OMG I’ve been looking for this clip FOREVER! This is my friend Saca and I back in 1995. Can you find the follow up show? I was a returning guest because several men wrote in wanting to me.
The 90s were a strange time.. Ladies were wanting that "older man" type.. for some reason "the dad" was very in fashion. 😅 I had a few female friends end up pregnant in their teens - having partnered with men in their 20s. I never understood it, but I'm neuro-divergent 😂 Hopefully times have changed and kids stick to their own age groups ❤ It's just safer and healthier until they're in their 20s and can be a bit more clear headed.
@brittaneycoates6587 as a mid 20s woman, I wouldn't have an issue. My issue lies with preteens and teens with men outside of their teens. That's child abuse. Period. Full stop.

I always liked her show. She was backed by the same people who backed Ricki Lake. The plan was to have her either be the lead-in or lead-out of Ricki Lake. In some markets that happened. In other markets it didn’t, namely my market Baltimore. Tempestt aired at 9 am and Ricki aired at. 5 pm. Ricki Lake’s show was more accessible as a late afternoon show. Tempestt only lasted a year due in part to unflattering time slots. Fall of 1995 was also the year that everyone and their grandmother had a talk show: game show host Mark L. Walberg, former TV stars Danny Bonaduce and Garbrielle Cateris, and Carnie Wilson. Not to mention the established juggernauts: Oprah, Sally, Maury, Geraldo, Jerry, Jenny, Montel, and Donahue (in his final year). I think there were no less than 2 dozen talk shows on the air that season. There was just too much competition. I actually think that of all the freshman hosts that year, Tempestt had the best chance of a second season renewal because of her show’s pedigree. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be.
Thanks for sharing! Tempestt aired at 11am here in Chicago, followed by the second run of “Ricki Lake” at noon. To your point, there were just too many shows on. I don’t think the formula of “Ricki Lake” could successfully be copied, which is why so many of those shows never graduated past their freshman year. The cultural topics from the younger person’s perspective was the difference maker between Ricki and the others. Charles Perez (a former Ricki producer) came very close to replicating that formula, but I feel some of the topics were a bit too polarizing and the broader audience just couldn’t relate. IMO if one show actually had a chance to see a second year, it was probably Carnie. She had the highest rated show of “the clones” but still not good enough.
The “Raised by Ricki” discusses this particular era of the 90’s. One of her former producers discussed how many of the shows simply got the wording wrong, starting with the title of the episode. Ricki was young but she was ambitious, inquisitive, relatable and not afraid to put herself on the hot seat. I didn’t see much of that with the clones. Sure, we knew most of them from our childhood, but hardly any of them showed much empathy when given the mic.
Of all the freshmen shows that debuted fall of 1995, only Tempestt and Mark L. Walberg got full season pickups. If I remember right, Danny Bonaduce got axed in December, Charles Perez and Gabrielle Cateris kicked the bucket in January and Carnie made it through February before it was curtains for her. She was my second favorite new host that season because she embodied a Ricki Lake and Jenny Jones persona. Her guests were bonkers but she maintained control with maturity. Carnie aired on stations that would later replace her with The Rosie O’Donnell Show which premiered in June as a summer test run I believe. Before the summer was over, Rosie was picked up nationally in September 1996. Once Rosie’s show took off, it seemed like that was the end of syndicators trying for the tabloid shows. As the ‘90s began winding down, more Rosie wannabes tried their hand at hosting in a variety format: Howie Mandel, Roseanne, Martin Short. I still think Tempestt had a the best shot of succeeding due to the fact that she and Ricki Lake had the same production company backing her: Columbia Tri-Star Sony Television Distribution.
Just gonna leave this here, for those allergic to paper.. "Sacagawea is best known for her association with the Lewis and Clark Expedition (1804-06). A Shoshone woman, she accompanied the expedition as an interpreter and traveled with them for thousands of miles from St Louis, Missouri, to the Pacific Northwest" Books are mostly good ✌️
I remember watching this show in '95 when I was 13 and it was one of my go-tos, after Ricki and Jenny. Watching now, Tempestt was a very good host, I love the show's vibes, it's like a slightly more unruly Ricki. Definitely deserved another season or two!
Huh man!!! Ain't no way there could be another option because King gone always have my best interests at heart and men know men even if they don't know each other personally, feel me.

Omg, this is wild 🤣🤣. Alisha is absolutely gorgeous 🥰💯. I’m disappointed and relieved at the same time after finding out this is a fake storyline. 9:47 tells it all when Alisha says “say something so I can say ‘I remember that, Chris’.” She says it twice. I commend her for coming up with something to say when Tempestt asks if she has something to say to Chris. Their stories aren’t really adding up either lol, still entertaining 🤷♀️
10:31 " Chris do you love Alisha"? Hesitates to answer and then pretens not to have heard the question to cover up the fact he hesitated. Major red flag.
Second dude is too insecure. He even said Jamau's phone calls slowed down once they got together. That's proof right there. Wasn't satisfied. His fiance said she told Jamau to stop calling so much out of respect for their relationship. Still not satisfied. He hasn't gotten over his ex cheating on him and now she's suffering for it.
Even though "Tempestt" didn't last long, it was awesome to see this lost gem from the 90s and it was the sister show from Ricki Lake.
