I've been on a 3-year search and was looking at Southeast Asia but it just didn't quite feel right. I'm coming from Canada and this video almost makes me want to cry. Paraguay is going to be an intense focus for me now for the next couple of weeks.

Spent three months in Argentina. Looks like Paraguay's supermarkets have a much more complete selection and variety of foods. Maybe reflects Paraguay's more capitalist based economy?

Saw another vid where they briefly spoke about guns. They are double the price than what you would pay in the USA. Mostly from the Czech Republic, Israel and Turkey. USA will not sell arms to Paraguay.

Most likely the US imports the meat you eat from Paraguai or Argentina so you ought to know if it's tasty!!
The difference is that in Paraguai as in most South American countries it's fresh and in Europe and the US it comes out of freeze houses where it could have been stored for a few week, months or even years!

In the U.S. beef and any red meat in general has gotten so expensive that people are really avoiding buying it. In most grocery stores, the red meat section has shrunken a bit, since the beginning of the pandemic. More pork and chicken are sold. Beef is still available, but it is much more expensive. (About the only place where you see the beef trade to be the same, is Costco.) But, this is having a secondary impact, as well. In restaurants, beef dishes are significantly more expensive and some places have found ways to get it out of the menu. Thai restaurants make more larb (a meat salad) with chicken, rather than beef. Vietnamese restaurants increasingly serve chicken pho. A 12" steak and cheese sub sandwich typically costs about $15 now. Even in fast food, you can see the impact of higher beef prices. All dollar menu burgers are gone, since the pandemic. At McDonalds, the old $1 double cheeseburger costs between $2-3. Even the ~$1.80ish "McDouble" (with two beef patties) comes with only one slice of cheese, which is their way to cut costs and maintain the basics of the product. Finally, a couple weeks ago I heard that beef inflation has even impacted Home Depot and other stores that sell BBQ grills and equipment. Fewer people can afford to grill red meat. The market for grills is declining. So, the emphasis you guys take with the beef on these videos is really relevant for those who are trying to find better food prices. Thanks!

From what I have seen, beef liver is only around $2 (US) a kg. That's a great deal for grass-fed/finished beef liver.

6:25. I absolutely loved the comment, "if you come from a socialist hell hole like Australia". Literally tax on your tax in Australia 🇦🇺. It is not governments role to micro manage your buying decisions through taxation and regulation. The West is no longer best unfortunately.

Both, tap water is usually fine. Maybe you get a stomach ache once or twice a year at first then your body adapts. Most of the population drink the tap water. I buy bottled water because of the brand and it's pure. Won awards before for most purest, chemical free water in the world. Gond Wana

Depending where you shop. Beans or instant will cost more or less. Depends on the supermarket. In the wholesale warehouse bulk style supermarkets. 20-30% cheaper and in the upperclass supermarkets like casa rica for example, a few dollars more expensive

Don't forget that Paraguay is a poor country yet, you will find bad places here also. Also think about climate, super hot in summer and today 28/05/24 cold , maybe 10°C. For sure there is no perfect place in world.
