I used to normally grate the banana in my flour to make banana dumplings. It is a very nutritious dumpling. Now I am happy to know I can actually use the banana itself to make flour instead of adding it to flour. Thank you very much for this video. I will be eating a lot of banana flour from now on.

I dehydrate and powder the greenest bananas I can find. I add it to my smoothies along with other beneficial powders. In summer I like to make popsicles with my blend. Green bananas are known as resistant starch and are extremely beneficial to feed and increase the beneficial microbes that live in our lower intestine. Try to find them organic.

    1. Why do you wash the bananas? They’ve been inside a thick skin all their lives.
    2. Why do you throw away the skins? If anything they are more nutritious than the flesh.

i mean, the skins have way more fiber, so you would have to be used to eating e.g. okra to tolerate something made with green banana peel flour (brown peels of course being chemically on the way to breaking down, which is anathema to the flour keeping more than a day.) I've seen a guideline to maybe use 10% peel flour in flour in order to not upset stomachs, but people will vary in tolerances.

You can pair the flour with plain flour to bake bread. You can also use it for baking cookies, pancakes or for making smoothies.

yeah that had to be superstition or for when an open kitchen is overrun by bugs...hard to film in the kitchen that makes locust flour from the insects instead of the locust nuts though. Or, an excuse to find a burrowing bugs.
