While steel for humans is a common saying (spread by witchers themselves too) there are actually monsters against which steel works well enough, so that they dont have to risk the delicate silver of the silver sword. And yes, humans are 100% considered monsters weak to steel in that regard.

Haze_light my concerns are combat, along with the leveling/skills system, exploration with all those question marks on the map which felt a bit of a chore. The quest, characters and story is something I have complete confidence it!

The beasts of the dark woods-whether monsters of fantasy or ordinary wolves-just want to survive, it’s people who hurt others simply because they want to. Of course in many fantasy settings monsters can think or hurt others for fun as well so that kinda messes with things.
And knowing Witcher world, now the village is done for, since there is no apex predator having it on its territory thus under its protection - hordes of smaller monsters will arrive, more primal and savage. ;) The "witcher" girl is Ciri.

I'm very much looking forward to your playthrough of Witcher 3 (I've beat it twice and am on my 3rd playthrough atm, plus the expansions). The expansions are very much worth it especially blood and wine. Hope you enjoy the game via a playthrough cause there's just so much you can do.
This monster might be her first of its kind, but she overcame even more then Geralt did due to her powers, she saved the worlds. Her fate was chosen not by her for most of her life, that is why she relates to this girl being sacrificed. Not sure if you're about to play witcher 3 so I don't want to spoil too much, but her path was complex and in some endings she can die, but as we can see now canon ending is where she lives.
As far as I've seen, a developer interview apparently stated a release date for Witcher 4 is possibly 2027, but regardless, you should have plenty of time to get through Witcher 3.
Geralt is definitely calmer and more collected because due to his witcher mutations he is almost 100 by the time Witcher 3 starts, Ciri however doesn't have witcher mutations and she looks early to mid 30s in the trailer, so she is definitely not as experienced. The only thing I'm confused about is Ciri took a potion and witcher potions are extremely toxic and possibly deadly to normal humans.
@@legion7518 I'm assuming they must have developed a variation of the Trial of Grasses since she had cat's eyes. The potion could have made the black marks appear but I wouldn't think it would change her pupils on its own.
Just to explain without any spoilers, Ciri the one in the trailer is Geralt's daughter. Not biological, they were tied up by destiny. You need to watch the show or read the books to know all the story. There's is also some in games, especially in W3 and that's all I am gonna say.😅 Check it out, when you have time. Its really good
witchers age much more slowly, so Geralt is much older than he looks, so he is a very experienced master. Besides, witchers were taught not to meddle in people's affairs, so he often looks so cold Cyril becomes a witcher in adulthood, so of course she has to show emotions differently
Ciri is arguably the centre of the novels and of the Witcher 3 even though Geralt is the main protagonist of both. If you play W3 you'll get to learn a lot about her.

Actually this trailer is a lot similar to a side quest which is actually a contract in Witcher 3 I bet you come across when you play it is that there is a monster in the forest in a village which actually protects the village from disease bad luck and brings a lots of prosperity and special abilities to the local hunters for hunting although it requires sacrifices of few hunters from that village some new generation of people there do not like this old tradition and heir you to kill it while one of the village elders urges you to not kill the monster but rather perform a ritual to continue its blessing over the village and you have to choose whether to kill or perform the ritual. If you choose to kill it the villagers will kill the elder and later when you come back to the village after few days the village would seem grim and people are not prosperous anymore and go hungry because the village was always dependent on the special abilities that the monster brought for many years. If its the other way around the village will remain normal as you found it before the contract. I think this contract shown in witcher 4 trailer is somewhat similar. This is the beauty of Witcher games no choice is perfect whatsoever and every choice has its pros and cons. There are lots quests in witcher 3 like this where you would be in a dilemma. Although while playing the witcher 3 I urge you to play witcher 1 and 2 they are not as big as 3 and while many people would say its not required I would definitely suggest you to play them they are as good as witcher 3 in my personal opinion and you would get more into the lore. The witcher 4 is still years away and you have lots of time before it arrives. It would take 1 to 2 months for you to finish them or even earlier depending on how much you explore. Either play them or watch their playthrough on youtube to definitely get the story of those 2 games before jumping into witcher 3.

Wow! you guys have SOOO MUCH to learn. PLEASE DONOT WATCH THE TV SHOW. Its pointless and horrible. Read the books and Play the video game series. Witcher 3 is the best game ever made. And it explains Ciri here.
This isn't necessarily contradiction, but Ciri has definitely seen a lot even before becoming a Witcher. The show and Witcher 3 can touch on the details but she's spent a lot of her life on the run and not even able to properly fight back. It's nice to see her being able to actually walk her own path and have the agency to push back on the inevitable adversity.
I saw "CD Projekt Red presents" and somehow knew it could only be "The Witcher 4", and the Trailer blews me away ... I hope they make it great, also in a good technical condition, not like Cyberpunk2077 at the beginning ^.^
Whilst it isn't essential to your enjoyment of Witcher 3, I can still highly recommend you play Witcher 2 first. It is a much shorter game, and it helps to set up several plot points that will also be relevent in Witcher 3. Its just a suggestion, though.
What worries me the most is that we risk losing another great studio. CDPR is one of the few studios still delivering quality games-they’re the only ones, really. If we lose them, we’ll have nothing left. And the fact that we’re playing as Ciri isn’t really the issue. The real problem is why we’re playing as a trans man who vaguely resembles Ciri.

The entire story of the saga is too long to write, but this was their beginning. In the next 5 books, she briefly acquired the knowledge and swordsmanship of witchers, the attitudes of magic, and mastered her ability to teleport in place and time. Her father turned out to be alive and he is the emperor of the invaders from Nilfgard. It was his plan to impregnate Pavette, who was also a descendant of the older blood, in order to gain and use Ciri's powers.. At the end of the book, Cirilla disappeared from Geralt's world to another using her powers at the age of 15/16.
She back 5-6 years later in the game The Witcher 3.
And yes! I've been a psycho fan of The Witcher from Poland since 2001, before the games even came out.

The expansions are very much worth it especially blood and wine.

This monster might be her first of its kind, but she overcame even more then Geralt did due to her powers, she saved the worlds. Her fate was chosen not by her for most of her life, that is why she relates to this girl being sacrificed. Not sure if you're about to play witcher 3 so I don't want to spoil too much, but her path was complex and in some endings she can die, but as we can see now canon ending is where she lives.

As far as I've seen, a developer interview apparently stated a release date for Witcher 4 is possibly 2027, but regardless, you should have plenty of time to get through Witcher 3.

Geralt is definitely calmer and more collected because due to his witcher mutations he is almost 100 by the time Witcher 3 starts, Ciri however doesn't have witcher mutations and she looks early to mid 30s in the trailer, so she is definitely not as experienced. The only thing I'm confused about is Ciri took a potion and witcher potions are extremely toxic and possibly deadly to normal humans.
@@legion7518 I'm assuming they must have developed a variation of the Trial of Grasses since she had cat's eyes. The potion could have made the black marks appear but I wouldn't think it would change her pupils on its own.
Just to explain without any spoilers, Ciri the one in the trailer is Geralt's daughter. Not biological, they were tied up by destiny. You need to watch the show or read the books to know all the story. There's is also some in games, especially in W3 and that's all I am gonna say.😅

Actually this trailer is a lot similar to a side quest which is actually a contract in Witcher 3 I bet you come across when you play it is that there is a monster in the forest in a village which actually protects the village from disease bad luck and brings a lots of prosperity and special abilities to the local hunters for hunting although it requires sacrifices of few hunters from that village some new generation of people there do not like this old tradition and heir you to kill it while one of the village elders urges you to not kill the monster but rather perform a ritual to continue its blessing over the village and you have to choose whether to kill or perform the ritual. If you choose to kill it the villagers will kill the elder and later when you come back to the village after few days the village would seem grim and people are not prosperous anymore and go hungry because the village was always dependent on the special abilities that the monster brought for many years. If its the other way around the village will remain normal as you found it before the contract. I think this contract shown in witcher 4 trailer is somewhat similar.
This is the beauty of Witcher games no choice is perfect whatsoever and every choice has its pros and cons. There are lots quests in witcher 3 like this where you would be in a dilemma.
Although while playing the witcher 3 I urge you to play witcher 1 and 2 they are not as big as 3 and while many people would say its not required I would definitely suggest you to play them they are as good as witcher 3 in my personal opinion and you would get more into the lore. The witcher 4 is still years away and you have lots of time before it arrives. It would take 1 to 2 months for you to finish them or even earlier depending on how much you explore. Either play them or watch their playthrough on youtube to definitely get the story of those 2 games before jumping into witcher 3.

Wow! you guys have SOOO MUCH to learn. PLEASE DONOT WATCH THE TV SHOW. Its pointless and horrible. Read the books and Play the video game series. Witcher 3 is the best game ever made. And it explains Ciri here.
This isn't necessarily contradiction, but Ciri has definitely seen a lot even before becoming a Witcher. The show and Witcher 3 can touch on the details but she's spent a lot of her life on the run and not even able to properly fight back. It's nice to see her being able to actually walk her own path and have the agency to push back on the inevitable adversity.

Whilst it isn't essential to your enjoyment of Witcher 3, I can still highly recommend you play Witcher 2 first. It is a much shorter game, and it helps to set up several plot points that will also be relevent in Witcher 3. Its just a suggestion, though.

I love how the witcher games pretty much wipes it's ass with the source material and the fans gobble it up. But you dare let a woman become a witcher and suddenly the loud neckbeards crawl out of their gooner caves. Geralt fights mother flipping Detlaff in a one on one and kicks his butt somehow and you're freaking out about Ciri 'the woman who carries the elder blood in her veins' becoming a witcher? Her becoming a witcher is literally one of the endings in witcher 3. Did u even play the game?
