Oriental Style Asian Inspired Decor // Elegant Dinner Party Table For Late Summer!!!

- Today, our elegant dinner party table has an asian oriental style inspired decor for late Summer. I am using some bold colors of course with traditional chinese red with accessories and black with our tablecloth. I get to be creative with my tablesettings and this one I think is very different than my usual style. I am planning on using my asian and oriental decor for this coming Fall season. If you have been following us you saw in a recent haul where I purchased this tang horse in red ceramic from the thrift store. I love this horse just as it is. The color is perfect for our oriental theme. Red is a perfect accent color for a
chinese tablescape. Oriental style is a bit more minimal, but we are not minimal that is why it is an oriental style Inspired table. I show you how I put together a fabulous easy floral arrangement in our thrifted vase purchased earlier this year. We are using our white and gold anniversary set of china by Essex. I also decided to use our gold charges as well as our gold flatware for this look. I pulled out some of our oriental collection out of the cabinet and accented our table with a bonzai tree as well as some vintage chalkware pieces that we have. It is so enjoyable to step up your style and showcase something different and step out of the mundane. I as always listen to you while starting my morning routine. OK , big mistake , I choked on my Earl Grey , stumbled , bumped my platter of crescents sending them about the table , strawberry went scuring , I just , ....well breakfast was mission failure , brought out napkins and we had a bare hand eating style breakfast , just did not try with knife and forks , plates . I was shaking still just with my tea cup , I hope i will recover enough to view this video at lunch , lol. Another bare knuckled lunch . I am sensing a trend here.

The perfect choice of dishes on that black tablecloth is just gorgeous with those red napkins. The decorative red objects (dishes, figurines, bonsai tree, etc.) complement PERFECTLY this table and makes it "stunning " - Of course your flower arrangement is what this decor needed. Well...this gave my little Asian heart the warm and fuzzy (i'm half chinese). You're right on the money with the color combo! Hello Jeff and Angela, Playing catch up again! Your showing your recent finds at Michaels etc. and I’m just getting around to commenting on your Asian table setting. Of all your tables, this is, to date, my favorite! This is partially because I am particularly fond of Asian art, partially because the color scheme was so delightful to the eye and partially due to your obvious enthusiasm for the pieces used. The red and black color combination drew me right in and demanded my full attention. Again wondering why this was so powerful, I did a little research and here is one excerpt I found:
“Some color combinations stand the test of time, through trends and fads and color ins-and-outs of the design timeline. Black and red (sometimes with a bit of white) is just such a color scheme. The combination is inherently aesthetically powerful, with red’s association with and representation of life, vigor, and fire, and black’s dark, grounding force. It’s not surprising that the balance of the two classic colors, black and red, is showing up more and more in modern design spaces.”
I enjoyed everything about the table. Two favorites were the way you placed the napkins and the red horse. That horse was really something. It looked like either a powerful wild horse standing on a plateau overlooking his domain, or a warrior horse awaiting a samurai to mount. Either way it sets the stage to spark the imagination of all at the table leading to scintillating chitchat during lunch (dinner?). What a delight for all of the senses. Not sure of the gold, but I think it stood alone as another mood enabler. I found myself want pure white dinnerware, but I guess, unless one uses plastic, white probably is not available LOL! Thanks again for such a peaceful, happy and delightful interlude into our lives.

Jeff, I’m inspired to serve my teriyaki stir fry on my bamboo plates. That’s the best I can do but there very pretty. I don’t have any nice accessories to go with them but maybe I can find a few things with nice clean lines if I look. Your table turned out so nice. 👍💕

We use them but once or twice a year each ! That s how they stay nice ! Everyday is a lesser set takes a beating with kids at home ....I would not do a table to show them no ! ....LOL ! there are a few that would never be used !

Chargers from Michael's...hobby lobby has too ! Sweet and sour chicken...egg drop soup ...bird nest soup....shrimp egg rolls ...stir fry veggies !!! All easy !
