    Tyler: Really like the way you don’t let “Perfect” be the enemy of “Good”. Is the change “good enough” to accomplish the desired end state. It’s even better when the change is accomplished with an investment of minimally necessary time and resources. Good Job on the bale feeder trailer.

    Learning to know when something needs to be good enough, and not necessarily “perfect”, is a valuable lesson. A lot of times “good enough” will suffice.
    Also, you practice welding project made a great short.

    why not ay down fence panels or angle iron side to side flat along the floor and weld to the side posts. It would add strength and be "below" the cargo space or at least out of the cows way. May not totally solve the issue but I think would help.

    I think the problem is with the original trailer frame. My guess is that it is just a simple ladder frame made out of channel iron. That’s the way camp trailers are typically built. What the frame needs is a torque tube. Put a 4” pipe between the frame rails near the center of the frame from front to rear. Yes, bigger pipe isn’t cheap but you should only need 5-6 feet of it and just about anything used will work.
    Visualize if the trailer was only three pieces, frame rail on each side and a piece of pipe going side to side in the middle, the pipe won’t want to twist and that will keep the two rails in the same plane. Channel iron by itself has almost no torsional strength so you need to add something that does.
    I had this problem myself decades ago and every trailer I’ve built since has a torque tube.
    Camp trialers don’t have them because there’s enough shear in the walls to stop the twisting.

    Is there a reason why you can’t bring a bale in the back of your truck, then just move the hay wagon 20 yards or so, then dump the bale from the back of the truck? Would stop a lot of back and forth driving and less wear and tear on hay wagon!

    3 questions.
    1 - Did you re-weld that one spot you were talking about in the beginning?
    2 - Why do you keep using the same spot to bring the feed wagon, especially when there’s all that mud?
    3 - What was the scraping noise while you were going down the dirt drive near the end of the video?
    Thanks for sharing. Have a good day. ⛅️

    My thoughts are with tipping the trailer on its side and welding some cross braces on the bottom. It would be a pain in the neck to do. But it would be worth it

    • @wmschooley1234
      @wmschooley1234 6 месяцев назад +2

      Would the additional expenditure of time, materials and effort in tipping the bale feeder trailer on its side really "be worth it"? If the desired end state is defined as strengthing the trailer and re-welding crack, the question seems to be what is the minimally necessary time and resources needed to accomplish the goal. Respectfully, W.S
