@2:20 Also when checking the terminals, make sure they are clean with no corrosives. At times that will effect if the car will start or not.
You do NOT check alternator output at the battery posts. You check at the alternator terminals and chassis ground. 14.25-14.5V. The test you did at 4:00 was testing battery voltage. The low voltage could be caused buy corroded cables. Batteries do NOT read 12V fully charged - fully charged is 12.66V. Also - you NEVER use a load tester on the battery cable terminals. You check with the cables removed. There s a fill indicator on battery cells - fully serviced is almost 1/4'-1/2" ABOVE the plates. Do you have my book?
Nice explanation bravo 👏
Another informative and easy to understand video! Thanks!
Great video. Thank you.
Totally unrelated, only 1 other video on this subject. When idling if I turn the steering wheel all the way either side my SUV will stall out, another video maybe? Great content man keep it up🦾
The best video
Thank you for such an easy to follow explanation of these concepts. Is there any way to test the alternator when the car will not start at all?
Unfortunately no. An alternator shop can test it if you remove and bring it in.
@@BudgetMechanicHawaii Good to know. Thank you!
Awesome video, but how could we contact with you?
Hi, paid cooperation, pls reply, thank you
you dont need all these tools start the car take off the positive cable if car dies you need alternator old school
Yup works great on old school cars! Some newer models with fancier computers will shut the car down if battery is disconnected, even if the alternator is functioning
ok try and do that with a 20 23 and 2024 veh today this will cause issues so dont do it that trick worked well years ago when I started working on cars like in 1982
