If you use MCCC to increase the maximum number of Sim in a family, you can get much more. 20 Sims in the family = §200 for each dirty plate or trash pile.
If you put the moveobjects cheat on, you can take that trashcan and make it look like a cutting board on the kitchen counter. It then hides the fact that it's slightly ugly and your sims can still use it. I do it all the time! If you just click and drag the dishes though you never have to worry about them washing them instead.

Yeah, my experience is that I only get $10 per Sim when I drag it in, but if I have my Sim throw it away, then we just get $10 total. It doesn't look like that's how it works for others, though, i.e., in this video.
The portal in the magic tree opens every 12-ish sim hours. After the first exploration, going in will gain your sim elements or crystals, up to five per exploration. If it's been "too much game time" since your sim explored it, it will give out another plantsim seed. It will then return to giving out other items. I believe I also got metals once. Pros; gives lots of collectibles at a time, is "pretty" and looks good on spellcaster or "fairy-style" lots, for instance. Cons; takes up a ton of lot space, its look is unchangeable, if you don't pay attention to when the portal opens, you'll miss it pretty quickly.
I did not know it could give you crystals or metals!!! It’s been ages since I used it but I guess I never knew so never got the timing right and only ever got plant sim fruit. Can’t wait to try this again!
Another Con- one time i beraly had any space on the lot and i put the stemp with the beans kinda near the egde of the lot and when the tree grew is spawned outside the lot and i had no way to remove it so i just moved out into a different world😂
Thanks for the tips. I am a fan of the VENTURE BROS. cartoon, so I created their family in the game. I built a lab in the basement and used that laser light object to light up the giant test tube from GET TO WORK. In the test tube, I placed a boy mannequin in each and turned on the light. When the room lights turn off, the test tube with the Venture Brothers clones in them, light up. Those wacky lights with the bubbles floating up really make a great effect. In the cartoon, the boys being accident prone, can be replaced with clones grown in the lab. So, I love that laser light machine.

I started using the trash can during the Eco Lifestyle launch. There was a bug where if you didn’t own ECO, your outside bin would overflow and there was no way to empty it. The recommended workaround was to delete your full bin and buy a new one, but I bought the NanoCan instead.
The collection of sugarskulls could be a neat "side goal" for a lengthy legacy play perhaps. I tried once, When a sim dies, you can go to their grave and do an interaction at NIGHT (can't remember the exact timeframe), then you will get a popup message that someone special is in the area, and you can go to them and ask for a skull. You have to be polite and get to know them a bit before they are PERHAPS willing to give one away. I made a graveyard lot for my legacy, and I think I collected 4 skulls before I moved from PS to PC

Have all of the Sims aged child or older search for seeds in Patchy's pocket every day.
...if you're doing the 100 Baby Challenge, that bin is a game changer. Also, you get 10 simoleons per sim in your household, so you'll make that money back quicker than you think.
The trash can gives 10 per sim in the household. So like if there is one sim you'll get 10 each time but if you're in a legacy save with 2 adults, 2 kids, and an infant then you get 50 each time you trash something. It comes in super handy when you have infants on a long or normal life span, because you can throw away their diapers and bottles in it for side cash. Also for the backpack, you can't put food directly into it, but there is a lunchbox item that allows you to put food in it, and the lunchbox item can be placed in the backpack, like a legit school lunch. Which some players find cool/useful for if they're trying to be realistic and actually pack a backpack for their kid.
Is the lunchbox in the base game? I remember there being one I pulled out and tried to use one time (not sure if it was base game or one of the packs I own) but the game wouldn’t let me click on it or do anything with it. Maybe I was doing something wrong or maybe it wasn’t the right lunch box?

Love the bin. You can drag objects into it. It takes plates, glasses, uprooted plants (if you don't have an outside bin), trash piles from repairing objects, and dirty nappies, baby bottles, and pet yuck (poo and hair balls.) AND another aesthetic hack is you can size it down and put it in a more attractive bin (except, depending in rhe size, there will be little lights hovering.) I have a cc bin that is just a tad bigger than the magic bin...it fits inside perfectly, with no evidence, but it's still functional. #magicbinnerd
Btw, if you read the descriptions of the Sugar Skulls in Build/Buy mode they tell the story of a chupacabra in Oasis Springs killing off a group of people which I think the skulls are supposed to be named after.

Put a Lin-Z in the kitchen to remember to use it while cooking. Talk to it and play your sim's favorite station while cooking. Use it to build dancing skill. The coolest thing about having a full relationship with Lin-Z is that when it detects a hungry household member, it orders a FREE pizza. If it detects a mess on the lot, it orders a free maid. If it detects something broken, it orders a free repair person. I love it.
I’m only on the backpack part right now so I’m not sure if you’re going to cover the lunch bag, I’m not sure what pack it came from but there is a lunch bag that you can pull food from it like a fridge but it’s all food that wouldn’t really be in a lunch bag and it costs 0 simoleons so it’s a very cheaty cheat for rags to riches or something tbh

I thought this was just my game from all the mods I have, but I guess not. Lately whenever I download something off the gallery it just completely breaks my game & I had to do what you did & manually shut off my game. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.
You just need MC command center or ui cheats, one of the the too (i am not sure cause i have both) then click shift on sim, then collections, then you can choose which one you want to complete, then the skulls will appear in your sim's inventory
The PlantSims are annoying cause you literally can't feed them if you have seasons installed, cause there are just monsoons every day in summer in SimNation. So I downloaded a mod to fix that problem.

The Nanocan is the only bin I ever use 😅I don't like seeing trash build up, and yes, getting simoleons back each time it's used is nice.
The trash can is a must! I only wish it had more color swatches..
i downloaded cc for this bin, it still works the same but there’s swatches in every colour so it looks good in any build

did you know about the tree you can explore in the base game? it lets you inside with a whole little area to walk around in.
The drag and drop method works best because Sims will often combine piles of trash so you will end up getting less in the long run.

3:15 This seems redundant. The sim inventory is virtually infinite. I could only see this item as acting as a partition, though.
