that's exactly why they have been more and more cultivaded, they can eat the plastics, and their excrements can be later used as fertilizer, i'm not sure they can sustain on just plastic though, but they can still be useful, the only problem is that they grow into beetles that don't seem able to do the same, so they only have a few weeks to do that before they go into metamorphosis

I tried Surströmming when I did the time lapse video of it, and yes I agree it's very unusual, but I liked it. I'm not from Sweden, so it's very new to me, but I think most people who try it gag because they take it as a challenge and try to swallow a whole fish... or chew a whole fish. Just the fish, no bread, no nothing. That's not how anyone suppose to eat Surströmming, am I right? Take a thick slice of fresh bread (even better if it's freshly bakes so it's still warm), spread butter on it, and then season it with surströmming. Cut onions into chunky pieces, it goes very well with it. That's how I ate it, and it was delicious.

And if we're feeding them beeswax, why not also try paraffin wax? If they can digest synthetic polymers such as polystyrene, it'd be interesting to see them try other solid petroleum derivatives as well, especially if they liked pure beeswax.

The key ingredient of chocolate is theobromine which is a natural insecticide very similar to caffeine.
