Why is it so hard to make decisions? There are many answers to this question but I have been able to narrow it down to 6 factors which are; the information we have at the moment, our mindset, second-order consequences, our inclination for instant gratification, energy levels, and lack of planning.

The reason why we default to the not so best decision even though we are aware that option A is better is called defensive decision making. We chose the other option due to thinking it’s safer, or cannot hold accountable if option A doesn’t turned out as we thought it promised! It’s an excuse which can lead to procrastination!
