Low cost and reasonable performance are more important than full self-driving for me. I don't use FSD for short trips because it is slower than I like to drive. It is safer, to be sure, but has to creep forward at intersections and more cautious at merging into traffic and observes speed limits. On highway trips or getting to hard to find places, FSD comes in handy. Having to keep my hand on the steering wheel is aggravating, and the car is prone to disengage if my hand pressure is not spot on.
I'm a Canadian and my concern is how well Tesla cars model 2 would stand up in a typical brutal Canadian winter. Having the lights and heater on constantly must have an effect on how many Kms I would get out of each charge.
EV is not great in cold weather. The battery alone while parked will lose nearly half of its charge when freezing cold.

According to the video the range is based on efficiency so if there are more lights used and wipers plus loss or range because of battery temps. It might not be the best option. Battery capacity will be less. and things that effect that will greatly effect actual range.

And no, I do own a performance version of Y, and in cold temps, the battery loses its charge. And it has to heat up to charge too, so that's another source of loss. So don't just assume you're right. You are absolutely 100% WRONG.

While Tesla is promising a lot with the Model 2, I’m curious how they will manage to balance affordability with all these high-tech features.
Most of their high tech features are software. Tesla software is cheap because its proprietary. I believe the issue is manufacturing. If they can metal stamp the model 2 in one die like they want to, then this car will be easy to make & therefore financially attainable for the common buyer. (My 2 cents)
The Model 2 Redwood’s automatic cleaning feature is a novel idea, but I wonder how effective it will really be in keeping the car clean over the long term.
So if the T2 is $22,000, does that mean the battery pack will only be $10,000 when one of these has a minor accident? If so, I might consider buying one. Of course, for EVs to really take-off, the range anxiety problem and protection of the batteries when involved in minor accidents need to be fixed. However, lowering the price point to $22,000 is a big step in the right direction. If T2 can be constructed for $22k, then so can most other vehicles, EV or ICE. This $50,000 to $100,000 price point for run of the mill cars/trucks has to stop.

To lower the price of electronics. Driven by the Chinese market. Hence forth, the reason Tesla is in China may, help get into the control of Electronics parts needed to produce circuits for Tesla’s cars. So, they are able to cut some costs.
i used to use beta because i want to help advance the tech but after tying it a couple months i couldnt get past the limitation to not being able to block the interior camera.... you make me turn on the inside camera then i turn off the tech.
i wanted the model y until i saw it was an ugly version of the 3. i want a wagon version of the model 3 i need the rear hatchback to be nearly vertical if it was on air bags where i can daily drive at 2.5 inch above ground and i can lift it to 11 inch in SUV mode i need curb hopping ability because i hop curbs in my truck almost on the daily if i can get my low car to be curb hopper gets my $$$$$ im not looking for model x luxury but it doesnt have to be a cheap model 2
