They want to maximize profits and minimize loss by being as strategic with market penetration as possible as opposed to doing anything and everything in the hopes something sticks. It's good for them, but it sucks on a creative level as all projects, big or small, require capital investment, meaning we likely will never see truly outlandish ideas or projects ever again with an existing intellectual property.

You could respectfully bring her to your home where your family did crack as well. Years and years later, I still think it's crazy that an officially licensed Nintendo product took the Biblical Old Testament story of Samson and made it about Donkey Kong. I'm disappointed he didn't beat anyone to death with the jawbone of a donkey, but maybe that would have confused viewers.
I really like that Dunkey is laughing about that being Dixie while she looks like she is about to cry. Like she can hear his mockery. Also, Donkey Kong's sad song is too good for this show.

At least one Nintendo lawyer knew about this idea before it was executed. It happened anyway. This idea made it past storyboarding, dialogue recording, and animation. An editor put it together. A LOT of people were involved in making that idea become a reality. I just don't understand the world anymore.
This is like an Anti-Dunkey episode. Usually, in a Dunkey episode, he comedically exaggerates an aspect of a game and makes statements that are so incorrect that you can't help but laugh. In this video, everything Dunkey states is factual and he simply lets the show speak for itself.
The strangest part of this show is that despite how fucking horrible and weird it is..The dude who sings as Donkey Kong is legitimately really talented. That's a great voice.

Drained of his defining strength, and crushed under waves of self loathing, DK wails his sorrow into the cold unfeeling world in this chilling musical number. Many have speculated that the plane's erratic flight pattern prior to the opening verse is deeply rooted symbolism, for the rise, fall, and redemption of the biblical figure Sampson, which this genre defining story took it's inspiration from. Perhaps the infinite blue void symbolizes God, or a deity of some sort that Donkey Kong laments to. When viewed through this religious lens, the line "Can anybody tell me what I've done wrong? I'm all alone and I'm so confused." can be seen as DK questioning his faith, and for once opening his mind to the prospect of a truly random, and chaotic realm in which he is absolutely alone. While chilling to think of, this scene is iconic because of the several possible interpretations of what lies in Donkey Kong's mind, and beyond. No matter how you view it, it's hard to deny the chills that sink to one's bones when hearing DK accept his grim reality as, as he puts it, "an absolute zero." This effectively canonically chronicles DK's decent into nihilism, which of course forever echoes in the DK mythos. Just as Walter White "died" in the crawlspace, and emerged as something new, The same happen's to DK, as we see the downfall of the Kong family in years to come. Of course, as God allowed Sampson his strength back for one final righteous slaughter, the bulls-eye banana restores strength back to a whole new entity, one that only barely resembles Donkey Kong on the surface. Overall, this scene is timeless, and damn flawless too. I've yet to see another like it with as much thematic relevancy, and raw emotion. Truly, a perfect scene.

I mean there's a difference between a reference and straight up stealing a plotline from another media. I pretty much believe that all work is derivative from some other work in some shape or form, but they just copy+pasted that story into Donkey Kong.

In the iconic "I'm Nobody's Hero" scene, we see the prodigious Donkey Kong at his lowest point. Drained of his defining strength, and crushed under waves of self loathing, DK wails his sorrow into the cold unfeeling world in this chilling musical number. Many have speculated that the plane's erratic flight pattern prior to the opening verse is deeply rooted symbolism, for the rise, fall, and redemption of the biblical figure Sampson, which this genre defining story took it's inspiration from. Perhaps the infinite blue void symbolizes God, or a deity of some sort that Donkey Kong laments to. When viewed through this religious lens, the line "Can anybody tell me what I've done wrong? I'm all alone and I'm so confused." can be seen as DK questioning his faith, and for once opening his mind to the prospect of a truly random, and chaotic realm in which he is absolutely alone. While chilling to think of, this scene is iconic because of the several possible interpretations of what lies in Donkey Kong's mind, and beyond. No matter how you view it, it's hard to deny the chills that sink to one's bones when hearing DK accept his grim reality as, as he puts it, "an absolute zero." This effectively canonically chronicles DK's decent into nihilism, which of course forever echoes in the DK mythos. Just as Walter White "died" in the crawlspace, and emerged as something new, The same happen's to DK, as we see the downfall of the Kong family in years to come. Of course, as God allowed Sampson his strength back for one final righteous slaughter, the bulls-eye banana restores strength back to a whole new entity, one that only barely resembles Donkey Kong on the surface. Overall, this scene is timeless, and damn flawless too. I've yet to see another like it with as much thematic relevancy, and raw emotion. Truly, a perfect scene.

I believe it's called a reference. A LOT of media borrows from or is inspired by other media, the Bible, etc.
I mean there's a difference between a reference and straight up stealing a plotline from another media. I pretty much believe that all work is derivative from some other work in some shape or form, but they just copy+pasted that story into Donkey Kong.
I think we should just take a step back and realize the Donkey Kong TV show is making biblical references. This show has transcended creation and has achieved Nirvana. Why question it? Simply bask in its glory.
