That cutting went so smooth - you know what you are doing, the corral system works so well, love the black flag and paddle, much better than the whip we had . You have set up the shoot to work so well with just you. The Galleger is amazing. Got a kick out of the fact the calves didnt care too much. Job planned , well done FTR.

Great results with the calves. As you were talking about how from now on their diet will be hay, it got me to thinking about Pete with Just a Few Acres and how he spreads composted manure over his fields. I know he has a means of collecting manure and wonder if you have thought about doing that and perhaps improve the quality of your hay even more? Just curious. If you ever need a cheap old hand to help, I’d love to come shovel poop, help with butchering chickens or whatever. Really enjoy your videos

Having weight data allows FTR to make some useful decisions. For example, concerning the low weaning weight calves, should they go to market now or should he feed them in hopes that they will catch up? Hay is a limited resource and it could be more beneficial to only feed out the best weight gainers. Also, the data could help cull out those cows that consistently have low weight calves. FTR is going to be burning the midnight oil studying these numbers!

Tyler, I truly enjoyed this video, and your cattle and calves are looking very healthy. I approve of the way you feed your cows, allowing them to have as much as they want to eat. I think sometimes I watch some other farmers, who limit or ration the amount of grain and hayand pay they’re allowed to have is not the best way to see if I’m stuck…. For one thing, as you stated, in this video, the larger the animal room, or they’re going to shove other smaller animals or more intimidating animals out of the way! .. this is especially true with goats and sheep when they keep them together, adults and babies… The babies never are allowed to come up to the trough for the feed and they only get to eat if there’s anything left. Other farmers will get used to carrying a canned fall of grain out to say a dozen chickens, but then they end up getting more and more chickens and roosters and they still use the same size I can. This is frustrating to me, but I don’t say anything, so I’m so glad you have a healthier approach to feeding your cattle.
Thank you for taking the time to videotape this for our benefit. I think you handle separating the cows in the cows very well and continue to include us whenever you can. Have a great week.❤❤❤❤❤❤
