It's a BO15 and sure to be a super epic battle. Total prize pool $8,000 for this tournament made up a donations from individuals.

Excal vs vivid - World Series 2023 grand finals. What an epic day and epic set
No words to describe this WS, definitely one of the best I have witnessed so far. Good job to Vivid and Excal, I think Vivid will be the WS champ next year. GGS!!
I think that demo rebel ambush was a slap in the face for vivid to focus on the game , after that mistake vivid turned into a beast

Yes fast palace and battle bus. Or alternatively outspam with rpgs and quads.

I always used to say selling CCs is a huge mistake. The advantages of an early 1k does not outweight the risks of getting hunted. We saw how the entire world series effectively was lost to that mistake.

Game # 8 when vivid was SW v China V . Why did Vivid quit . He had a dozer and did some harassment and took down an airfield. And denied excal from an oil . He could of gotten another supply and get back in the game
Hey there! I'm a complete noob and youtube just happened to recommend this to me the other day. So I have a noob question: isn't picking US and spamming Humvees with Missile Defenders inside clearly the best possible thing to do in this game? I'm 3 hours in and the only real counter I have seen to this is the buggies which take a while to get to. Am I missing some layer of strategy here?
It's true that humvees are some of the best units but they're not perfect:
1) they're glass cannons, high damage yes but low health. They have to be micromanaged really well because they're easy to lose
2) they do have counters. For GLA the best counters are bugees but technicals also work ok if they're micro'd. For China migs with black napalm will just absolutely wreck humvees. They need an avenger (which is slow and expensive) to protect them. ECMs are also good at deflecting humvee missiles and disabling then picking them off.
Humvee counters take a while to build up and sometimes need a tech building so yes humvees are definitely really good in the early game. But it also takes a while to build up the humvee numbers too and they require great micro.
Also you typically don't get to pick your army. The format of pro tournaments is random reverse so both players are assigned armies and map positions randomly then swapped for the next round. Pro players have to be good at all armies.

Haven't watched yet but here's my predictions: any set with gla vivid will at least go 1:1. Any set without GLA, vivid will lose 2:0

Why do they start the games and quit immediately?
The format is random reverse. So they have to get assigned their armies and spots randomly first. Then the next round is the reverse of that. They restart so both know what the matchup is

Lovey your casting Domi. One feedback: the constant jumping around with the screen via clicking on the map makes it harder to watch. Even when you're following a battle you sometimes use the map to move around and I think the mouse will be better and smoother.

Sellin your cc against Excal - utterly stupid
Sellin your cc in the final game of WS against Excal - stupid beyond any measure. I mean who am I to complain, but why, why would you risk a few thousand of $ only to boost your economy with additional 1000? Man. Wonderful set tho, Vivid gave so much fight.
Many many build orders just don't work without selling your cc. Even for those that do, if you don't sell your cc and your opponent sells their cc they will have the upper hand because that $1000 may seem small but it's very important in the very early game. Getting dozer hunted is also not inevitable if you sell your cc. There are good ways to protect your dozer: boxing, mines, putting it in a Chinook or generally just having units at the entrances to your base intercepting.
Not selling your cc is sometimes viable, it basically means you're playing passive and that works for some players for example BiGSiZe. But usually it's too passive and pro players will punish you for it.
It's easy to be an armchair critic with these things but I can guarantee you every player that made it to top 8 can beat you in a 1v1 easily.
@@somedude5990 That 1000$ actually puts you in a great risk and makes you nervous, because being hunted becomes a new possibility, you have to pay atention all the time and can't really focus on other things. Also it costs you 1000$ more later on and delays using of general promotions, because you have to wait for the thing to build. Not worth it at all. Check replays and see how many games are lost only because of that. Against some random players - ok, but against pros, and esp. Excal, it's usually ridiculously stupid.
Excal has to pull the dozer hunt lame
Its in the game , there is nothing wrong with dozer hunting . You either can cover your dozers or dont sell your CC
