How many saw the title and thought, Case knives are doing a kickstarter campaign?

    • @extrasmack

Yup. Made me curious as to what in the world Case would need with kickstarter. Lol

Just a little advice for anyone thinking of purchasing a case knife, if you plan on using the knife, buy a plain old yellow delrin scaled case with chrome vanadium blades, it's better than stainless, trust me.. if you buy one of the fancy blue jigged bone, stag bone or one of the many pretty colored/textured scales, you're not gonna want to use the knife, this is how case collecting starts, you buy one & it's so pretty you don't want to use it, so you tell yourself i'll buy another one to use & save this one, so you buy another, and another, etc.. lol

I got one that sort of looks like that one. It's a Case knife and it was given to me by my grandpa like 50 years ago. I still have it.

Growing up less than an hour from Bradford PA (where Case knives and Zippo lighters are made), Case was THE standard we judged all other knives by. Glad to see they added modern features without losing the classic Case vibe.

William McCaslin - I bought my first Case with money from hauling hay - 12 years old and 53 years ago . High carbon 2 blade Barlow design , but I have to admit Case surgical stainless is pretty good .

I too prefer carbon, but I have both types from case and I gotta admit.. I can shave with the try sharp too. Just takes a little longer than the chrome vanadium.

Very much like Old Timer and Uncle Henry knives were when they were still made in upstate New York. Remember that dark patina they developed with use? At least Case is still very much American. Old Timer and Uncle Henry brands are like a pair of old whores being sold from one cheap ungrateful pimp to another. Just being used for their once proud name. I wish someone like Zippo/Case would rescue these brands and restore them to their former glory. Taylor Brands was awful, Battenfeld Technologies even worse.

Case makes so many neat knives, two that are small but very neat I ran across recently are the Mini-Trapper and the Tuxedo. Tiny knives, not for defensive use, but really neat. Especially the Tuxedo.

  • @Lex5576

I wish Case would tell us what the composition of that steel is. Is it like 420HC?...440?.....Sandvik 12C27? Perhaps it's one of these, and they use a patented heat treat like Buck. But to me, hearing a term like Tru-Sharp is almost like hearing the generic term "Surgical Stainless Steel". Which itself is enough to make you leery of it.

My grandfathers, my father and I have always had case knives. The case xx is my all time favorite. But I have to be honest, I haven't purchased one for 30 years. When they started making stainless blades, that was the end for me. Now, you would have to take a loan out to buy one. One hundred dollars for a pocket knife is just plain ridiculous. Never again.

It had potential, I don't like the liner lock or the ugly clip hiding the pretty covers. Price is a little high. I do like the blade but not the handle so much. The copperlock is a great lockback for a gentlemen to carry

It’s a nice knife. I own three of them. I also have two of the Russlock knives. I have to disagree with you on one point though. I’m a 15 year US Army veteran and I don’t think it’s awesome to use the American flag as an advertisement on any type of product.

Glad case has a easy open knife!
    I love case knives!
Thank goodness Zippo brought them back from bankruptcy.
I will gladly pay more for anything made in the USA.
Buying things made in The USA helps everyone!
Spyderco is making some of their knives in the USA.
So now those are the only Spyderco knives I buy.
Leatherman makes its multitools in China.
    I won't buy them!
Gerber still makes some knives in the USA.
But their multitools are assembled in the USA using imported parts.
Tops knives are all made in USA and are fantastic quality!
    KBAR USA made.
What other USA made knives does everyone recommend??

Hi sootch. You forgot to say that it is not much good for lefties, that the blade scratches on the liners and that the pocket clip is way to big. You say 3 times that it is made in the USA as if that is all we need to know. Taïwan and China make great stuff. Ask Maxpedition, kershaw, Buck, Gerber, Spiderco, Coldsteel or Crkt.

    • @macktheknife3256
      @macktheknife3256 5 лет назад +1

As far as lefties, Case offers "left handed" knives instead of reversible clips. No kidding, another thumbs up for Case. Case is High Class. Also if you stepped up to a Case you would learn that with the superior material and finish of the Case blade and liners there won't be any scratches or marring. And, I forgot to say, Case is American Made.

The amber bone I love; the Linerlock would be good if it wasn’t illegal here in the UK, same for the assist, but thumb studs, no, just no. And finally the clip... really? No, it’s just ugly. I love Case knives, but not this one. Great video, but not this knife I’m afraid!
