    The ProTaper SELA (Self-Engaged Launch Assist) solves a problem faced by all riders by featuring a self-engaged twist dial, allowing SELA to be easily set without any assistance. This revolutionary holeshot device gives riders the freedom to practice starts and line up for races by themselves.
    During a start, SELA makes it possible to temporarily compress the dirt bike's front suspension, reducing its tendency to wheelie under acceleration. This optimizes rear wheel traction, allowing the rider to be more aggressive with the throttle and launch down the start straight with greater control.

    2:00 the fact that you just clamp this around the
    fork (by the looks of it) is so much improved over
    the other brand I saw today..

    Does it just attach to your fork guard?? like just into the plastic...

      Yes. There are two screws that screw in from the back.

      They give a template that has different heights you can install it at. The higher setting is for dirt with less traction or a concrete start, you have a middle, and a low (lots of traction). I tend to go with the middle setting or a universal setup. - Chase

      The knob on the fork guard has to be turned for this device to engage.

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  3 года назад +1

      @@xd_gangster693 There is tension on the spring when you set it and as soon as that tension is release (hitting a bump or compressing the forks), the spring unloads and the hook that keeps the fork down returns and the fork can move freely.

    I just got the 2021 KX 450 and the plastic on the bike is total shit. The number plate on the front of the bike ripped into three pieces on the first truck ride to the place why ride. That thing would probably rip the plastic on the fork. You lose half the mechanism and I also have to buy a new Front fork plastic.

      @@rmatvmc The SELA definitely requires maintenance or it WILL stick. It is specified right in the instructions to flush it daily with water. I learned this the hard way when I had one on my Husky 350. Currently installing one on my KX450. Nice for practicing starts on your own.
