Hey Bryan, long time podcast listener/watcher but not my first time watching your podcast because you are awesome. Protip, stop with switching back & forth so much between you & the guest... There is a military industrial complex but they are far from the profitability of tech companies. Just think about how many small arms manufacturers have gotten bankrupt, even Colt was close at some moment, luckily Obama's election just rocketed arms sales
Yup. Ryan's argument is a moot point. There is no industry then if it's not at the top. The MIC is HUGE but not as big as some other industries for obvious reasons. It also drives our economy.
Small arms manufacturers are Literally REELING From the Complete Fugazi Firestorm around Rapid Prototyped 3d printed metal plated PLASTIC GARBAGE. Sustainability should never be applicable to a Firearm Receiver
Exactly. Nothing to do with the supply chain, nothing to do with profit margin or shareholder value. When you have the largest military the world has ever known, and pretty much everybody in charge wants to make it BIGGER…. Might sort of be a clue there. We have fourteen aircraft carriers to Russia’s ONE. Do we think Russia is dangerously under armed? And we only have 14 because we play games calling the dozens of assault carriers a different thing but those would be aircraft carriers in any other country but us. If we stopped procuring *any* new weapons system what would happen tomorrow? Well we’d still have the largest. Best equipped most advanced fighting force for the next twenty years at least. You could make the argument that us’ lack of weaponry was dangerous in the lead up to www, but in reality the us navy was just as strong as it needed to be and we held off Germany AND JAPAN. IF Ukraine has taught us anything it should be that we don’t need 800 foreign military bases to fight the likes of Russia or china. And in the case of china hey maybe we don’t even want to get into an arms race we can’t win.

If we put about a billion dollars into it, I'm sure we can stimulate a home grown drone industry. We've done everything else we'll meet at. We'll build a nuclear bottom from theory.
Yes it takes a long time to make the fabs though so we'll be reliant on Taiwan for awhile no matter what. We'd also need more than a billion dollars to get on the level of Taiwan.
It's not so much of a consumer drone infrastructure funding issue that the "free world" lacks, it's more the ongoing software/hardware engineering development costs (compared to China) that allows them to produce fantastic state of the art technologies for 10-25 percent of our costs. Twenty-five years ago I was a software development manager paying contract employees $75-100/Hr. ($140-150 in today's money), and that was for average developers, not state of the art design engineers and system analysts. Doing a quick search of Shenzhen, China for software engineers, they earn $50K - $100K, about one-half a counterpart's salary in the Western world for the same skill level who are working "9-9-6" (9AM to 9PM working 6 days a week).

I love Ryan but talking to him about the MIC is like talking to a fish about water.
Finally, someone has a decent and objective and knowledgeable guest on Ukraine.
Callen - stop looking at the camera, look at the person you're talking to; looking at the camera is a duck move - be a hawk!
Bryan isn’t a Hawk He is a Dragon
Always nice to see normal people seek information from experts. Could you please help Rogan have credible guests on like this?
Gaza could have been great.
But they decided to dedicate all their resources to war.
The situation in Gaza is horrible.
Israel tried to set an alternate governing body an militia, Hamas killed them all.
I feel sorry for the innocent Gazans, both of them.
Gaza could have been great
but Israhell wants to take it all as it did since the Belfour declaration
it's the info age till how you will stay ignorant
Israel created Hamas. That's the part they don't tell you. Google it.
@@Leo_Pard_A4 There is just 1 now unless they got him as well.
Hezbollah keeps using Hamas as Cannon Fodder because the Arab World is as Sick of Palestine as Israel
i love how much of the video is just bryan looking at the other guy talking! such good editing
I can't wait to hear Bryan's comparison of Trump and Roosevelt, since he's been alive for both.
It's good to see Bryan bringing in people that know their shit. Bravo good sir, bravo! 👏 👏 👏
Hey its the jurassic park guy!
SEE! NOBODY CARES!
Newman!
No body cares you see 😂
Hahahah!
Your phone is absolutely listening to you. My uncle and I have both been testing this theory for about eight months now methodically making sure we don’t search anything for talking to the rest of the family about a certain topic so no one else can search it strictly sit there and have conversations about a certain topic and time how long it takes an ad of this random topic to pop up. 90 seconds has been the quickest so far.
why is the Camera panning back and forth so much? Our attention span has shrunk but the camera man is switching back and forth like he's watching a tennis match on coke.
It's post-editing, there is no cameraman required. And it seems it's a glitchy editing software too (if half-automated), or editor don't know how to use it right.
Funny listening to people talk about the military when Google is their main source of info 🤣
This guy is good, I've listened to his breakdowns before and he's fun.
Brian is a lot smarter than people give home credit for
Outstanding interview with my friend Ryan🤙
Bryan, go get your boy Rogan. It doesn’t seem like you two agree on Ukraine.
Rogans an absolute dumbass
Great conversation. Glad we still have you here on utube. Consistency! I want my videos
Love Ryan make sure have him back on once we know what Trump does with Russia/ukraine and Iran
I love these new episodes of 'Carlos and the Chicken'
Colt is now Czech owned🇨🇿
Ryan: Okinawa is 500 miles, Phillipines is 600, Japan is 1300, Guam is 1800. All distances are approximated
Good job, Mr. Google
I really appreciate that they got into the nuances of the Gaza/Israel situation.
Old Bryan getting his Dads CIA mates on😂
This guy isn’t cia……..
God the self righteousness
Bahahaha.... Fuck yeah ! We have CIA interviewing CIA now that's how bad the situation is for the empire!
@@jarettmeyer4929bro these redacts think everything is cia

Ryan is so awesome!!!
When are you going to have Chris Delia on the podcast?
They don't even know each other. They met once at the comedy club. that's it.
Chris is babysitting Brian's children
Truly off limits
OMG finally, some sanity from my boy Callen? Hopefully!
Give me some sane comedic relief man..
Reading the comments it’s like everybody knows everything instead of a guy that works in intelligence lol
Bro 😂😂😂 intelligence gets it wrong all the time.
yha, he is lying
Thanks, Bryan.
Damn, Ryan drinks like he's still active.
drinky fish... meet smokey chimney 🙃 ay yi yi
Bryan and Ryan hell yeah
is that what james bond looks like irl?
I live beside Mi6, they all look like flamboyant gay men. True story.
Yes

Love these two together. I was watching TFATK in a dingy apartment in Cologne before it was cool. That was in like 2014.
Have to disagree with Ryan regarding the effects of a Trump admon.
He openly prefers loyalty to him over professional conpetence. His appointees will be lackeys rather than subject matter experts.
yeah I'm thinking that's wishful thinking on his part. Trump and many of his main supporters have made comments about reducing or ending continued support for Ukraine or finding a quick deal, that I don't think Harris would have done.
I knew minimal gain could be gleamed from a Callen interview even if Bryan is my favorite intel toober.
Callen is like a bag of rocks in mental acuity 😂
Ryan is based.
You mean biased?
Ryan whoohoo!
@@jacksonklark6119won’t it be fun when tariffs fuck the whole program? It will be fun to watch, to be fair it already is hearing all the stories of companies taking bonuses away because of tariffs next year. Surprised pikachu from all of us. For sure.

This guy is the Peter Zeihan version of the very real American military industrial complex
Without a doubt, that's the best description / comparison of McBeth period!!!
I don't really follow. What is Peter Zeihan the version of?
@@hdaviator9181 an alphabet agencies stooge. But for economy. This guy is for the MIC
@@hdaviator9181 He used to be strategical analyst for oil companies in dodgy countries, mainly for US oil giants…His ideology is that America is the real world leader in all categories and that the rest of the world is just a crumbling failure.None of his predictions had ever fulfilled but to his credit he is a very good speaker and has a very reliable personality.
What top 3-5 things make you say that?
I love when Brian asks a direct question to an expert, and then cuts that person off while they are answering the question and changes the subject 😂
this guy lost credibility for me when he said Northrop grumman lost out on their yf-34. i can tell he was talking about the yf-23, and a huge reason why Lockheed got that contract with the yf-22 was because northop grumman had the b2 spirit contract, and the dod was trying to protect Lockheed with their own large contract. that was an example of the government protecting one of the defense contractors. saying there is no military industrial complex is just ridiculous
I agree with you on the MIC / iron triangle, but as a veteran alcoholic, the dude seems shit-faced to me from the start. Throwing them back pretty fast in the video too.
We can probably be charitable give him a pass on the wrong prototype designation. 😅
@@johnnycomelately9400 same, I can tell he was drunk the first time he said Himars. I love woodford reserve, and I drink fast, but not that fast

Well you do want to protect some of these guys because otherwise they get a monopoly and price gouge more than they already do.
Peace is inherently more profitable than war. I don’t know why people refuse to recognize this simple fact.
War destroys wealth very quickly
Great 👍 one and very prescient and interesting topics for consideration.
As a host he must ask obvious questions like about HIMARS for the benefit of the listeners. Give him a break.
No, he is just dumb and knows nothing about the war in Ukraine.
Ryan Mcbeth is legit. Listen to this dude
The cow says mooo..
Bryan I love you for getting him on. I don’t normally watch you’re things but I bet you watch unsubscribe podcast
Too many interruptions. I really wanted to hear Ryan explain why the small diameter bomb doesn't work. Please slow down the pace of the interview enough to allow the guest to finish a point. Otherwise, it's just noise.
