I really thought I knew my G9 inside out but you've provided some really useful tips that I didn't know were possible with my camera, such as the press-and-hold to temporarily assign a different function to a button. Keep up the good work! 👍
Good video content. First of your videos I have seen. Came to learn more about the G9. I was initially surprised that you have such confidence in that magic arm on the stanchion, and thanks for showing us the “behind the setup” view of it too. I was then impressed by the sound quality of your recording, as I did not hear what I would expect to hear (halyards, or wave slaps, or other rigging or wave noises or wind noise. The audio (your voice narration) was clear and crisp and easy to hear well. Good job! Subscribed based on this first video, and hope to learn more from you about the G9. Fair Winds (+ Dead Cat). :)
Thanks for the new tips. I had bought my second G9 on Friday. I still love the camera and use it with the Olympus 75 1.8 and 25 1.2. Both lenses make a similar look when filming.
Thanks 🙏 I am going to do a breakdown of my rig(s) in a future video, so keep an eye out for that. What I can say though is that the smallrig cage for the G9 is very nice. They’re a bit hard to come by these days though
Hi!Setting the shutter speed of lumix g9 to be only the lowest shutter speed at 1/125 can anyone advise me! The highest setting can be set but I don't see the low setting here.Thank you!
@@vojtekvojtek3599 The A mode (aperture priority) is a semi-automatic mode in which you have no control over shutter speed. Try S (shutter priority) instead or M (fully manual)
@@luismoran7176 In my opinion, if it’s hobby photography that your going to be doing, the G85 would be a good pick. However, if you’re planning on printing photos, the G9 is the better pick because of the higher megapixel sensor. It also has better weather sealing and more advanced photography features. But it’s also more expensive.
@@RedFrameTech thank you so much for your help and fast response 🙏. @@RedFrameTech it looks great 😉 Do you have an experience with Pana 12-35 f2.8? Don't you think that Leica version have an variable diaphragm, but better sharpness and colour overall? Thnx
@@AkrilFarb I have used the 12.35. It's good, but I prefer the look that the 12-60 produces, even though it's a variable aperture. In my opinion the Leica 12-60 is the best all round lens.
On the G9 i had the lumix 14-42 pancake power zoom. Which, honestly, is not the nicest lens. It is compact and very light, but slow (f3.5-5.6) and auto focus performance is not great. Still keeping it though for a light setup for use with lots of light. On the GH6 I had the PL 12-60
This camera has a recording limit of just 30 minutes, which is very bad when I'm filming a long-term event, and it also heats up a lot. The camera is excellent for photography, but for working with videos of events and long interviews, it is very bad because of the recording time limit of 30 minutes, and the camera turns off every 10 or 30 minutes.
I get around the recording limit by using an external recorder for longer form recordings. And because I like using an external monitor anyway, I don't mind that work around at all. Keeps the camera cool as well.
These tips are helpful. Thank you.
Thank you for keeping the g9 going! I love mine and am glad people like you are still producing videos that help keep that wonderful camera relevant.
that was Great! Thanks!
Thank you for these tips. I am very happy with both my G9.
Very helpful, thanks
Appreciate the confirmation🫡

I ditto Dylan Boyle's comment. Thank you
thanks from Melbourne... really concise and informative ... safe sailin'....😎
Thanks! 🙏 great to see I have viewers from Australia 🙂 I hope to sail there one day
Thank you, the frame maker is very helpful
Super helpful tip about using Peaking with the Monochrome Liveview. Thanks!
Super good ideas and explanations. Those of us who own one know that it s a wonderful photo and video tool.
I hope your channel

Thank you! And you’re welcome 🙂
I knew all of the tips but stayed for the nicely shot video :D Keep up the good work!

Goed om te horen. Veel plezier met de G9! En de Leica 12-60 is een geweldige lens
Thank you for keeping
Very useful, thanks!
My god, I use the iso button every single time and I just never noticed the iso limit before.
Also, thanks for explaining Frame Marker. The book I have on the G9 controls skipped that one-maybe it was added as a feature after he wrote the book.
very useful!!

Fair Winds (+ Dead Cat). :)
The magic arm was a bit tricky 😂 but it was a calm day at sea, which also helped with audio.
Happy to hear you’re enjoying my content!
Great information and Tips. Recently subscribed and enjoying the calm and clear presentation.

Looking forward to how well the G9 stands vs the GH6 in video, please.
There will definitely be a comparison video! 🙂

Can you zoom in the picture, while recording video, to check focus with manual lenses?
Not whilst recording unfortunately. The only Lumix camera that can do that is the GH6
I’m looking into buying a Panasonic lumix ,which one would you recommend, the G9 or the G85 ? Thank you for your help 🙏
That really depends on what you want to do with. The G9 is the ‘better’ camera, but you might not need that depending on what you want to do.

TIP 1: the G9 can´t be used with internal microfone as the camera it self makes huge system oprating noises ( fan ike) !
Great tip! I wouldn’t recommend using the internal mics on any camera though. It’s really just for scratch/reference audio
@@RedFrameTech :)...just finding out: it´s picture stabilization and AF which generates noises ! greets
