    I put a 60T Chain ring on my X3 Pro about 2 weeks ago after watching your review of it. I does make riding the bike better, but on my last ride (about 15 miles) I threw the chain 3 times. It was always in 8th gear, and after hitting a good bump in the road.
    Looking at the angle of the chain between 8th gear and the front sprocket, the chain is at its greatest angle of deflection off being perfectly straight (that's 1st gear). While I have nothing but "logical guessing" to back this up, I am guessing when hitting a bump, the rear derailer bounces also, allowing slack in the chain that makes it way all the way to the front sprocket, which ends up being enough to allow the chain to pop off the teeth. The chain also always ended up to the "outside" of the pedal, which make sense to me as well in support of my theory.
    I think the key to this is the chain guard on the front sprocket. In looing at the stock 52 tooth sprocket in relationship to the chain guard, should the same condition exist/happen with the 52 tooth sprocket, the chain guard may provide enough of a "blocking action" to prevent the chain from popping off.
    I am going to search for a larger chain guard (looks like around a 10" diameter will work) or look to a local shop to fabricate one for me. If I am correct, this should eliminate that issue...could be a niche market here for someone to look into!

      Mine did to at first. I introduced the new ring in my 1000 mile H6 review and mentioned I was having a hard time dialing it in. Then after some miles, micro adjustments to the derailleur and the ring breaking in on the X3, it stays put. And yeah that outer ring would solve the problem without the micro adjustments and break in time. I found a ring for my new bike that’s 58t with the guard built into the ring. It’s really cool. On Monday I’ll hit up my cnc guy and bring the 60t to them. All they’d have to do is copy the ring without the teeth. Good idea man! I did art for their snowmobile racing team so they’ve been wanting to return the favor. Her’s the project. Shoot me an email when you get a chance. Tat2xtrace@gmail. I’ll hook you up with one.

      Quick Follow up...if you look at the stock setup, the front sprocket is mounted to the inside of the crank set, with the chain guard to the outside (make sense). This puts the front sprocket to be in line the best with 1st gear.
      I switched these...put the guard to the inside, and sprocket to the outside. I really don't know if the guard is needed, but I put it on anyway.
      This now puts the front sprocket more in line with 3rd or 4th gear, greatly reducing the angle of deflection when the bike is in 8th gear, which everyone knows is most of the time. I also noted there is now more clearance between the chain and rear wheel when the bike is in 1st gear. That is a plus as well.
      I haven't taken a long ride on it yet in this setup, but my short trip around the neighborhood gave me high hopes. Shifts felt more "definitive" as well, which may be due to balancing the angle over the center of the rear sprocket more now.
      If I feel then need to move the sprocket out a bit further, I noted the chain guard will go up against the sprocket directly without interfering with the chain, so it would effectively become an additional spacer.

    • @TheE-LightenedArtist
      @TheE-LightenedArtist  Год назад

      Yeah tried inside and outside the supports. Common sense said to run it on the inside like the original but for some reason I got better results on the outside. But I don’t ride hills as much as you and shifting rare. The concept of using the cover as a spacer is interesting.

    I've been bitching about this on Wallke bikes for over a year. The top gear is too low to handle 20 mph or so without moving your legs as fast as Usain Bolt! It sucks! Thanks for pointing this out, I was hoping that there was a fix for this!

    Follow up on my 60T sprocket experience on my X3 Pro...I moved the chain sprocket to the outside of the crankset and used the orignal chain guard as a spacer to push it out the max distance I could with the parts I had. I've since put about 40 miles on the bike, and so far, so good...zero chain pops. I am hoping that remains the trend! I really like the way the 60T "works" vs. the 52T, so I am very glad this worked!

    Excellent video. I have the Aniioke A7 Pro which was sold by Wallke when I bought it, and looks very similar to X3 Pro. My bike starts to ghost pedal at about 19 mph, but goes about 33 mph with the motor alone. Super annoying. I'm definitely going to try this out.

    Love your video, just ordered the bike and the chain ring too. Other question, what's the tire pressure are you running? I believe the manf recommend 25-28 PSI, just wanted to see what others are doing.

    • @TheE-LightenedArtist
      @TheE-LightenedArtist  2 месяца назад +1

      I'm running Tannus Armour so I'm in the 17-20 psi range. Remember that new 4" tubes have a break in period so they go squishy fast at first. So you'll want to check pressure every ride for the first few rides.

      Problem with these chainrings without the cover is if you hit a bump hard enough the d-railer will bounce forward and knock your chain off. So ya gotta play with adjustments till it settles in. I just got a 58t with a built-in guard for my new bike. pretty cool.

      I looked a little closer at the crank. Looks like you can actually change the chainring. But it’s a 4 bolt pattern so might be hard to find a descent chainring. So yeah maybe the above crank arm set with chainring is the way to go. Just be sure to get a crank arm puller. They’re cheap.

      I just looked at the F2 online. Yeah totally different animal. I’d be willing to bet it has a freewheel instead of a cassette in back too. So depending on the motor connector, you might be able to to upgrade that freewheel a little easier than messing with the chainring.

      Unfortunately the newer Wallke bikes are coming with fixed chainrings. So you’d have to replace the whole crank. I like the one piece because of the dual chain guard though. So you’d need to switch out the freewheel. I’m working on a video for that.
