    I rarely comment or subscribe. You got me to do both. Your videos are great. They're clear, concise, and audio isn't rambling on and on about nonsense. Thank you for sharing your work, it's very motivating.

    Hi Jon! I could watch your videos for days!! If you don’t mind me asking, what paints do you recommend to use and what do you like to Spray your pieces onto?

    • @JonBarberArt
      @JonBarberArt  3 года назад +1

      Hi Andrew, Thank you so much for watching, and for taking the time to leave these kind words and this comment, feedback, and the question I really appreciate it :) The paints I use are from the montana range, I use these because I like them :) other people like using other brands because they like them, All I would say is to try a brand and see if you like using them, like buy a black and white and 2 colours of a said brand and give them a go, then if you like them you can buy more of that brand, or if you don't then you could try another brand, This way it won't cost you much money if you don't like a said brand :) I hope this makes sense and you find it helpful Andrew :) Also, I like painting on Gloss paper but of late I'm also liking painting on canvas too :)

      Jon Barber Art after you cover the planets and then make the colours for the nebula, can you let that paint dry before coating it all in black and using the bag technique? I’ve been getting the ring around the edge and I’ve even let the planets paint dry before covering them

    • @JonBarberArt
      @JonBarberArt  4 года назад +2

      Hi Ocean, no i don't let the black dry because if you leave it to dry then the paint won't come off to make the texture has its dried to much hope this helps :)

    Jon, just finished watching your umpteenth tutorial, they are all so thorough mate and the results so consistently well done.Can I just ask you this, when you get the first image in your mind of roughly how you want a picture to turn out, do you always identify where your light source will be before you start creating the planets, eg shadows and highlights and the angles of rotation of each individual one, or do you rough things out before you start.

    Hey, quick question. How far away are you holding the can from the board the spraying? When I try to use the paper technique, everything just smooshes together and is doesn’t come out well. I think I might be putting to much paint, but I don’t know.

      Hi Iggy, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment and question i really appreciate it :) You may be putting down to much paint or too many layers , try just spraying a light coat of each colour and then pull the paint off to make your texture :) hope this helps.

    This has given me such an idea. Parts of the interior of my car have been sprayed Orange, If I coat it with Black, add the plastic bag and pull it off, will I get the same effect? Does the orange need to be wet, or does there need to be a wet clear coat before applying the black? Also, is the spray acrylic?

    • @JonBarberArt
      @JonBarberArt  3 года назад +1

      Hi Collie, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this comment and question it's very appreciated :) Yes the paint is acrylic based, Yes you should get a similar effect has the one i did , but when i did it the paint was wet before i put the black on, yes i used some clear coat to wet it back up, but i have never done it with the layer dry then adding the black on top so wouldn't know how well it work or if the effect would be the same but i hope this helps :)

    I love the image, but I think you went alittle too far with the stars. There are just too many. It kind of takes away all the color from the blues and reds, and kind of "masks" them in that white. Also, that big one in the center. Its alittle too much in my opinion. I think the image would be fine without it. It draws your eye away from the amazing planets and color and makes you stare at a big white star. Amazing work and plz keep making more.
