Good idea to make a video like this, especially if you're selling all of these models. I thought you sounded best on the A3 and that may be because it's an easier horn to play. Once our sound gets out into a big room or Concert Hall most of the small nuances we hear up close are lost. I've heard players that sound quite rough up close sound great out in a hall. I remember hearing Phil Smith say that he used piccolo trumpet from time to time on certain high touchy passages, and he said no one knew the difference out in the hall. And for those naysayers, no, it's not called cheating. It's called being smart.
Thanks for the run-through Trent! So, you mentioned Benge a few times. I have a LA-era Benge 3 ML bore. Which Adams horn would you say is most like it? The A5?
we're hoping to have a comparison video with the new recording setup soon! We're trying to get an A8 into the shop long enough to make a video. They always sell so quickly! You can hear a lo-fi comparison here: ruclips.net/video/xbmz8GcxaFo/видео.html
Do you and the Adams team take suggested ideas? If so, can Adams and/or Austin Custom Brass make a chorus or opera trumpet? Kind of based off of the Selmer Chorus and the Olds Opera horn.
Ask them not me. I own my own company and I don't work for them . Highly unlikely though if you want my opinion they're going to make a one-off just because someone's interested in that. The olds opera most certainly no they wouldn't as that wasn't really a good horn design and it's not popular. If you like the chorus I'm assuming you're talking about Selmer try the new A1.
80 % is The mouthpiece. Not the horn . SORRY. Tell the customers the truth. However Horn is important. The MOUTHPIECE. Analysis of all his videos confirms this.
Trent Austin yes , Horns + mouthpiece, mouthpiece + horns. This combination- sometimes puzzling. Still a puzzled . although I used one MP for 20 Years now. My body kind of less quickt results with less Practice now.😀. I get Curios again. Let’s see What happens.::

Thank you for this video on explaining the difference between each horn!
Hey Trent! Would love to see the same instrument with the same configuration but with different bell material Adams to hear the difference in sound!
I'd probably have to do that at the factory next time I visit.
Absolutely gorgeous horns.

Definitely the a5
Hey Trent, if you ever get an A8 in the shop, can you do a video with it and the A4?

I like the A2. They all sound like Bachs to me but what do I know
6:40 9:50 12:30 16:07 19:29 22:02 26:04
is the a3 good for playing orchestra and classical quartet?
Please reach out to the shop (email in previous reply). Far better than trying to have a discussion via YT chat ;-).

It's a team effort. Both factors are involved. But acb mouthpieces do help :). Thanks for your note.
