when i was growing up watching Ricky Lake, she looked so much older and seemed so mature. Now looking back at this now i realize she looked so young and just carried herself in such a mature way. The 90s era was weird but much more respectable

Hi. I was on an episode of The Ricki lake show between 94-96 I believe. I was very young so it’s hard to remember. The episode was titled something along the lines of “you changed/saved my life, and now I want to pay you back/and I have a surprise for you. I know this is a vague description but I have searched the internet and cannot find it. If you have access to episodes then maybe you can help. A brief synopsis of the episode is that my stepmom wanted to thank my biological dad for being amazing to her by bringing me (male) and sister to the show to meet him for the first time in our lives. Another guest was in a car accident and her car caught fire and as she was burning someone reached in and pulled her out and saved her life and she wanted to thank him personally. Thank you in advance if you can help at all!

I’m the son the Jaime and Brian. I can’t believe I found this after so many years 😂. As for an update. I’m now engaged and our son’s 2nd birthday is today (same age I was when this aired) I’m 31 now. Haven’t seen Brian since I was about 7. He’s still a POS. My mom is a successful business owner and has 3 other kids with my step dad. 2 are twins. And our lives are amazing

I was actually the 18 year old guest on this show, I can confirm that this show has not defined me. I’m 47 now have been married for 21 years with 4 beautiful successful children, my first son being born when I was 16 years old, yes I was a little girl, I wouldn’t change a single thing my son came into this world for a reason. I’m a proud mother of 4, with a beautiful grandson from my son that I had when I was 16 he’s a successful man has a family of his own is living a beautiful life. I am an owner of a successful business. “Never assume you make an ass out of you and me” thanks for all the positive comments!!
The selfishness and the lack of self respect on the stage is infuriating
Ricki need to do a re-boot and see where some of these guest are today; updates. How their live has changed and their outlook on life today and thoughts on their younger selves - what would they do differently. I love all the old talk show back in the day, Sally, Geraldo, Tempsett, Queen Latifah and the Richard Bey show was the best raw and uncut...lol!

Like I told my daughter years ago, that having a baby won't keep a man. Men leave all the time. Just like my dad did (I was the 3rd child). Not that all men are dogs but women shouldn't have children unless they can be the sole provider. I'm glad my daughter, even though she made some bad decisions on the men in her life, but she works 2-3 jobs to take care of her three children. They are 17, 15 and 14 but they aren't out there committing crimes like some teens are doing.
So no one is willing to acknowledge if you are having unprotected sex you are clearly getting pregnant on purpose? They are just the ones willing to admit it.

We should all be thankful for the talk show era. We learned a lot as a nation and are still learning from these interviews and stories.
My friend does this. Every man she has been with she has told them she is on birth control and then takes pills to get pregnant to "trap" them. She is on her 6th child now and isnt with any of their dads and has none of her 5 other kids. The dads end up with the kids and she just moves on to the next man then has another baby. Its insane. She is 31 and is still doing this. This baby she is pregnant with now she said she got pregnant because the guy she was with had a baby already with someone else and she didnt like the other baby mama so she got pregnant to show the other woman shes not the only baby mama now and isnt in control. The guy found out she is pregnant and left her. Now hes saying hes taking the baby when its born. And sadly he probably will and she will move on and have another baby.

my friend from high school had just given birth and I went to the hospital to go see her and the baby. She had a really rough labor so they had her on a lot of pain medication so she was a little high😂😂 as I’m talking to her mom and holding the baby, her and the baby’s father are sitting on the bed napping. She wakes up, laughs and turns to him. He said “what’s so funny?”
She said “now that the baby is here, you can’t leave me. It worked.”
A year later, after a crazy custody battle, he moved to a different state and has the baby every other week.

Once he took the DNA test & by no surprise, I turned out to be his..... He still didn't wanna be in my life cuz he was too busy gettin other women pregnant. Although I'm his 1st born, he took more care of his other kids than he did wit me. I'm 23 now & trust me... I refuse to make the same mistakes my father make. I know a girl who was just as delulu as vicki. She got a guy Initial tatted on her, claiming him as her boyfriend when the only time she’d see him was when we went to the club in his city(we stayed about 30-40 mins) . we’d get a room to have to drive back home until the morning. he come have sex with her, then leave. Never came to our city to see her. no dates. Never helped her if needing something. She was big slow and like vickie, you couldn’t tell her anything.
