This song first appeared in 1944, as I did, and is a letter to a soldier serving overseas in WW2 to his love back home. Geoff's velvety voice is so smooth. He has said that it sounds like like a gorilla sining a lullaby. :) He is so multi talented. Wonderful arrangement, and a lovely reaction. Thank you. :) I think I"m past harmonising with him now but a few years ago, maybe :)
Great reaction to a great cover. Geoff is incredibly talented. I love him in Voiceplay and I love his solo work. Between arranging, filming, editing, and singing/performing there's not much he can't do!
Song originally by the Mills Brothers back in the 40's during WW2. Its a song about a soldier writing to his love, asking for her to wait until he returns. The lady in the video is his wife Kathy. He is singing to her.
Geoff is just amazing. He can sing so sweetly like this and Shenandoah, kitchy and funny like Way Down and Bare Necessities, and scary like the Rains of Castamere. And he's a nice guy who loves his wife and son. The whole package! Thanx for the reaction!
Great reaction. As you can tell he was singing directly to Kathy. They love each other very much. Soulmates. They also were the only ones at Pattycake Productions, the studio, filming this. Usually Layne, Tony and their assistants are there. He decided to take January off to rest. But decided to do some handyman work around the house and spend quality time with Kathy and William (5 year old son). He is now working on a new video. Voiceplay released 2 videos recently. Nothing Else Matters by Metallica. In My Room by The Beach Boys.
I listened to both. I went and listened to the Mills Brothers then Geoff. Geoff made it so much more romantic. The way he's looking at and singing with that sly smile to his wife Kathy tells you a lot.

Couldn't agree more!

Such a lovely serenade.

If you haven't already you should check out his cover of Blackbird
Geoff has a great voice but not everything he sings needs to be in his bass voice
????
Hence why he sings harmonies, and adds solos in his upper range? 🤨
