Makoto being killed hit me hard actually. I was shocked for a couple minutes, but then I remembered it's a show about Swindlers. But I think Makoto had a mental breakdown for real, because everything he said was true

I honestly fell for it. When Makoto betrayed his crew and started that whole rant, it felt so natural that I thought that this is the big conclusion, this is what it all lead up to, they messed him up. And now his father, who barely seems to care about him, kills him to save his own skin. Makes sense, such a good ending to this amazing anime.
SIKE, no he is actually fine and everything is cool between everyone. This anime has drug dealers and child trafficking but killing one of the main characters is just going too far?
I mean, it's an anime about con artists. It was all just part of the heist. If they did something like that for real though, I wouldn't complain

I hate how every character lives, and the only actual character death is Makotos mom. Not even Dorothy dies, after being shot and falling into the ocean with weights on.

@@BonazaiGirl It doesnt need character deaths, yes, true, but Makoto should have died here. It would have been heartbreaking, but the fact that this whole thing was staged is honesty ridiculous. They had a tragic, emotional ending to an amazing show on their hands, one that makes sense, and they ruined it because they weren't brave enough to kill one of the main characters.
@@mhm77887if all anime ends bad with good characters who tragically die it's kinda annoying, even if the character had a sad, dark life, or past, and if mentally he's "tired" they don't need to kill him just to make the anime impactful, I mean, practically 80% of animes have a sad, tragic ending it's repetitive

idk why but I kinda feel bad for the Old lady I think she lost her son and then treated makoto as her own and then basically "losing" him but it doesnt justify her actions

Well in my opinion it doesn't really need that because every Case is about back story' about the character past and how they deal with it. *Spoiler* Maybe if you talk about the consequences, Makoto's mother dead because that plan and I don't know exactly the reason, she fall because his husband got arrested and there's no further explanation.
@@master2math809 I get that logic, but when they keep faking deaths again and again, then to me at least, it becomes frustrating because there isn't any stakes because they will never be killed or harmed in a way that can progress their story.
@@Firehawk873 Never adored Laurent.. And his final development as a negative character that just Exploits Makoto over and over again just for revenge was absolutely well made (Especially when you know what kind of person he was before meeting Dorothy). But the ending turned out kinda childish

I wish Makoto finally had some agency in the story in the ending. If the final heist was him getting Laurent and his dad captured that would actually be a super fitting end to the story. But no, he's just manipulated by Laurent and Oz for a fourth time and there's no stakes because no one ever dies. Fun.

Man, although I really enjoyed this show, I was unimpressed with them using the fake blood trick THREE times. The first time was awesome, second time was weird, third time just had me thinking "are they out of ideas?" Like I don't necessarily want Edamura to die, but DAMN that would've been one hell of an ending! Or at least use a different trick. I still greatly enjoyed this show though, but I just think it fell a bit flat.
I agree. It would have been such a heartbreaking yet logical ending. We saw him break, he literally joins the mafia, so him turning on his crew felt natural. Him threatening his father also felt natural. The fact that his father would be willing to kill him isn't shocking, he was clearly a cold man.
But no, he just forgives the others for everything and goes along with the plan? Why? It makes no sense at all. Such wasted potential.
If it works, why change it?

I think it's better than an ending where only the good characters are killed just because they had a sad life or mental breakdown and because they're just too good to have a happy life after all, and when characters betrayed their friends just for some reasons, seriously

I thought it was real and was so bummed out that they didn't get a cool sendoff or anything and then edamura turns against the rest of the conmen and eventually 'dies' himself. That one made me sad too, but thankfully they were all alive and I got tricked as hard as the people they were targetting LOL

The one thing I dislike about these kind of animes is that the characters with amazing potential are not given enough of an opportunity like big action scenes or mind-blowing planning with them alone in the limelight...like Edamura in Great Pretender and Sakura in Naruto 😢

Yeah, the ED and the anime is very good. It was about a cons man and there Will be many plot twist with explanation about character background. It was very good in my opinion, you should watch it. This anime have 4 Case (Arc) with 23 episode.
