again, it discontinued, so I cannot be 100% sure.
Angel is very striking for sure, so so different to everything else! Angel EDP isn't discontinued, but it's been reformulated a little, did you smell a recent bottle? It used to be nuclear, a smell me before you see me kind of perfume, but nowadays it's quieter. 🥰
Angel Nova is happy 😊 fluorescent almost! I think it's fun! I think Angel was groundbreaking, but it's not necessarily very now and it's certainly nothing like Angel Nova. I enjoy the vintage version but I can understand people not. Thanks for watching 🥰
Thank you for this video! It is very sad that L’Oreal abandoned what made Mugler such an edgy and stunning perfume house. I guess it is more profitable to reach the masses. I am team Angel since 20 years and I also LOVE Angel Muse and Alien Essence Absolue. I have a back up of those since I learnt they were discontinued. And even if the current Angel doesn’t smell like it used to, even if it is not very elegant… I just can’t leave it. It is my signature. Maybe one day I’ll consider reaching for a vintage bottle but I’m so scared to splurge in a fake one… Thanks again for your work, have a beautiful day 😘
Hello! Thank you ❤️ yes I know what you mean about fakes, but I'd say there are way more fake aliens than angels that are noticeable to me. It doesn't mean that they aren't still out there though. Angel is such a groundbreaking stunner! I can see why it would be your signature for so long and also why leaving it would be hard. I'm happy you have some backups of the others that you love! Thanks for watching 🥰
T.M. is definitely a superSTAR in the fashion world & fragcomm. , his work was revolutionary and extra ordinary... most of the Mugler frags r pretty unique and their bottles r fabulous, especially the women frags.. fab video, love the thumbnail so magnetic lol big up (y) ♥
Thank you! Yes, I'm not too sure how much I could make a video about any other brand than Mugler and that says a lot I think! They were just so interesting. Thanks for watching 🥰
Angel Nova is my favorite Mugler fragrance. I see a lot of comments and reviews online comparing Angel Nova to Carolina Herrera’s Very Good Girl and Delina. I purchased decants of the latter two and they smell nothing alike. Both VGG and Delina are missing the tea-like woody finish. I think Angel Nova is such a unique fragrance and I’m heartbroken it is being discontinued.
I thought it was but I wasn't sure. I'm sad about that. It's the last of the big impactful striking fragrances. I agree, Delina and Very Good Girl to me are different. Snap up the last of the bottles before it gets super expensive if you love it 👍 thanks for watching 🥰
Thanks for this video, I really enjoyed. I used to be an account manager for Mugler from 2016 until 2021 so I saw all the transition from Clarins to L'oreal. Aura is my favourite Mugler as well and it has become my favourite fragrance over all the ones in the market. The concept, the bottle, the add, the smell... Everything is so unique and beautiful. I really miss the Mugler Universe and I think L'oreal has so many different brands that Mugler has become a drop in their ocean. I'm glad I still have all the Mugler fragrance collection at home. The bottles are beautiful.
Wow!!! That must have been a hard time to experience. Aura was the complete package for sure and the most put together, developed and strongest concept at the point of release. Did you try the new Angel Fantasm? I was so hopeful but I wasn't a fan sadly. 🤦♀️
Great video. I love hearing ALL about fragrances. That includes the art behind them - the creators and their visions. Fragrance means so much more to me than how a perfume smells. To add: would LOVE to see Alien come back to it’s original originality
Brilliant idea to make the bottles refillable! Alas, the seemingly inevitable entropy of wonderfulness. Well,I'm not gonna cry because a great era is over. I choose to smile because it happened!
This was such an informative and wonderful video Claire. I’ve learned so much. I remember hating Angel Goddess at first mostly because it didn’t smell anything like I was expecting but a year later I smelled it and fell madly in love. It’s one of my favorites from the brand. I can respect the different direction the brand is taking.
Thank you! ❤️ Yes Alien Goddess is a pleasant fragrance, it's a scent profile that people love! You can't go wrong with vanilla and coconut, it's happy and sunny 😎
I wonder if they had decided to market nova as its own new fragrance and call it like something zodiac themed that starts with an A... would it have been recieved better by the mugler purists? They have yet to have a signature fruity type fragrance in their core lineup... Anyway another awesome video!
Thank you ❤️ I like Angel Nova 🙊 I think it's striking and along the lines of the original Mugler brand. I do think them calling it something different would have helped 😊
This was a wonderful short documentary. The House was ground breaking. Especially when you include the Men collection. I get excited when I see "Thierry" in front of Mugler to this day. Muse is my favorite. Glad I purchased refill bottles of alien absolute, muse and aura.
Another excellent history lesson for a true fragrance fan. I don’t hate the brand but I must say I was never drawn to it either. I guess I was too busy being a mother, careerist and student during its heyday. But, it definitely continues to be polarizing depending on if you are new to the brand or an OG fan of the original.
This is it! I think Mugler passed me by until I started to watch RUclips... And yes, your opinion on the changes will totally depend on when you came to the brand and whether you loved how they were or not. The new ones really aren't bad, they just aren't very different. Thanks for watching 🥰
Wonderful video! I've been wearing Angel for 22 years. I still love it, but it is different. The scents are less distinctive. I also loved Innocent. Plus, Angel has gotten really expensive. What used to be $160 a bottle is now $220 a bottle. The quality is much watered down. Sad.
Thank you ❤️ yes, sadly I've lost a lot of interest in Mugler of late. It really isn't what it once was, and yes it's expensive here too now. I have my vintage bottles of Angel and Alien that I treasure and wear sparingly...
I was a hard core Angel fan until L'Oréal took over (and partly because so many others had started wearing it). I bought Nova because it was the only thing that didn't smell of pure alcohol when I lost my smell due to covid. I did indeed wear it to the Barbie film though and now it's in my sell pile. 😂
another brilliant video, i could watch you all day! angel is my favourite perfume of all time bar none, or should i say it was before loreal ruined it. i smelled it on my best friends mum when i was 15 and was immediately hooked and it's been my signature ever since, much to said best friends lament as she absolutely loathes it especially the extra strong vintage formulas i wear with reckless abandon! i've always been an angel person but i did love alien as well until, you guessed it, the loreal takeover. i have a bottle of alien essence absolue that i still cherish to this day. womanity has been my signature summer daytime scent since 2013 and i was very pleasantly surprised to discover the bottle i bought last year hadn't been ruined by the loreal reformulation. this video has me recalling how lucky we were as thierry mugler fans back in the day, especially in the early 2010's when they would release absolutely brilliant flankers of all the pillar fragrances such as the leather line, the liqueur line and the taste of fragrance line! all strong as hell and as interesting as designer perfumery gets in my opinion. if you ever manage to track down any of these flankers for a good price then absolutely go for it, they're mostly long gone now but they were all just superb! thank you for another excellent informative video :) much love x x
Wow, if I could find the old flankers at a reasonable price I would be all over them! I was so happy to find a partial of Alien essence absolue recently at a price that wasn't astronomical, but that had taken years to find 🤣 I sadly came to the brand very late and it's something I feel I really missed the heyday of, I would have loved to have discovered them much earlier than I did. You sound like you are a truly OG fab of the brand. It's so sad what's happened to it. Thanks for your amazing comment and for watching ❤️ have a fab weekend 🥰
I have 4 favorites from them a few old & a few new. Angel EDP, Angel EDT, Alien, & Alien Goddess . So I disagree that they fell. I know L'Oreal took over & created the last few including Alien Goddess that people have issues with for whatever reason, but still love Alien Goddess & Angel EDT. I think Angel EDT is my favorite of theirs & probably 1 of my all time favorites.
I've only tried the Clarins 2019 version of the EDT, it's nice! Really appley and fresh, but with the Angel DNA. I didn't mind Alien Goddess when I first smelt it, but it's just not very Mugler I guess, it's not that out there, which is really what Mugler were about. Alien Goddess could have been made by Lancôme, it gets compared to lots of other coconut vanillas and it really has little to do with the original Alien. I think most old school Mugler fans were expecting something a little edgier maybe and something more Alien and that might have been part of the disappointment for them. Thanks for watching 🥰
I remember buying Angel Men when it came out (shortly thereafter renamed A*men) and I adored it. I have a couple A*men flankers, but don't wear them a lot. Really enjoyed the video!
Thank you! ❤️ I'm really happy that you enjoyed it 😊 I honestly don't know much about the male marketed lines at all 🙊 I tried Alien man Mirage but I think that might be it... I was really late, nearly too late, to Mugler. I would love to go back and discover the fragrances earlier on! I would love to try A*men. Thanks for watching, have a fab week 🥰
Still can't get over the fact that Alien Essence Absolue was discontinued. One of the most gorgeous amber-y fragrances I've ever worn. Also sad that Angel Muse was discontinued too ... Such a delicious fragrance for cold weather and I love the use of vetiver in it. And I had a bottle of Womanity. Sadly, it smelled weird and metallic on me, so I gave it away. From the bottle, though, it smelled so fresh and beachy! Wished it had worked better on my skin.
Yes! I've only just found an affordable partial bottle of Alien essence absolue, it took me ages to find! I'd had a sample and fallen in love. Angel Muse is really delicious 😋 Womanity can smell a very different on different people I think, that's probably why it's a bit love / hate. Thanks for watching 🥰
Excellent video! Alien is what first got me into perfumes, and Aura just set fire to my interest in Mugler. I'm currently slowly collecting th Alien flankers that have been discontinued. I agree that Womanity is on it's way out, it's quite cheaper as well than the others on Mugler site. I'm interested in what the Hypersense will be about, maybe they'll try to take some of the magic back, hopefully :)
Thank you ❤️ Mugler were indeed very special. I still love Alien and recently picked up some vintage bottles of it. 😊 Ooh which flankers do you have? I have a sample of Hypersense, I will put out a review this week. Thanks for watching 🥰
You know these recent jokes/memes that go like "should have bought a house in 2008 instead of being in 9th grade"? This is me, but with fragrances. I kind of wish I had been a bit older back in 2010-2012 (I think the reformulations began in 2012...?) cause I would have afforded to buy perfumes (mostly) in their original formulas. It so happened that the first fragrance from TM that I ever smelled was Angel, without knowing too much about it beforehand. I loved it. LOVED IT! Then I sampled Alien. Another love for me. Womanity and Aura, I really like them as well, though I don't find them as memorable as the first 2. Angel Muse is amazing and I'm so glad I managed to snatch a 50 ml bottle last year, even though I regret not buying a second bottle (didn't see it being discontinued). Angel Nova doesn't do anything for me, Elixir, I have a sample, haven't smelled yet. While I quite like both Alien Goddess and Goddess Intense, the reformulated Angel and Alien are not even close to their originals (I'm not talking about longevity and projection, I'm talking about the fragrance itself). One can give them to me for free and I would not use them. They're THAT different imo. I'll give them another chance in the winter, just to make sure, but hard to believe I'll have a change of heart. In terms of designer fragrance houses, Thierry Mugler went from being my favourite to being the biggest disappointment. So frustrating knowing these unique, daring, polarizing and even groundbreaking fragrances are gone for good... For me, the biggest blow was them basically cancelling the A*Men line. A*Men, Pure Havane, Pure Tonka...those were my absolute favourites 😭 And so many others I didn't even get the chance to sample (Pure Coffee, Pure Leather, Ultra Zest, B*Men...) (omg, so sorry for writing such a long comment... 🥲🤭 )
I would love to smell Pure Havane! That one has always intrigued me... Yes I know what you mean, that's totally how I feel. I came to the brand around the time of the l'Oréal takeover and I have that feeling of being just too late too. All those amazing fragrances were reasonably priced and widely available, and then poof! Gone! 😭 I remember thinking Nova smelt incredibly synthetic when I first smelt it and yes, it does, but at least it was a little off beat still. Alien Goddess was just so safe and yawn. If you smell it close up there's something grainy there too, I have no clue what that texture is but it's such a contrast to the smooth gorgeousness of the original Alien. I guess we all need to find a new favourite and remember the old fragrances fondly. Thanks for watching 🥰 have a fab weekend!
Thank you Claire for a very interesting video! When I started my perfume journey I was intrigued by the Mugler brand and I admit it took me awhile to acquire one. I’m always sniffing these at my local drug store out of pure curiosity even though I wouldn’t buy most of them. They are truly unique, and I believe they are very very different from other brands. I enjoy the creativity - I appreciate Mugler as a perfume artist. I have a bottle of Angel edt, as well as Alien Flora and Goddess Intense. I have to be in a particular mood to wear these, and a 50 ml bottle is enough for me. I do enjoy them very much. They are a unique addition to my collection. Have a great weekend!
Thank you ❤️ Yes! Unique! I remember trying Alien Flora Futura in store, that seems like a long long time ago... I agree, Mugler fragrances are a mood and not everyday for me either, but I did get totally hooked by just how off beat they were! Have a lovely weekend 🥰
Hi Claire, this was an awesome look at the history of Mugler. I think it's clear this fragrance house will never be the same. It's the same story with not just this brand but any house that gets bought up. The fragrances are changed and they become dull. I have the feeling that the best days for fragrance creation could be past, with all the restrictions on what can be used to make perfume. Perhaps niche and indie houses can keep some creativity in fragrance creation alive. Thanks for your video! 😊💛✨
Hi Jenn. I agree, I've been trying more indie recently and I've been so much more wowed than with designer and even some niche. I think I'm inclined to agree, people want instant success with fragrance now. Maybe it's social media's fault in a way? But I do wonder whether Angel would be that kind of slow burn success that it was if it had been launched today instead? Thanks for watching 🥰
I love their early products Angel, early Alien, Womanity and Angel Muse edp and edt. Products afterwards are more generic, though Alien goddes and Angel Nova are ok. Angel elixir is a shame. Womanity is among my few love for life fragrances.
Yes the early ones are the ones that broke the mould! So inventive and striking! I really quite like Angel Nova in a fun and fruity way and Womanity is a really lovely fragrance, although I didn't try the reformulation. Thanks for watching 🥰
I only got into perfume 3 or 4 years ago, and it took me a while to get around to try Alien. I was so sure I would hate it. It was an instant love for me. I am lucky to have gotten into fragrance when I did, as I was able to grab Eau Sublime, Eau Extraordinaire, Fusion, Mirage and Flora futura, all 3 Auras and Angel muse edt, before they became hard or nearly impossible to find. I even managed to get a refill of Eau Extraordinaire. I love Alien and all the flankers. While I do appreciate the newer Alien Goddess flankers, they are just not as unique or magical as the other Aliens. I love Mugler fragrances for their quality, amazing refillable bottles and how long lasting the fragrances are.
Wow, you were so lucky! I was a little too slow with some of them, and I've had a hard time hunting down Alien essence absolue but I found an affordable partial bottle eventually! Eau extraordinaire I already finished, I have mirage but that's it with the Aliens. I would love a bottle of Sublime. I agree, the new ones just have lost something that the others had. Thanks for watching and enjoy your stash of Aliens! 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume Thanks :) Alien essence absolue will forever be the one that got away from me. I am hoping one day to at least find an empty bottle of it for cheap, and then fill it with perfume made from a dupe oil.
👌 that's a good substitute, I've heard there are some great dupes for it out there and even a new Zara fragrance that is meant to be quite similar. I don't know though, I didn't try them.
I love your description about Aura 💚; to really bring out the rhubarb note try rubbing your wrists together, something i learnt from a Mugler sales assistant. I play notes smelling games with my young nephews and Aura always gets an interesting response as they associate rhubarb with crumble and custard.
Haha! I will try that! When I first got Aura I remember the rhubarb was the thing that hit me 😊 and wow! That is totally the vibe! Those sweets! Rhubarb and custard 👌 great description. ❤️
For a designer house, Mugler was definitely very different. I have travel sprays of Alien Goddess Intense and Angel, I enjoy both. I was lucky to pick up Womanity (I get mostly florals, not really caviar or fishiness) The bottle reminds me of H. R. Giger art. Wouldn't mind getting Nova and Aura (the sensuelle one is nice, but discontinued I think.)
They were! Love them or hate them, no one can say that the brand wasn't a little different! Alien Goddess Intense is for sure the one I'd choose of the three fragrances of that line, it's the nicest one of the three to me. Womanity is a shape shifter! People seem to smell very different things and have very different reactions to it and that is absolutely fascinating 😊 I will go look up that artist and see! I think the whole of the Aura line is discontinued now sadly and sensuelle went a few years ago, I remember trying it and being struck by how gorgeous the bottle was! Thanks for watching ❤️ have a great Sunday 🥰
Yes! It reminds me of Giger work too :) And also, Giger "created" the monster in Alien, and Mugler's perfume kinda looks similar to some space thing :D
I am just getting into perfumes again after more than 30 years of zero scent (for our jobs) I actually landed a sample of the Alien goddess INTENSE in a gift pack with my first travel bottle to start my collection, and to be honest… its my first full sized bottle to start my collection. I love the INTENSE version of Alien. After seeing this, it makes me feel some sort of sad to see what the giant conglomerate is doing to the little guy. Thanks for the information, it will certainly direct my future purchases to other houses moving forward. 😢
That's interesting! The intense is much more faithful to the Alien DNA than Goddess original was. Please, if you've not tried the older versions of Alien and Angel or the discontinued fragrances, don't seek them out, this is the mistake that I made... Enjoy Goddess Intense! It's a friendly, perfectly nice fragrance. And what has happened with L'Oréal's takeover has happened, there's no going back, so it's the only way to look forward. Thanks for watching and happy collecting in the future 🥰
Superb video Claire. I know you didn't have time to include the men's range, but the man was a true visionary. In fact, in the mid 2010s, the brand actually rocketed up to become my favourite designer fragrance brand, ahead of even TF and Guerlain. Unfortunately, what happened near the end was nothing short of tragic. It literally reminded me of what happened to the starship Enterprise in Star Trek Beyond. There is actually so much symbology in that crash - everything from the name, to having its throat cut, to the separation, to the captain abandoning ship, to the saucer resembling a coin flipping over after one last burn, the analogy is almost perfect. Not sure the brand will ever be able to make a comeback, but you never know. Makes me wonder if the current, ongoing disclosure of the ET presence and our genetic history will be used as a marketing tool...
Thank you ❤️ I really don't know much about the men's lines at all! I would love someone to make a video on those... I did always want to try Pure Havane and also Kryptomint, but the only one I've ever sampled was Alien Man Mirage which didn't wow me. I agree that it's super sad what happened and that is such a great analogy! Do you feel the same thing is happening to Tom Ford a little with Estée Lauder? So much has been discontinued over the last year or so. Thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume To a degree, I think Lauder is taking a slightly more sensible approach, but not by much. As far as the men's line goes, I used to own more than half of them, but now am down to 5, with the pre-Mugler Pure Havane, Wood and Malt still my favs. Pure Tonka also got me into layering. But my enthusiasm began to evaporate with the release of Orange Zest, and officially died with Ultimate. Ps, if you know the base of OZ, you know the base of Kryptomint, which was unfortunately unimpressive for me. People compared it to the smell of mint chocolates, but it's actually more like minty plasticine. Fortunately, if you layer the original A*Men with Azzaro's Wild Mint, you get a much better fragrance. 😄 Sebastian did a vid on the entire line once I think minus the history, so he would be my go-to for a decent overview. He was one of many that shared my passion for the brand.
Thanks for the overview of what's good! I'll admit I've stalked eBay a bit for pure Havane but it's rare and it nearly always goes for a lot of money in the end. Mmm minty plasticine 🤣 ok, maybe I'll leave Kryptomint 🤣 I will find Sebastian's video, he's good at covering a lot, he seems to have every fragrance ever made sometimes! Have a lovely Sunday 🥰
Fab! Really happy that you enjoyed it 😊 the new flankers are a bit meh sadly and not very Mugler. If you can find a cheap partial secondhand, I'd go for a vintage flanker if I were you 😉
Hi Claire! Thank you for such an amazing video on Thierry Mugler and his fragrances! Angel, my beloved Angel, the original one of course..it had been my signature scent for nearly 24 years. I consider myself so lucky to have known and enjoyed that fragrance, or may I say that masterpiece! That work of art! I loved it so much ,I still do, when I first smelled it ,I went crazy over it! So unique, even the bottle startled me,and the colour of the fragrance!I have finished so many bottles of Angel ,I also loved the body products of the line, especially the hair mist! I still have some miniatures and also the Taste of fragrance and the Liquer de parfum! Both of them amazing as well! It's so sad that Angel doesn't exist anymore..it has become a shadow of its former self..Thank you again for this great video!❤
Thank you ❤️ I'm so happy that you enjoyed it! 😊 I really liked researching for this, Mugler was such a striking and revolutionary brand! Wow, 24 years is some time for a signature! 😱 It's such a shame how much it's changed... It's really not on for people who consider it part of their identity. I had some Alien moisturiser and I loved that, it really added to the fragrance, so I can understand you enjoying them. I've not tried taste of fragrance or the liqueur flanker, but I know they were loved. Thanks for watching 🥰
Yes Claire, exactly, I still consider it a part of my identity! Back then , I have "choked " many people with Angel! I did overspray!😊The liqueur de parfum is a magnificent flanker!A "boozy" Angel ,I could say! Thank you for your answer! Have a good evening!
I have not bought any of the Mugler releases under L’Oréal. I still have my vintage bottles of Angel, Alien and Angel Muse, and I hope they return to being interesting.
I will keep trying the new releases in the hope that one day you are right 🤞 I treasure my vintage Muglers too! Thank you for watching and have great weekend 🥰
Well before I begin watching and just from looking at the thumbnail I have let Angel Muse EDT back in my life lol, I was so intrigued by Thierry Mugler I read and watched everything on him! This was wonderful Claire for the fragrance lovers who love the history not just the scent ❤️
Thank you ❤️ I really hope people enjoy this as a tribute to Thierry Mugler's vision. I would love to own a bottle of the EDT too! I remember trying it and it being a little fresher than the EDP, maybe easier to wear in some ways. Thanks for watching 🥰
I remember the first time I smelled Angel on a pharmacist I used to work with. She smelled so amazing and I always wanted it until years later a one of my old supervisors wore it every day and my memories of her aren’t found. Long story short I never purchased a full bottle because of the scent memory. I have a very small dabber bottle
I really missed out on Womanity. The resale market is insane. I'd like to try Angel Nova, but travel sprays aren't available, and it's being discontinued, isn't it? Gosh, I love all three Alien Goddesses. All three are on my current summer tray. (I do not like Alien line.) If I needed to chose one, Intense is my choice. This is a very informative video. Thank you!
Womanity is still available on the UK Mugler website as a refill but not as a bottle, I don't know about elsewhere. Alien Goddess is a friendly fragrance, just really not Mugler of old 😂 but things move on and L'Oréal have done what they've done. Angel Nova may have been reformulated, it seemed to disappear here and then reappear, which makes me suspicious 👀 I didn't try the new testers. I also heard it was being discontinued a year or so back so I'm not sure! 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume I think their USA website pulled it; at least it was unavailable here. I should check again. I'm soooo curious. I'd wear it even if it is weird ! Although I do NOT like Alien. Yes, I'm in that group 😂hey, I got a notification from you!
Thanks so much for this, Claire! I love Mugler as well and completely agree that they've gone downhill since L'Oreal purchased the brand. My favorites would have to be Angel Muse and Alien Essence Absolue. I recently bought vintage versions of the Angel Garden of Stars fragrances and those are up there, too. It's funny that you posted this video today because I've been working on a video where I rank all of my Mugler fragrances. So looking forward to what you do next. Cheers!
Hello Melanie! I'm on holiday right now but I just subscribed to your channel and the next tag I've not recorded, I will tag you if you want as I love to support new channels, I know it's super hard starting out and it takes so much to make your first video. Wow, you have the Garden of the Stars! I always wanted to try the Violet and the rose if those are the range that I think you mean! I only just picked up Alien essence absolue a few months back, it took me years to find a reasonably priced bottle 🤣 and angel muse I grabbed as it was being discontinued and I wanted a little bottle for reference but I'm already wondering whether I should have bought a bigger bottle. Thanks for watching ❤️ I'm happy that you enjoyed this and I look forward to seeing your video 😊
@@dr.claire.perfume Thank you so much for subscribing! Yes, I would love if you would tag me, that would be amazing 🙂 I don't have any subscribers, so you'll be the first! Yes, it is the Garden of Stars that you're thinking of. Actually, the violet is the best one. It smells like candied violets over a base of Angel and it's really special. Alien Essence Absolue is a tricky one to find here in the states as well. Fortunately, I found a decant site that had a 30ml decant for significantly less than the 30ml bottle was going for, so I snatched it up. Have tons of fun on your holiday!!
Ooh that's exciting to be your first subscriber! And thank you! ❤️ And yes a decant is a fab deal in comparison to a bottle, I just got a partial bottle, it's enough! 😊 I think everyone seems to love the violet garden of the stars.
I was late to the Angel 👼 scene, having first smelled it on a friend at a ladies’ night-out about 10 years ago & then only buying a bottle for myself about 2y ago now. I’ve since collected several others in the Mugler offerings, preceding Theiry’s death. Your review of them here reminded me of how much I enjoy their uniqueness & that I’m lucky to own & enjoy what I’ve collected - the last of which I’ll perhaps be able to get my hands on. Truly art, as you said👌
Yes I was late to Angel too, the joy is in the drydown for me and I guess that's not the bit you smell when you try it in shops etc, but is the bit that you smell wafting from other people, that's the addictive bit! I feel in general that I was a year or so too late to Mugler. The great fragrances had already been changed and many of the good ones had been discontinued. I spent a few years trying to find a reasonably priced bottle of Alien essence absolue 🤣 but I was so happy to finally get one 😊 Yes! Mugler were different and were perfume art 😊 thanks for watching ❤️
@@dr.claire.perfume ahhh, Essence Absolue - I too searched, but at a time that was quite late when it was elusive, pricey and listed by sellers where there’d be risk in buying; so I left it… I can certainly rest knowing you got one tho! Well deserved; enjoy!!
Ooh I've never tried Angel innocent but I would love to! Yes Angel is incredibly nuclear 🤣 if you want to be smelt somewhere you were 20 mins ago, it's a good choice 🤣
Thank you ❤️ the old ones are now so hard to find... If you want Aura or Angel Muse then go quickly as they are already disappearing. Thanks for watching 🥰
for some reason, their fragrance was never for me. I know many people love their Alien perfume a lot, but for me personally, it is too intense. But I learned a lot from your video :)
Loved hearing the entire history❣️ So fascinating ❣️❣️ I still remember the sample of Alien I got in a Lucky Magazine. I was making $6 an hour and I tallied up how many hours it would take for me to afford it 😊 I went to my boss and asked for more hours 😂
Interesting and informative video. Having this new information makes my collection a bit more precious than just owning them because I like perfumes. I have a few Mugler fragrances, recent acquisitions because they were the few remaining stocks by the distributor in our country. They are mostly online blind buys and so far, only Angel Iced Star was a fail for me. I’m from the tropics where pineapple plantations abound and they pineapple note is too fake to my nose. In fact it’s closer to papaya than pineapple to me. 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you! ❤️ Yes, knowing all of this makes the older fragrances very special indeed! The history and ideas behind the fragrances definitely add to my enjoyment of them too. I think I only tried iced star once in a shop when it came out, I didn't buy it because I have Eau Croisiere 2020 and I felt I didn't need it as I preferred that. I don't really remember it though... I get what you mean about Mugler's tropical fruit notes in general, his fig in Eau Croisiere always smells more like pineapple or even mango to me 🤣 so I can see how you might think the pineapple in iced star is synthetic smelling! 😊 Thanks for watching 🥰
Great video! I have 12 Muglers so far, including Aura (edp), both the pre-and post-reformulation Alien (edp) and 2009 and 2016 versions of Angel (edp). I also have a decant of one of the new Mugler Les Exceptions line - Wonder Bouquet - because I was curious. It’s pretty, I suppose, but somewhat boring. The brioche note lends it some interest, but nothing as punchy as the others. I have a 5ml mini of Womanity on the way, because I was curious and hadn’t smelled it yet. We’ll see how that one goes!
Thank you! ❤️ 12 wow! I didn't try Les Exceptions, but I heard some good things about the green liquid one, I can't remember what it was called. A brioche note does sound like something that would stand out! Ooh! Good luck with Womanity. I remember when I first tried it, I was a little shocked that it wasn't weirder 🤣 Thanks for watching 🥰
Love Mugler fragrances and the concepts for each fragrance, as well their unique bottles. They are like out of this world. The newest release however, in my opinion, does not represent Mugler, as we once used to know this house. It is much more friendlier, crowd-pleasing and mass appealing, compared to its predecessors, which are more distinctive, unique and polarizing. Great video Clair.
Thank you ❤️ I'm happy that you enjoyed it 😊 Yes I agree, the fragrances were literally out of this world! Weird, off the wall, eccentric and odd! Unapologetically strange, but there lay all of the joy ❤️ it's sad it's gone but hopefully we will discover something new as a result. Thanks for watching 🥰
Yes! Christian Dior found a star I think and definitely used it in his designs repeatedly! He was also fond of talking to psychics and asking for advice. It's such a shame about the older Mugler fragrances being discontinued or reformulated, but I guess that makes the originals even more special. Thanks for watching 🥰
Hi Dr. Smith🙋 I've never sampled or purchased anything other than AURA 🤷 I loved it at first sniff, and while I'm certainly curious about all the others, I passed on going down the rabbit hole over the years. I don't get that minty scent with AURA, but sometimes I prefer the scent from the cap vrs. wearing it. It's a pretty unique perfume. Tfs another great informative video. Francine
Hello Francine! Thank you ❤️ aah that's interesting that Aura was the one that interested you too! I also loved it at first sniff! I think what stops me wearing it more often is its crazy persistence, it's something I can smell on clothes until I wash them, it's essentially eternal... Thank you for watching, have a lovely Sunday 🥰
I loved Angel back in the day. Such a shame what L'Oreal have done to such an innovative brand. What's wrong with originality? Thank you so much for the samples you sent me Claire ❤ Violet Ida was exactly as I imagined! I love Heliotrope. Can't make up my mind about the Lalique - it's an interesting one. Please do let me know if you would like any samples from me. Such a fascinating educational video as always. Loved the bit about Mugler's lucky star and how he incorporated it into his designs. Hope you enjoy your bank holiday weekend- as much as you can with a broken ankle anyway 😕 💖
Thanks Fiona 🙂 I'm in the Fens! My ankle is less painful but still healing. I'm happy that you liked the samples. I will let you know when I get back 😊 thanks again for the offer. Yes! I loved the bit about the star! I had to put that in! I had no idea that was why the Mugler brand uses that as its emblem! It is a little sad but I guess things wax and wane. Maybe it's gone or maybe not? Maybe there are some other things out there that we will all discover instead as a result! Thanks for watching 🥰
This was a really informative video. Well done. I'm only getting into perfume now (I have had perfumes in the past, but the same 2 or 3). I have an interest with alien, it seems like something I'm wanting, almost craving, for a fragrance, right now in my life. I plan on buying it soon.
Hi Claire, thanks so much for this informative brand history and range review. As a teenager in South Africa my Mom and I loved the original Angel. Angel Inocent then came out as an, " Angel Lite" and I bought it because it was cheaper and what I could afford at the time. I still have a little left in the standing bottle for an occasional trip down memory lane:) Have you ever tried it? Such a shame that L'Oréal has turned the brand into such a generic and lost the faithful and uniqueness of Mugler. Love your videos which are so much more educational and intelligent than most of the mind-numbing perfume videos who incessantly use the term "sexy" and "addictive" and seem void of any other adjectives, yet have a ridiculous number of subscribers! Looking forward to more of your informative videos😊
Hi Miranda! No, I've never had the luck to try Angel innocent, you are the third person to mention it though so I should perhaps look for a bottle! It sounds like it's loved. And thank you! That's lovely that you enjoy my videos 😊 I think maybe I don't have that mass appeal sometimes, but that's ok, I'd rather do what I love and be me 😊 I like the art, history, science and psychology of wearing fragrance but I guess that's cos I'm an analytical person. People enjoy fragrance for many different reasons I guess 🤷♀️ Thanks for watching 🥰
Great video! Loved the history behind Mugler. Changes always create different reactions, whether it’s perfumes, fashion, architecture, language etc. I’ve noticed that many people seem to think that a language was at its most correct when they learned it at school, any change after that period of time is just wrong😅 Perfumes also follow trends (and regulations) and change over time. When one favourite disappeares, there are sooo many new to discover, in my experience. My problem is not having too few perfumes 😅 Nostalgia is a strong emotion, though. I do have a few perfumes just to have them, like Angel, Paris, Trésor, White Linens, original Chloe. Hardly never reach for them, but I don’t want to declutter them.
Thank you ❤️ Yes I know what you mean! I have some nostalgic fragrances that I hardly ever wear yet can't bring myself to declutter either 🤦♀️ and yes! My husband is a languages teacher, so we have this debate about language evolution all the time 🙊 it's something that just happens... I can't say I repurchase many fragrances in my life usually, as you say, there are many new ones to discover! Thanks for watching 🥰
I'm very much team Angel as opposed to Alien (although I do like some flankers) but I truly adored Womanity and it was my signature for years. I enjoy angel muse edt and Aura. My other love was an original flanker of angel called Innocent which I still own and treasure.❤. IMO the only good thing since L Oreal was Nova. Agreed its not an angel but nice in its own light. The rest of them are just meh to me. All my old faves are discontinued and it's so sad 😢
The discontinuations and the reformulations are the saddest part of this. Fine, bring out new generic fragrances but don't mess with what is already loved... did you try the reformulation of Womanity? I've never smelt innocent but a few people have mentioned it, I will look it up 😊 thanks for watching ❤️
I've always been an alien girl and although I recently rebought it and quite enjoyed the fragrance it wasn't as good as I remembered it. I would really like to try aura eventhough I am not a great fan of green notes because the bottle is stunning but I think you mentioned in one of your videos that it is discontinued. I hope loreal realizes that their policy doesn't actually increase sales and try to recreate the original fragrances.
Yes! Alien isn't what it was unfortunately... Aura is definitely one to sample as many people hate it but yes, it is discontinued 😭 thanks for watching as always ❤️
I went to The Clothes Show Live in Birmingham the year Angel came out. They were pushing the fragrance and giving out free samples and spraying people and the area with the perfume. It stank, and was so overwhelming it’s put me off the scent for life
Yeah, I know what you mean, it's a one or two spray fragrance for the original formulation, it can easily be overwhelming, I can imagine that would have been awful, especially if the place where it was held was hot and crowded! Thanks for watching 🥰
Very interesting! Also an excellent companion piece to the Fragrance Apprentice's Mugler history video focusing on masc-marketed (sic) fragrances and a similar history thereof.
@@dr.claire.perfume I believe so! Admittedly, just found his channel a few days ago but he's put out a few in recent days based on YT's recs, it seems.
Super interesting video- this is so sad what happen to that brand 😔 I only started my perfume passion 2 year ago So I don’T even know that previous version, but I found out that I love angel muse edp So much that I have 200 ml refills and I’m affraid to use them now 😢
Yes, I know what you mean, I feel like I missed so much with Mugler... I only just found a bottle of alien essence absolue after literally years of looking for something at a reasonable price... But yeah, I felt like I had to grab a little bottle of angel muse because it's mmm! Thanks for watching 🥰
Oh goodness, Alien didn’t come out till 2005 😳😳😳 why can’t we find the batch dates 😢 the Angel bottles are older….hmm 😡 this is amazing and Thierry Mugler was so ahead of his time in all he did!! Only 10min’s in and wow 🤩 this is amazing!! How funny that I wasn’t an Alien fan? Maybe I should try it again?!? How come I smell vanilla in Angel? It’s gotta be the patchouly, but I get vanilla in there somewhere.
I guess Angel is sweet and maybe it has some 🤷♀️ I don't know, they don't always mention it... Like l'interdit Rouge definitely has it, but it's not listed. I think the modern Alien is worth trying still. 😉
I too just bought a genuine bottle of Alien Goddess (from Sephora) and searched for the batch code and it says not found or invalid! I am wondering just this moment, could the new line-up be under L’Oréal instead? (Im gonna dig my stuff out and check! )
hello vim pela (veritas (Alexandra ) cheguei pra ficar adorei seu cantinho obgd por compartilhar com nós continua sendo essa pessoa maravilhosa que vc é sucesso sempre 👏❤😊 saudações de minas gerais
You forgot about the men's line, that's important too, about the brand, Mugler probably should be independent, their products easily could be considered niche fragrances, that should be their focus, like tiziana terenzi, Xerjoff and many more, if someone could buy Mugler and transform the brand into niche brand, the originality could reborn again
I totally agree, you make a fab point, Mugler were the niche side of designer and that kind of marketing and artistic direction is what the brand needs to rejuvenate. Sadly that won't happen under l'Oréal... 😔 I haven't tried many of the male marketed line unfortunately and I don't own any of them so I just stuck to what I knew. 😂 I don't want to talk about stuff I can't accurately describe and give my opinions on. I own or have samples of all of the perfumes I discussed here so I feel confident that I know them 🙂 thanks for watching ❤️
Fabulous vid Claire - loved it and the amount of time and research you put into this is so evident. I have 7 Muglers. Back in the 90’s Angel was my signature for several years (yeah i know, did I really think I could pull this off in my 20’s?) agree the newer ones are a non-event. Super sad.
Thanks Jill! I'm happy that you enjoyed it! ❤️ Aww, I think Angel suits that age! It's loud and proud 😊 7 is a good collection, you are definitely a fan! 🥰
I thought this was a great, and very in-depth video. Thank you so much! I have a bottle of Angel Muse, which I love, and I'm really curious to see how the other fragrances are. That's really the only one that I've gotten my nose on. Although, when I smelled Angel Nova in store it seemed very synthetic and a little screechy to me. But I do want to get my nose on a lot of the other fragrances from this house. Hopefully, I can find older samples online. I've seen those every once in a while.
Hi Sarah! Yes! Angel Muse is a gorgeously edible fragrance! Mmm! I agree that Angel Nova is very synthetic, I don't know whether that was meant or not but it's one I have to be in a certain mood to wear and enjoy. I hope you manage to find some of the older fragrances to sample, Alien for me is the old formulation worth sniffing! Thanks for watching 🥰
Mugler was fab! Such a trailblazer and unafraid to do things differently, which is so important in the world of fashion and fragrance. It's so sad the direction that the brand has gone in more recently. Thanks for watching 🥰
Angel Muse is my current obsession. Can’t wait to start wearing it again in the fall. Thank you for sharing this detailed information! I really enjoyed finding out more about one of my favorite designers ❤️😍
No problem! Thank you for watching ❤️ I think Angel muse will be a regret for me for not finding a bigger bottle. It's relatively new in my collection. Have a fab weekend 🥰
Yes! It's a huge shame that Angel and Alien were reformulated and that Angel Muse is discontinued. They were stunning fragrances! Thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume No, we can buy Angel Muse in shoppers drug Mart in Canada. I know they always have to ruin the perfume by reformulating it and it’s never as good.
I used to be so obsessed with this house, Angel is the perfume that sucked me into the fragrance world. So sad that I couldn’t care less about what Mugler releases now.
I used to love Thierry Mugler fragrances, what happened to the brand is absolutely tragic
I agree that it's extremely sad with the reformulations and the discontinuations. Thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume Breaks my heart, it was really nice in his og formulations, I'd be turning in my grave
I remember back in the 90’s New York streets and clubs smelled of Angel. It’s so iconic ❤❤
I bet!!! It was super popular! And so strong 🤣
I hate the smell of Angel even though it's the most popular Mugler fragrance
This channel is such a gem! Nobody is doing brand breakdowns and history videos like you!! Awesome keep it up ❤
Thank you 😊 I'm happy that you enjoyed it. Have a lovely week 🥰
Womanity's bottle is one of the most gorgeous modern perfume bottles out there, an art piece ♥
Yes it's surprisingly intricate and well moulded!
I love angel and angel muse ❤
@@monikapalijova5000 those are fab ☺️
I never smelled the original Angel, but i absolutely love Angel Nova.
Angel Nova is happy 😊 fluorescent almost! I think it's fun! I think Angel was groundbreaking, but it's not necessarily very now and it's certainly nothing like Angel Nova. I enjoy the vintage version but I can understand people not. Thanks for watching 🥰
Discontinued
T.M. is definitely a superSTAR in the fashion world & fragcomm. , his work was revolutionary and extra ordinary... most of the Mugler frags r pretty unique and their bottles r fabulous, especially the women frags..
fab video, love the thumbnail so magnetic lol
big up (y) ♥
Thank you! Yes, I'm not too sure how much I could make a video about any other brand than Mugler and that says a lot I think! They were just so interesting. Thanks for watching 🥰
What a fantastic trip to the world of Mugler. Totally intriguing story to match the incredibly polarizing fragrances.
Yes absolutely! Thank you ❤️
Angel Nova is my favorite Mugler fragrance.
Thank you! ❤️ yes me too! The original alien is mmm! And yes, Thierry Mugler's vision shines through the early fragrances! Thanks for watching 🥰
Brilliant idea to make the bottles refillable!
Alas, the seemingly inevitable entropy of wonderfulness.
Well,I'm not gonna cry because a great era is over. I choose to smile because it happened!
Yes! Mugler-Clarins fragrances were wow! I'm pleased to still have a few to enjoy ☺️
Thank you ❤️ yes the house used to really stand out 😍 happy to hear you have some backup refills of the classics ☺️ thanks for watching 🥰
Back in 2000 I loved Angel, later came Womanity and Aura. I try to stock up😉🌷
Yes, definitely good to find them whilst they are still around! ❤️
Yes Angel did get popular 🤣 and Nova I do still enjoy but it's one I have to be in a certain mood for! It's Barbie for sure! Thanks for watching 🥰
L'Oreal is ruining Mugler
another brilliant video, i could watch you all day! angel is my favourite perfume of all time bar none, or should i say it was before loreal ruined it. i smelled it on my best friends mum when i was 15 and was immediately hooked and it's been my signature ever since, much to said best friends lament as she absolutely loathes it especially the extra strong vintage formulas i wear with reckless abandon! i've always been an angel person but i did love alien as well until, you guessed it, the loreal takeover. i have a bottle of alien essence absolue that i still cherish to this day. womanity has been my signature summer daytime scent since 2013 and i was very pleasantly surprised to discover the bottle i bought last year hadn't been ruined by the loreal reformulation. this video has me recalling how lucky we were as thierry mugler fans back in the day, especially in the early 2010's when they would release absolutely brilliant flankers of all the pillar fragrances such as the leather line, the liqueur line and the taste of fragrance line! all strong as hell and as interesting as designer perfumery gets in my opinion. if you ever manage to track down any of these flankers for a good price then absolutely go for it, they're mostly long gone now but they were all just superb! thank you for another excellent informative video :) much love x x
Obsessed with Demi’s dress is Indecent Proposal 🖤
It's absolutely stunning 😍
Which ones do you have?
Angel Muse is really delicious 😋
Womanity can smell a very different on different people I think, that's probably why it's a bit love / hate. Thanks for watching 🥰
I love this video and I love my Mugler fragrances. I always thought Aura should’ve been called Alien. 💚
Yes, I know what you mean, it's also very other worldly. It makes me think of Avatar!
A*Men, Pure Havane, Pure Tonka...those were my absolute favourites 😭 And so many others I didn't even get the chance to sample (Pure Coffee, Pure Leather, Ultra Zest, B*Men...)
(omg, so sorry for writing such a long comment...
Gone! 😭
I remember thinking Nova smelt incredibly synthetic when I first smelt it and yes, it does, but at least it was a little off beat still.
Aura was the fragrance that garnered my interest in Mugler as well. 😊
It stunned me! I remember the first time I tried it! It just stood out as different and addictive 😊
Angel muse is really lovely ,I love your little bottle and yes it’s like a little baby Alien 👽
It's a cute one 🤣 Angel muse is really a chocolatey treat! 😊
I love The Angel EAU Criosiere flankers
Yes! I have the 2020 and I tried the 2019, both are lovely 😍 thanks for watching 🥰
Hi Claire,
this was an awesome look at the history of Mugler.
I love the original Angel, but I also Love the Alien Goddess. I’m 52.
Well that's the best of both worlds! Thanks for watching 🥰
Angel elixir was such a let down. I agree… very lukewarm. Great video once again!
Thank you! ❤️
I love the bottle shape too ❤❤❤❤
Yes the bottles are stunning 😍
Love your talk! So enjoyable
Thank you 🥰
For a designer house, Mugler was definitely very different.
People seem to smell very different things and have very different reactions to it and that is absolutely fascinating 😊
I will go look up that artist and see!
@Dragana-tv1zw I think he also did the Species monster and maybe Jonathan Davis' mic stand.
Thanks Claire, this was a brilliant video. I loved hearing about history of TM brand. I don’t have any fragrance but now I’m tempted to sample them.
Haha! I bet! Old Angel was a beast 🤣 Mmm boozy Angel sounds delicious 😋
@@dr.claire.perfume I hope you score good ones!
👌
Yes I totally understand that! Smelling something on someone you don't get on with can really put you off ever wanting to wear that fragrance...
@@dr.claire.perfume I don't think I'm a Mugler fan 😅 I'm in the love/hate category. I would like to try Angel Nova.... but I might be out of luck .
It's still on the shelves here and Mugler are still advertising it so hopefully not 🤞
@@dr.claire.perfume I think their USA website pulled it; at least it was unavailable here. I should check again. I'm soooo curious. I'd wear it even if it is weird ! Although I do NOT like Alien. Yes, I'm in that group 😂hey, I got a notification from you!
@@dr.claire.perfume I also want to try Womanity. Now that is definitely a lost fragrance :(
Thanks so much for this, Claire!
32 minutes well spent ❤
Loved it ❤
My favorite is Aura, followed by Angel and then Alien. Would love to try Womanity
Thank you ❤️ they are stunning fragrances, with amazing stories and inspirations. Thanks for watching 🥰
Muller is my top brand..and Angel is my signature scent 😍 the video was wonderfully done..I enjoyed .
What a fab signature! 👌 I'm really happy that you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 🥰
I spent a few years trying to find a reasonably priced bottle of Alien essence absolue 🤣 but I was so happy to finally get one 😊
Yes!
It's only a partial, but it's enough and was affordable, I will use it and enjoy it and not worry about preserving it. 😊
I love the black dress in Indecent Proposal!
It was stunning! I think Kim Kardashian wore a slightly more risqué version of it at one point, also designed by Mugler. 🥰
Great episode, thank you.
Thanks 🥰
Hi claire! Oh the mugler road, must watch🤩 I lived in angel and angel innocent when I was 18-19 but now I wouldn’t feel comfortable in it😅
Ooh I've never tried Angel innocent but I would love to! Yes Angel is incredibly nuclear 🤣 if you want to be smelt somewhere you were 20 mins ago, it's a good choice 🤣

Hello Claire , i don’t own any Muglar fragrances yet. I did enjoy the history lesson though. Fab video as always!
Thank you ❤️ the old ones are now so hard to find... If you want Aura or Angel Muse then go quickly as they are already disappearing. Thanks for watching 🥰
This is absolutely an incredible story and that green bottle of Aura just reminds me of vampires 🧛♀️ and dark gothic nights ( I have never smelt it )
It's a friendly green vanilla but yes, it's a bit witchy for sure! And the bottle matches that 💚
Aah root beer is lovely in fragrance ❤️ I really like that kind of smell in Ange ou Démon and in Givenchy l'interdit Rouge too! 😊
for some reason, their fragrance was never for me. I know many people love their Alien perfume a lot, but for me personally, it is too intense. But I learned a lot from your video :)
Thank you ❤️ yeah these fragrances are divisive 😂
Loved hearing the entire history❣️ So fascinating ❣️❣️
I still remember the sample of Alien I got in a Lucky Magazine. I was making $6 an hour and I tallied up how many hours it would take for me to afford it 😊 I went to my boss and asked for more hours 😂
Thank you ❤️ Lol Laurel! I can totally imagine that. 🤣 It was mesmerising! 💜
Thank you it was very informative. I just had to spray my Aura right now😉🌷
It's a very distinctive fragrance 👌
Love angel and alien❤ yes I do think of mad max looking a the womanity bottle 😅😅
It's weirdly got that vibe 😂 thanks for watching 🥰
Thanks for watching 🥰
Aura Murgler is my all time favourite.
It's lovely. I'm happy to have my huge 90ml bottle 😂
Very interesting, thank you! I’d love to see a profile of Quinton Bisch.
Thank you! ❤️ I will look into profiling some perfumers and see what I can find out! 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume That would be great, thank you!
No problem, you know me, this could take some time 😂
Angel doesn't smell like it did when I first smelled it on the 90s. It was truly revolutionary!
So true. My sister has a 90s vintage bottle I'm so jealous of. I love to sniff the sprayer to remind me what a beast Angel was in it's heyday 🩵
Yes Angel was super different and super strong!!! 💙
Although I love Alien on others, I have never been a Mugler girl. Absolutely loved hearing all of the history and information though 🙏 thank you
Thanks Em! I totally understand that! They are a bit bombastic 🤣 definitely a mood for me! Thanks for watching 🥰
@@dr.claire.perfume I did own it once years back, I think the EDT though. I tried 🤣
The EDT was nice! And such a pretty shade of purple too!
@@dr.claire.perfume I bought it on the ferry back from Rotterdam to Hull, so that was 2010. Where did the time go
Gosh yes! That's a long time ago now, my mid 20s are long gone sadly 😭
I remember when I first tried it, I was a little shocked that it wasn't weirder 🤣
Thanks for watching 🥰
Thank you once again for this amazing video and for keeping Mugler legacy alive @@dr.claire.perfume

Bought.. By a big company. Big changes in formulation on a few ✨as for the Star emblem and fortune teller story, that was Dior.
Hi Dr. Smith🙋
I've never sampled or purchased anything other than AURA 🤷
I loved it at first sniff, and while I'm certainly curious about all the others, I passed on going down the rabbit hole over the years.

Good morning Clare ☕️
Hello Frances! ❤️
@@dr.claire.perfumePerfume and language talk! Yeey! 😍
Yes super geeky 🤓
@dr.claire.perfume I currently have the refill of the new formulation. Its slightly milder than og but still love it. 🥰
@dr.claire.perfume I've emailed u. When I get some empty sample bottles I'll send u one of innocent. 👍
Oh thank you! I am away right now but I will send yours too when I get back 🥰
I've always been an alien girl and although I recently rebought it and quite enjoyed the fragrance it wasn't as good as I remembered it.
Just bought a small bottle of Aura. Green is my favorite color. Blind buy and I love it.
Aah that's fabulous! 💚
Great video. Very informative.

(Im gonna dig my stuff out and check! )
I’m catching up on your episodes, having just discovered your channel. I love your content!
Thank you! I will check out your content too 😊
This was so well put together and interesting! Thank you :D
Thank you ❤️ I'm happy that you enjoyed it! 🥰
I haven't tried many of the male marketed line unfortunately and I don't own any of them so I just stuck to what I knew. 😂 I don't want to talk about stuff I can't accurately describe and give my opinions on. I own or have samples of all of the perfumes I discussed here so I feel confident that I know them 🙂 thanks for watching ❤️
Really awesome overview of an incredible house, Claire!!!💜💜💜
Thanks Joss ❤️ have a lovely weekend 🥰
Fabulous vid Claire - loved it and the amount of time and research you put into this is so evident. I have 7 Muglers. Back in the 90’s Angel was my signature for several years (yeah i know, did I really think I could pull this off in my 20’s?) agree the newer ones are a non-event. Super sad.
Thanks Jill! I'm happy that you enjoyed it! ❤️ Aww, I think Angel suits that age! It's loud and proud 😊 7 is a good collection, you are definitely a fan! 🥰
i love your videos they are so informative and well researched. thank you! 💗🌟
Thank you 😊 I loved making this one!
Hello Claire. Angel was my first adult fragrance. Thank you for the video 🌹🌹🌹
No problem! It's a striking choice! 💙
Still love womanity, alien, angel EDT, angel nova, Muse those are perfumes with charisma!
They are absolute stunners! Thanks for watching 🥰
Viva Mugler! The man who embraced super hero’s and pop culture into super-power juices 😊
Mugler was fab! Such a trailblazer and unafraid to do things differently, which is so important in the world of fashion and fragrance. It's so sad the direction that the brand has gone in more recently. Thanks for watching 🥰
Wow Such an Informative video🙌 I absolutely Loved watching this vid💗✨
Thank you ❤️ I'm really happy that you enjoyed it! 😇👽🐚💚🍫
This was so insightful! Loved the video 😍
Thank you 🥰
Angel Muse is my current obsession.
Happy Saturday Dr. Claire. Now to watch.
You too! 🥰
Angel muse, and Angel are my favourite I like alien, but it doesn’t smell the same anymore
Good that it's still around for you. It's already hard to find here. 🥰
I used to be so obsessed with this house, Angel is the perfume that sucked me into the fragrance world. So sad that I couldn’t care less about what Mugler releases now.
It's very sad isn't it? Such a distinctive brand just l'Oréal-ed unfortunately... thanks for watching 🥰
