    So I’ve been following this video and learned my head size required a few more stitches than yours so for anyone with big hair and huge eyes shoot for 64 stitches!
    And I made the eye holes 10 stitches long but put them into the eighth stitch around. This achieved the same look and I love it!

    I'm with you with the no gatekeeping and accessibility, I hate the new tik tok crochet generation trying to sell patterns for 5.00 - 10.00... Have you ever wanted to know how to make a cooking recipe and googled it and seen someone selling a single recipe? Do it for the craft

    • @alexandria_masse
      @alexandria_masse  Месяц назад

      To be fair a lot of crochet patterns online are free, just like cooking recipes they run ads on their feeds to make some money off of it! I do believe artists should be paid fairly for their work! But I also remember being 14 and having no credit card so when I make tutorials I think of making it accessible for “younger me” :)

    • @TommyCogs
      @TommyCogs Месяц назад

      @@alexandria_masse I have no problem with people selling things they make, or if they made their patterns into a book, but just single text instructions is pretty new I've been crocheting for over 20 years and this selling single patterns thing is pretty new, it's never a new stich that's developed or anything either, just basic stiches that you have to figure out the number an order. In other crafts people love sharing things they figured out; I just don't want to see crochet ruined with greed

    Hi!! I bought your pattern and am working on the gauge swatch currently (trying to get it correct before getting too far into it). I was reading a reply you left on a comment about theirs being too small. You said one thing they could do is make their starting circle another row larger. Does this mean to do row 1 and an extra increase row, and then start on row 2, which is another increase row? Sorry for the long question, just a bit confused atm.
    Update: That didn’t work for me. Should’ve know that wouldn’t work lol.
    If you see this or if anyone knows, please lmk!! Thanks so much 🥰

    • @alexandria_masse
      @alexandria_masse  10 месяцев назад +3

      Hi Brooke! An easy solution in this situation is adding a 6th row of increases to make the big circle larger before moving on to the rest of the balaclava. You can also add additional rows to the bottom to cover your neck (depending how you like it)
