Good luck with your surgery. I had a septoplasty and turbinate reduction to help with my breathing. The turbinate reduction caused a lot more bleeding and discomfort. Hopefully, yours goes smoothly. Took me about a solid week before I started to feel better. When they intubated me they did it kind of rough and scratched up the back of my throat, which made eating a lot harder those first few days. But, the outcome was well worth it as I can breathe a lot better now.

Wow. That’s terrible they were so rough. Here’s hoping they are a little gentler on me. Appreciate your response and I’m glad it eventually worked out well for you.

It's not even about how it looks (which I didn't even notice, btw) but about how well you can breathe. I had corrective surgery for a deviated septum over 30 years ago. Went well, although I still get the occasional nose whistle, especially when sleeping, which wakes me and drives me nuts. I found this little silicone nostril device that keeps them open and really helps. Tried nose cones (hurt) and nasal strips, which left red marks.
Hope your surgery goes well, and you'll finally be able to breathe and have the appearance you want. It's uncomfortable for a few weeks, and you won't have a sense of smell. Food will taste like ......nothing...and you really don't want to sneeze....but you'll be surprised at how many smells you've missed..or not! Let us know how the consult went! 👍🏻🖖👃🥰
