San Diego is now a paragon for extreme wealth meets extreme poverty. None of the housing solutions pitched have helped from ADUs to infill density and removal of parking requirements for new apartments.
That only works for someone who has a guaranteed monthly check and does not have to work. Anywhere that has 'affordable' housing has the low wages to match it. The result is retirees moving to cheaper areas and treating the working population as their servants.

That's a great price in California if you own the mobile home. A 1 bedroom apartment would be that or more. I'm looking at the site now, hot tub, large pool, such nice grounds and the residents here say it's a great play to live. I'm almost 70, we've had our whole lives to save up for retirement. I keep hearing 'fixed income' but who fixed it? I'm not rich but comfortable. Honestly, I'd consider moving there but I do own my own house. We had decades to buy an affordable house that was easy to qualify for. So many seniors never bothered to prepare for a more comfortable retirement.
Isaiah 10:1-4 NKJV - “Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, Which they have prescribed To rob the needy of justice, And to take what is right from the poor of My people, That widows may be their prey, And that they may rob the fatherless. What will you do in the day of punishment, And in the desolation which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your glory? Without Me they shall bow down among the prisoners, And they shall fall among the slain.” For all this His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still.
America hates senior citizens. Between this and assisted living, your chances of dying are high. This makes me think of what Dan Patrick, Texas’ Republican lieutenant governor suggested: he and other grandparents would be willing to risk their health and even lives in order for the United States to “get back to work”. Why is this happening?
There are plenty of disadvantages to not owning the land under your shelter. This here is the biggest. And the rent increase cap is aggregate, meaning if it can be raised 10 percent per year, but they don't raise it for 4 years...a 40% increase is out there lurking.
There's no surprise to this story. Everybody's talking about the $20/hr fast food people are getting and how great or bad it is but nobody mentions the people on fixed income that get priced out right out of California. I don't blame the land owners, I blame the people who had to do with the huge price increases of labor that jack of the price of everything else including rent.
Well, if they are saying is wrong, we need to believe them....Sometimes I feel like the news like ABC lives under a rock and always come late to the party lol
I’m sure Native Americans were sad too when they were forced off of their land when Europeans invaded in 1492. The Trail of Tears is one of many examples of this.

Oh no.... that's really dangerous you're now waving what they call castle rights. 🏰 I've been there before but I had to move back with my parents it was so dangerous outside in the city I was getting followed everywhere it's really scary.
Welcome to the land of greed
She says they are still young enough, well, of course they are, they are not seniors and should not be there anyway. I live in a senior community and when grandpa dies the grandchildren take over and most are told they can't stay.
San Diego is now a paragon for extreme wealth meets extreme poverty. None of the housing solutions pitched have helped from ADUs to infill density and removal of parking requirements for new apartments.
For the lot rent you could have a very nice house where I live with a big garage and a good sized yard front and back.
What does that tell you about where you live at people would rather live in a mobile park in San Diego?
That only works for someone who has a guaranteed monthly check and does not have to work. Anywhere that has 'affordable' housing has the low wages to match it. The result is retirees moving to cheaper areas and treating the working population as their servants.
@@DistrustHumanzRetirees worked all their life to get there. If you are still young enough to work then be happy you have a job. I doubt you are treated as a servant. Your name says it all.
@@eriks8382 I guess you skipped the part where the people are leaving the mobile park in San Diego and looking to move somewhere else?
Yeah. I thought so.
I will never wear comfortable shoes again per Greig Wilcoxen
That's a great price in California if you own the mobile home. A 1 bedroom apartment would be that or more. I'm looking at the site now, hot tub, large pool, such nice grounds and the residents here say it's a great play to live. I'm almost 70, we've had our whole lives to save up for retirement. I keep hearing 'fixed income' but who fixed it? I'm not rich but comfortable. Honestly, I'd consider moving there but I do own my own house. We had decades to buy an affordable house that was easy to qualify for. So many seniors never bothered to prepare for a more comfortable retirement.
Tell govt to not increase property taxes and insurance companies to stop increasing property insurance…..
In California the maximum property taxes can increase per year is 2%.
Property insurance is a different story.
Nobody follws the law in California lol
Everything is illegal here but crime. Even the people are illegal!
@@noblelies It is never too late to get your GED so you can learn the definition of words like "illegal".
Isaiah 10:1-4 NKJV - “Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees,
Who write misfortune,
Which they have prescribed To rob the needy of justice,
And to take what is right from the poor of My people,
That widows may be their prey,
And that they may rob the fatherless. What will you do in the day of punishment,
And in the desolation which will come from afar?
To whom will you flee for help?
And where will you leave your glory? Without Me they shall bow down among the prisoners,
And they shall fall among the slain.”
For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still.
Who's Fucking wages go up 5 fucking % ever after retirement? Sickening!!!!
And where will they go. Homeless.
there will be a reckoning in the future, causing misery will revisit them.
And the rent increase cap is aggregate, meaning if it can be raised 10 percent per year, but they don't raise it for 4 years...a 40% increase is out there lurking.
my property taxes went up $1105.37. boy bye
@@autobotdiva9268 Oh, but the government is exempt from he rules they make for us.
@@Cucumberflavoredmustard apparently gavin newsome also. Thata nancy pelosi relative 👍
Which also means your equity increased.
our country is going downhill fast for citizens .
No one cares about the citizens,😮 greed.
AND I THNK TO MYSELF WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD🌏🙏
Stealing
There's no surprise to this story. Everybody's talking about the $20/hr fast food people are getting and how great or bad it is but nobody mentions the people on fixed income that get priced out right out of California. I don't blame the land owners, I blame the people who had to do with the huge price increases of labor that jack of the price of everything else including rent.
Well, if they are saying is wrong, we need to believe them....Sometimes I feel like the news like ABC lives under a rock and always come late to the party lol
That picture of Spencer burned a hole through my soul
Greedy landlords!
I'm a senior and I knew years ago to buy some land, never rent land.
Praying ❤for all of you
What is the solution?
Don't buy a mobile home that doesn't own the land underneath it.
Vote the Village Idiot out of office. Tan,Rested and Ready and the King
It's in the constitution, part two of the amendments section.
"we reached out to the property" huh?
There doing this in our park $50 increases year after year. Then they demolish the old trailers then put in brand new ones. 😡😡😡😡 Starting at $50,000 !
It is sad that greed has causes ripple problems that will never be righted...
$1600 is an awesome deal here in south Florida.
Time for new laws to be made to protect people’s right to affordable places to live.
I would never live in a place like that
who owns and raised the costs?
Very sad what is going on in the world with housing 😢
Where can I find the best school for becoming a spectacular . I think we should be ready when the current lot retires
Sad
Wait a minute. How could the average increase be 5.5% per year and the woman's rent went from $950 to $1600?
Yet another example of our seniors being abused.🤦
Evil greed is what it is.
Corporate greed thank your politicians
Nice neighborhood.
Rent control
Yes. Nationwide!
Some rent in reno nevada $1200 a month. Lot rent senior park community 😢
Many Californian people moving out of state weather good money not New York not good either .
I’m sure Native Americans were sad too when they were forced off of their land when Europeans invaded in 1492. The Trail of Tears is one of many examples of this.
maybe they'll honor their agreements from now on.
So wrong! What happened to low income housing.
Class action lawsuit will help. we did it in vista!
There’s a way they stop them in Washington state.
Sad😢😢
Unfortunately not everyone can afford to live in California. There are many cheaper places they can move to.
Prices are going through the roof nationwide. Even rent in small, rural little country towns are out of reach for most seniors. I know, because I've been looking myself for some small town to move to and do not see many that I find much cheaper anywhere. There may be a few places still within reach, but I would not say many of them.
America
No one cares if it dont effect them. Ppl suck
How many times do you have to be told to get the heck outta CA. I mean if you are still living there after all the s-t that CA has pulled over the last 20 years then you kinda deserve whatever happens.
It's happening all over the nation! what country are you from?
This is happening nation wide, not just California!
