  • Hi guys! Thank you for watching this BEGINNERS Spray Paint Art Tutorial - Episode 13 (Planet Rings). In this thirteenth video in the series, I'm going to be showing you how to make and add different planet rings to your planets. This is a three in one DIY tutorial where I show you three different ways of making a ring around your planet the first one will be using a piece of card with some cut-outs in it, The second one will be using a metal scraper, and the third one will be using stencils to add the rings.
Below is the list of materials I have used,
    - Something to spray paint on like a Gloss card or a Canvas or whatever you are going to use to paint on.
    - Black and White spray paint ( I'm using Montana white)
    - Some colored spray paint (I'm using Sunflower, Sunset, Chili, Night blue, Bavaria, Light blue, Cactus, Grass-green, and Viper which is from the Montana White range for this painting)
    - Clearcoat (To seal the painting and wet the paint back up)
    - Something to sign your work with (like a palette knife)
    - A mask
    - Some gloves
    - A metal scraper
    - A craft knife (To cut your stencils)
    - Some space sheets of card ( To make your planet ring stencils)
    - A spare piece of card (To make the cut-out tool)
    - Pencil or pen (To draw the stencils)
    - Some weights (To hold the stencils down)
    - A round lid (To make your planet)
    - Something to make texture (Magazine paper, Newspaper, Plastic bag, or whatever you are using for yours)
I hope you will enjoy watching and find this thirteenth video in the beginners spray paint series helpful, If so please consider subscribing to my channel, and don't forget to ring the bell so you know when I upload new video's and please LIKE and SHARE the video it'll be much appreciated :)

Ok this one answers my question re: letting the planet dry once you've done the texture before you put the lid back on to cover it. It looks like that is definitely what you are doing.

Hi Aaron, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment I really appreciate it :) Glad to hear this video answered your question :) Yes, you want the paint to be dry before placing the lid stencils on, you will get better results if you let things dry first :)

    • @JonBarberArt
      @JonBarberArt  3 года назад +2

Hi Lyune, Thank you so much for watching, and for taking the time to leave this comment and questions, I really appreciate it :) The paper is glossy paper and around 300gsm, the fire is used to speed up the drying time of the paint (don't try it if you don't feel comfortable using it, as the painting can set on fire if you get to close) it's more of a WOW thing when doing it live in front of a crowd, The transparent paint (clear coat) is used to wet the paint back up and to add a layer of protection to the painting when it finished, hope this helps :)
