    The top lid of the 2021 model looks way better imo. Plus you can toggle whether you want it on or off.

    Another great comparison, Ben, for me you can still choose the 2021 model if you don't mind the slight decrease in performance compared to the 2022 model. The pros are that it is much cheaper, and you can still find the RTX 3070 in the 2021 model if you want it only for gaming. The upgrade of the 2022 model CPU does not create a huge gap in terms of cpu performance.

  • @AAA-xc4zm
    @AAA-xc4zm Год назад +22

    If you're going for the 5 pro, there is not a big difference between the 21 and 22 models. However, if you consider the 5i pro, there is a huge gap in performance and in my opinion makes the 22 5i pro a no brainer if you could afford it

    No comment on the RAM being a newer version that works differently (DDR4 to DDR5), no commentary on the SSD PCIe version being newer (Gen 3 to Gen 4), no commentary on the 2022 model having USB4 in one of the USB-C ports, no commentary on the USB-C charging support going from 100W to 135W, with some asterisks. The upgraded thermal design did get demonstrated in one of the tests. Glad I got the 2022 model.

      Yep those are indeed missing here.
      I have one question. Would you have considered going with the Zephyrus G15 2022, or the Legion 5Pro 2021?

    • @ahgflyguy
      @ahgflyguy Год назад

      @@jupiteruniverse8683 I'm unfamiliar with the zephyrus. But I actually did have a 2021 L5 pro for a few weeks in mid 2022. The ergonomics didn't work at all with my wrists / desk combo that I was using at the time. And I'm glad I took it back, because that allowed me to get the 2022 L5pro in early 2023, which had the stated improvements, as well as bumps in the CPU and graphics card. Oh, another thing that was left out of the review- The 2022 L5pro also gets USB4 (in the AMD model). I don't think the 2021 AMD model got that. And I don't know if there was an intel model.
      Also, having 4 ports that work as 8k60 graphics out is pretty sweet on the 2022 model. The 2021 model doesn't have that, nor does the 2023 model. I really like my 2022 L5pro. I hope to use it for 4 to 5 years.

    They're both great in different aspects as you shown in this video but I would definitely choose the Legion 5 Pro (2022) over the Legion 5 Pro (2021) because of its latest cpu and gpu, and for me, I like the 2022 design than the 2021.

    In my country, 2021 Legion 5 Pro 3070 is now around $1300. Whereas the 2022 version w/ 3070 Ti is $1700, so last year’s model is definitely worth the price for $400 less

    • @Nick_Gir
      @Nick_Gir Год назад +1

      If it's the Intel version it's not worth the 400 in savings because you will get more performance. And have 1-2 years of being more future proofed for your purchase. As well as the better 3070ti which is basically a 3080 in termf of performance it's just a hiccup behind and is definitely a head of the standard 3070

    Recently got the 2021 model for £899 from Ebuyer in the UK, and couldn't be happier with it. Absolute beast of a machine. Gorgeous 1440p 165hz display. Lightning fast, built like a tank. Only 25 left in stock, so if anyone is on the fence, bite the bullet, you will not regret it! Amazing price for an amazing piece of kit. You really can't get better for under £1000.
