Hi, thanks for your feedback. The car was reviewed before it was tested by NCAP - if you read the blurb underneath you'll see a correction to say that it got a 5 Star rating. The written review was also updated accordingly.
Can I ask how you KNOW the MG EV will have poorer residuals than the Kia and Hyundai? Also a Leaf is in no way comparable to the MG if you need more space for kids or Dogs.. and the extra for a Kia and Hyundai is around £10k.. SAIC also produce VW and if you look at the MG you will see some direct lift off of parts... If it was labelled as a VW for the same price I bet you would have been more enthusiastic!
Thank you for your comments. Over the past few years residual values for the MG range have not been on a par with European built rivals, and many major automotive publications are predicting that they aren’t likely to be particularly high for the ZS EV model... Time will tell. SAIC Volkswagen is a join venture between VW and SAIC and it only produces passenger cars for the Shanghai market. Outside of Shanghai VW is part of the Volkswagen Group, who also own many well-known brands as I'm sure you are aware. Some of the issues that we experienced may have been down to the fact it is a pre-production car, that aside, and the fact that it has now been awarded a Five Star Euro NCAP rating, the MG ZS EV is undeniably a great value car.
