Great review, Ben! And it is exactly the two models I am currently looking at (based on configuration availablity in Canada). Hope you can get over the 100k soon!
Man, the video I've been waiting for is here! Great comparison! I'd choose the Lenovo Legion 5/5i Pro if I had the money because of my limited funds and because I'm more into gaming.
and I would consider the Legion 7 with Intel chipset and GPU cos it would probably slaughter the 5i Pro. The current state of the market AMD cannot touch Intel
I did build your own on Lenovo website and the Legion 7 with Intel 12800HX was about $325 more after all promo codes and cashback, compared to the Legion 5 Pro I bought with Ryzen 6800H, now I'm starting to regret getting the 5 pro
Giveaway time about to arrive. Awesome review by the way. I was leaning on the legion 7, but I'm rethinking the 5 because of better export time. Thanks for the review.
I just bought a 5 Pro with the 3070. $1500 with the Discount plus Coupon I managed to find. The 6800H is more than enough for my gaming and data work needs.
In term of specs the 5 Pro and Legion 7 wont be that big of a difference. The Legion 7 looks and feel more premium. That aluminum actually isnt just on the back but it actually wraps around the entire laptop on the side/front. The RGB on the 7 just seems more "refined" and also of course more RGB everywhere. How do I know this? I was just at a local Microcenter and from seeing and touching them both you could tell which one cost more. If you go to Lenovo site, its a 500 difference but I personally dont think its worth it.
Nice work bro but don't u think it would have been better comparing the 5i with 7i models?... Coz they're both Intel, Instead of using AMD's 7 model against Intel's 5i
Hey Ben, thanks for your videos, it helps me decide. Im currently ready to make a purchase, But can't decide between the Rtx 3060 and 3070 8gb, both legion 5i pro With 32gb ram. Price difference is 210$ higher for the 3070. Dose it worth it ? My usage will be video editing and after effects...
Only 10.7K to go as of this morning! As for me, price will be determinative. The best I can get for the money I can afford. Luckily, I don't plan to upgrade for a few years.
IMO a combo of AMD (for quieter and cooler temps)/ Intel (for additional small features and software optimization) for CPU and Nvidia GPU (with most of the well-known software from adobe, Autodesk, and blender using CUDA and Optix for GPU accelerated tasks ) is a much better option than going full AMD even compared to the AMD advantage edition.
@@thomaskatt4450 eh intel + Nvidia systems always come out the first couples months each year. Now intel legions, probably not that long of a wait. But AMD LEGIONS? Yea youre gonna be waiting a WHILE for those.
@@Yog_Los_Mas well I got it on sale here in my country in PH. And at a cheaper price than an i7 legion 5i pro (2022). Wait there is more! Including in the sale is a free 16gb upgrade, so I got it on 32gb ram. Sweet!
The point made on 2:57 is kind of weird for lenovo since my 7i offers the exact same choices for gpu modes as the 5 pro in this video. I don't know why it was not available on this 7 model. Makes no sense that the amd version is not offering same control over its gpu in the higher spec model...
I was considering the legion 5 pro, but tbh seeing 71% Adobe rgb makes me a bit concerned, I mean there must be a similar laptop out there with 90+ Adobe rgb within the same price range (+ 300 or 400 or sth)
Ooh this is a great video, we need more of the 5 and 7 comparisons although the 7 looks much sleek and premium and also a tiny bit lighther. I somehow like the 5s look a little more, idk maybe because of how much I've been looking at the 5 pro it just grew on me and I love chonky look to it. But they're both beautiful.
Ben thanks you and your great content I ordered a "build your own" Legion Slim 7i yesterday. Upgraded display, Rtx 3070 and second 1tb hard drive

i am getting a laptop random freeze issue, its just been less than a month after purchase

Just the video I need at the right time! Thanks ben!
Watching this on my legion 5i pro (12700+3070ti). Definitely a solid pick would 100% recommend.
until you compare it to the Legion 7 (12800HX+3070ti)

If you stop watching these you won't regret buying that tbh. It's already a great machine that not alot of people can afford to buy
You regret choosing an amd over intel or a legion 5 pro over a 7?

Legion 5/5i Pro never disappoints me to its overall reviews🔥

@3:05 - 3:07, opening the lid at such high angle, why the legion 7 (right one) screen flexes in the middle and is not completely straight?

I had saved more when I purchased my predator i9 12th gen with 3070ti. The price is much less than the legion 5i pro. Best deal I got 👍🏻

It is VERY odd indeed!
I think it’s the competition. That’s why intel + nvidia has always been top notch with performance than all AMD.
When in doubt always go 7. More metal in the build and better cooling.

It doesn't make sense
5 pro more GPU control less RGB
7 less GPU control but more GPB
WTH ⁉️⁉️⁉️
