Thank you for your wonderful RUclips channel. I enjoy watching and learning from your examples. I’m self taught on opal cutting and polishing. I started with sandpaper and leather for polishing. My husband bought my first cutting machine from a neighbor, it was an old O’Brian faceting machine but I used it for cabing and it worked for me. Then he got me a machine that looked like yours only it didn’t have the Nova wheels, this was back in 1974. Now I have a good selection of Opals but I don’t know how properly grade or price them. Any suggestion about learning to grade and price opal would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Yvonne

If you were cutting a round gem would you consider putting it in a mini lathe and polishing it with papers, etc to make the round dimensions more true than eyeballing on the wheel? Just a question, definitely not a critique as you are the master...I only daydream.
