- Have you ever tried making over easy eggs and crack the yolk open when you try flipping it? Check out my short video on how you can avoid flipping your eggs and still get that perfectly cooked egg.
BASTED EGGS
Heat butter until melted; add eggs.
Fry until white is starting to set.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Add water and cover immediately; some people add less water but I like a little more. The steam will cook the top of eggs; it takes just a minute or ...
I serve these with toast and fried potatoes, just like over easy eggs.
Why does it take over 7 minutes to show how to cook and egg?
Sunny side up, try with bacon grease, just lap grease over top of eggs with spatula at medium heat, no lid required...
Not flipping your egg is not considered over easy. You basically made a tutorial for eggs sunny side up and gave it the wrong title.
exactly, the title should read " man puts lid on pan to cook egg " 🤣
If it's over easy, you have to flip it but cook it over EASY. This is a sunny side up egg. Just change the title, and it'll be fine.
VERY NICE THANKS SIR
Cool salt container!
These are not ,,over easy" eggs! And the whites are still runny because the heat under the pan was too high.
thanks thanks babe you're the best heart emoji
👍🏼 You’re cool!
Get to the point
Theses aren't over easy, they are sunny side up.
7 minutes video to cook 2 eggs?
Yes these are sunny side up eggs, not over easy. Also if you add a teaspoon of water to the pan it will steam better and more effectively.
6xArcaNumx6 ...
6xArcaNumx6 Yep that’s the way you do it
Some people call them over easy. That's what I heard growing up. So same thing.
Man give the guy a break
The water is definitely the way to speed this up.
If you're going to use the lid-on-pan method, you can create more steam by drizzling in a teaspoon of water. This speeds up the cooking.
NO, I would send them back if you served me those eggs as over easy!
They went over so easy i didn't even see him flip them lol
@arthur wiebe eggsactly
Try this, toss an ice cube in beside the eggs before putting the lid on. It prevent "lacy edges" by keeping the pan from getting too hot around the eggs and steam puts a perfect finish on top of them.
you used 7 + minutes for a 2 minute video. they arent easy over eggs they are sunny side up
This is a hybrid style of fried eggs. They're not eggs over easy, nor are they sunnyside up. To qualify as eggs over easy, they must be FLIPPED. But I see what you're doing.
lol looks great! but you cant call it over easy if you don't turn them " OVER"
That's the truth.
Sorry sir, but they have to be flipped. This way the yolk got solid at the bottom. The secret is to flip them to get the egg white cooked without cooking the yolk too much. It has to be flipped.
Okay, but a bit long. Forty seconds would be better especially with all the vocal crutches, "um mm." Still, wanted to eat them at the end. Power of Hollywood, I guess.
Not coconut oil... it's clarified butter, and before you take off the heat do a pan flip, so they are "over" easy.... not sunny side up or poached?... One last thing ... I'm kinda questioning your channel title... "The Cook and The coach" ... not sure about the "Cook" part... but are you any better as a coach?
That’s not over easy brother
It’s Sunny side eggs
Right. Over easy is flipped over. This way all the white is done but runny yellows. Also called OVER easy, why?
Dude,I gotta much better way.
1.cook some bacon,save the grease
2.add eggs to the bacon grease
3. Gently splash the bacon grease onto the top of the eggs until the whites are cooked and the yolks start to turn white.
4 enjoy.
That's how my mom always did it.
Yum! Thats a good hangover cure right there and just plain
Delicious.😋
Damn so many people saying they are sunny side up. They technically are but this is a different technique which doesn't require flipping them. Cook like sunny side up, end result is like over easy 🤷🏽♀️
These are basted eggs, not over easy. As someone said below, add a tsp of water to make it work better.
I usually order my eggs basted in restaurants. They seem to come out more consistently this way.
(This is the second video I’ve seen that claimed that this technique was for over-easy eggs. Someone must’ve made the initial mistake and people are repeating it.)
This is a sunny side up egg... trust me, I work at Waffle House. xD
I know right? Boggles the mind - just because the top is cooked is NOT the same as over easy - laughable in my opinion.
I’d take them either way. 😎
Those are not Sunny, they a poor attempt at Steambasting.
Now go was dishes.
Good job of cooking eggs, horrible job of speaking. I could hardly watch the video because of all the "likes" and AHHHHHSSS and occasional smacking. An instruction video is related to food in that presentation is everything. Not trying to be hateful but think ahead of what you are going to say and stop the repetitive connective words.
Dang, my lids are opaque, & I assume removing the lid to peel kind of screws up the steaming process. Good technique! Now I need a transparent universal lid!
A perfect fried egg. Just like I like them. With some home fries with small cut peppers, onions and goya extra virgin olive oil and bacon. I also make some pancakes to go with it. That has been my breakfast for the last 30 years. Oh, and a nice cup of coffee.
I believe they're rather sunny side up eggs, and the over easy ones are always cooked on both sides. But I might be wrong, as I'm not a native English speaker. Anyways, I like the idea. A thumb up 👍
That's not "over easy", that's called "sunny side up". They look good though. (The "over" in over easy refers to the egg being flipped)
I've been doing this since I was a cook in my early twenties man I love the stream idea of cooking you can use it on allot of different foods steaming brings pretty much everything back to a juicy start.
Steamed soft- and hard-boiled eggs are great, too.
these are "sunny side' not 'over easy' nice try but no cigar. Try adding some water, a teaspoon or so and then put the lid on. The eggs will not be strictly 'over easy' but they will definitely look more over easy than these eggs.
The eggs are called "sunny side up" and not "over easy" Just sayin...
Uummmm. Damn bro, stop w all the ummm. Cook the damn eggs. Bye.
I've tried coconut oil and I don't want my eggs to taste like coconut
i know it's pretty off topic but do anyone know a good place to stream newly released series online ?
@Walker Aiden i would suggest Flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
@Walker Aiden try Flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
wow 7 + minutes to make sum Sunnyside eggs, yes these sure ain't over easy. 👎👎👎👎👎
wow ur coconut oil is solid.. must be cold there.. i cant find coconut oil in this form.. because the room temperature here already turns them into liquid.
First off use butter
If you can't flip an egg without breaking the yolk then you are not a cook.......
Iknow they are just eggs but the most boring way to cook eggs ever had to fast forward and they were not fully cooked nor correctly!
Yuck! That is Not over easy! Those are sunny side eggs! The yolk is still raw and cold!
Who cares how it’s cooked I love eggs
This is SUNNY SIDE UP. It isnt OVER anything! Never lid a pan cooking fried eggs. It steams them and toughens them.
You need to learn what an "over easy" egg is. You cooked a sunny side up egg.
Those eggs were raw .white looked runny. Useless 🐶woof.
America’s test kitchen had that technique on one of their videos.
If you can’t do the flip you should let someone else cook your eggs
Those are not Sunny,
that was a poor attempt at Steambasting eggs.
That's not over easy you put a lid on that's called sunny side up
Put a spoon or 2 of water in the pan. Steam is better than oil.
Incredible... my mom was 50 years ahead of time. That's how she made them back in the 60's! Guess too many millenials out there!
A lot of people are "discovering" ways of cooking that we did 50 years ago! That's ok, because we were probably re-discovering a lot of it, too.
It's not over easy if you don't flip it over.
You are gravely mis-informed, please look up: How to Baste an Egg. Over means turning them over...
..... okay now i' m hungry for eggs, nice goin' duuuude ! lol :D
I know this video is old, but I’m wondering if anybody told you that your title is misleading because those are sunny side up, not over easy? BWAHAHAHA I crack me up cause I just jokin on ya. EVERYBODY told you, do people REALLY not read comments to make sure the first 1,100 hundred comment were not informing you of your critical, life error? I’m sure it’s only a misdemeanor so you didn’t have much to worry about! ✌️P.S. it’s 3:20am and I am bored enough to watch people frying eggs and make jokes that I am probably the only person laughing at 😆😆😆 insomnia and I are very close! P.S.S. You didn’t put salt and pepper on those eggs, now THAT is a felony. I didn’t see anyone mention it and I wanted to be the first one...go me!
nice cookware. Wheres the toast?
I thought this was a basted egg.
At water to crest actual steam dude
Where in this video is the "OVER easy" ? The 2 fried eggs should be flipped over and fried on the egg yolk side for a few seconds WITHOUT braking the yolk; this is just a lousy presentation of Eggs Sunny Side Up!
Not a burner, an electric coil
Now that is perfect.
That's not over easy.
PERFECT!
Its not over easy my friend but it's called basted. If you dont flip it and you cover it untill the yolks become white in color is called basted. Basted is cook inside with its own steam heat inside because its covered. Over easy is soft eggyolk and must be flipped. 😁😁
Your title is misleading. These are not over easy; they are sunny side up. Over easy means you flip them "over".
Sunny side up!
😂😂 where’s the over. Sunny side up.
also this is sunny side up. not over easy.
Marlyn Racius Thanks!!! Sherlock!! 😑😑🖕🖕🖕 you and every millionth person on here.
Eew raw whites
That was sunny side up and the bottom of your yolk was overcooked.
That white is still "snotty". Over easy is all the white is fully cooked and the yolk is just warm. Covering eggs while cooking makes them tough. You missed the "over easy" part. Flip without breaking the yolk.
These eggs with refried beans would smack...can’t forget the green salsa either.
Thank you
Those aren’t over easy I use either butter or bacon grease in a eggs only skillet and I can flip them without a spatula
Is ‘super’ the only adjective in USA these days?
This may sound like heresy, but when I'm in a hurry I fry one side, slide them onto a plate, and pop them into the microwave for about 7 seconds. Warms the yolks, which are often still cool if you don't flip and use no lid. No flipping and the egg still has a "fried" taste and texture, not poached or rubbery like purely microwaved eggs get.
Cool!
I usually allow a half teaspoon of water in the pan so there is a lot of vapor on the lids inside, and I lift the lid and let the water from the lid drip onto the yokes and they turn white almost immediately from the hot water off the lid.
If you put bout a tablespoon of water they’ll cook faster with a more complete white over the yoke.
Great info for this bachelor!!
That is really nothing new to me,...I do that all the time when I cook eggs. It is the best way when you don't want to use the egg flipper and make a mess, the trick is in the glass cover,...you can keep an eye on your eggs while they cook. I always use a ten inch teflon pan with a glass cover, and that's it , I love eggs I always frie three eggs .
This is good and eggs taste good without having the white runny on the top like in some sunny-side-ups, but it's not over-easy. It is more of a sunny-side-up.
"I'm sure I saw this somewhere..."
(If not I just make shit up anyway)
Um.
Add a small ice cube when you put your cover on.
Right. Or, add a tablespoon of water to the pan, when the whites start to coagulate.
This is how I like my eggs, but I considered this “over easy.” I have learned so much during quarantine cooking. 🍳🤣
Why use coconut oil? Is it better than olive oil or butter?
what do u call it when the yolk isnt busted but its done and not raw. i like mine fully cooked but the yolk not busted kind of looks like a poached egg
You needed to add just a little aqua more condensation and definitely more pepper whatever? Maybe some bacon bits would be good?
I could have done without the HUGE pause of silence in the video re edit it
Mike Matania, you need to "re edit" your typing skills before you tell someone to re-edit their video. Thank you sir.
How do you crack the eggs without breaking the yolk ?
I use this method to cook my eggs and I use the term "basted" for the process. I also add a 1/2 teaspoon of water to assist with the steaming.
To everyone questioning if this is an over easy egg or sunny side up??? To me those terms describe the consistency of the yolk more than the process used to cook them. I'm sorry if I offended any culinary purists that take this description literally.
The Cook & The Coach
The Cook & The Coach they don't describe the texture if the yolk. It is called OVER easy cuz u flip them OVER. The texture of the yolk is describes either runny or solid
The Cook & The Coach to u they r over easy so lets leave it as that, btw your over easy eggs look perfect! Ima go male me some now
Maybe that's how you all do it north of the border but down here there is a distinction.
Over easy is flipping the eggs, this sunny side up. I work for a breakfast place that use 90% of over easy eggs. Again, you need to flip the eggs to consider it an over easy egg.
To the comments below. What is the difference between Sunny Side Up and Over Easy? Wouldn't the middle result in same way? Juicy?
Over easy eggs are flipped over. You can get similar results by splashing grease on top of the yokes, but that can be messy. The middle, or yoke, can be cooked to the point it doesn't run at all, but is solid. It depends on how long you cook the egg.
good job, but your singing voice is annoying lol sorry
this surprisingly work, good job
cool
Sunny side up bro
Eggs. Odd video. Not sure if it was good or not?
