I think one thing that we often forget when it comes to finding a scapegoat for nepotism are the consumer habits we as an audience possess. It is guaranteed that a film starring star kids is bound to do well in theaters as compared to an unknown person. It’s the sad reality of todays day and age, it’s quite rare that a movie’s success in Bollywood is solely to do with story line and performance of the actors. it’s disheartening, but true nonetheless.

So it's not about talent alone.. as if you are given so many chances and you are confident that you can still get roles then it's possible that you will learn after doing a couple of movies ... But think of any outsider like sushant or rajkumar rao or ayushman they are all brilliant actors because it's their passion and they have worked really hard for it.. so they can never think of learning at a later stage but star kids mostly learn or improve their acting after their couple of movies.

honestly i dont mind the star kids getting movies because lets be honest no matter famous or not every parent tries to help their child get a job. This happens in almost every house. The parents work so hard to give a better life to their children and if they have a chance to launch their children in bollywood, they would obviously do it. Thats why i will stay neutral right now and see their acting. Not gonna lie, i am actually excited to see suhana khan in a movie because i saw her acting in the short film and according to me, she was actually really good. The amount of money you get is directly proportional to the number of asses you can get on to a theatre. It's that simple. Why should Akshay be paid the same amount as Kareena when Akshay can bring in SIGNIFICANTLY more people to the theatres? Alia was paid more than Vicky for Raazi. Deepika was paid more than Ranveer and Shahid (apparently) for Padmavat. Jennifer Lawrence was paid more than Chris Pratt for Passengers. I support equal pay, but if you're not bringing equal amount of money to the table as the other person, you can't expect equal pie of the pie.

My Assumption: I think star kids are casted because the production house can also take some financial help from the star kids parents. Or maybe if in case the film does not work, the star kids parents will adjust with little lesser amount just because they want their children to be noticed first. Where as big production houses will not introduce all newcomers, just to safeguard their bank balance. The movie which I remember which had no star kids was Band Baaja Baaraat by Yash Raj Films. Maybe Yashraj has more risk bearing money.

Tbh suhana has done many small projects and short films to prep towards a whole feature movie and has always been informed about the industry exactly how it is, and how she won’t be getting things easy just because she is her dads daughter by Srk himself.. it’s why she’s done her best to work on the actual acting part of things and taking it seriously from the start.. however I’m really unsure when it comes to Agustya and khushi.. I’ve always thought with khushi’s looks and height, she always gave me model energy.. like I genuinely always saw her as being this successful Indian big time supermodel for whatever reason. She looks like if she tried with her facial capabilities she could achieve that intensity and powerful vibe in her eyes (and perhaps also in her walk?) with luckily being blessed with sharp defined features to go with it too.. she was always model potential to me. Her sister gives off more feminine and doll, movie star vibes. Even though they are both feminine looking, idk jhanvi just hits differently to khushi. Both really pretty tho.

Well, I absolutely don't think nepotism is a bad thing as long as the actors being casted put in a certain amount of effort in the movie, and as for the directors and producers, they can cast whoever they want, they don't owe just anyone a role in their movie, and the public can't make them change their casting list, they have the right to cast whoever tf they want, simple as that.

Aamir Khan answered the pay inequality in Bollywood pretty well. The question is not about pay being directly proportional to the length of the work an actor does irrespective of the gender, it is the question about actor (male/female) being able to pull the audience to the cinema halls. If an actress is able to fill the halls, then hands down she deserves to get paid more. Gender bias in payment is a massive concern and I agree it has to be dealt with utmost importance but when you see other professions like IT for instance, women are being paid handsomely just because of their skill which is incredible to see and things are changing slowly but steadily. You see the Indian daily soaps, all the leading ladies are earning more than their male counterparts and they completely deserve it. Rest aside, I love your content, keep bringing more of them!

Actresses are generally paid less due to the image and less solo movie. In bollywood solo female movie are way less which gives a image that the value of female actresses are less. Even in normal day convo we generally associate movies with actor U could also see in a movie some times female characters is just added for eye candy purpose. The story generally revolve around the actor. Making them much more important than female lead.
Also I want to adress One more thing this might be different to the topic you have discussed but Sometimes I feel like if a film with a good concept releasing and get appreciation from both critics and audiences doesn't matter who's acting their get recognisation as good actor and get many awards from award function but if you put your best acting skills to a normal film that might be a successful/hit film and praised by audience but concept is nothing new then your acting skills doesn't get that much of attention. In Most of the cases actors get awards because of the films . My comment is if that film was being offered by another person they might have done a good work as well or far better then the actor/actress . So it most of the cases depends on your choice of films rather then your talent or acting skills. If starkids being casted in a films with good concept then tallented actors won't get that much attention they deserve

Nah I totally disagree, actors should be casted on the basis of their talent and not how hard their parents worked in the industry. Indian cinema has no parallel for Pixar or Disney where people let imagination take flight. What she is attempting only now had failed several times on TV. People think that only children watch cartoons. To move away from the media buzz around the promotion, Zoya has challenged these three kids. If the movie fails then it would not be on account of the story or direction but despite Suhana, Khushi and Agastya who were accompanied by their families raving about them. This is fair because nepotism has to be called out. It is also political in as much as their stakes being tied to yet unseen performances. No one outside Gujarat experienced Narendra Modi before 2014. After eight years, everyone has accepted him as a religious leader. That maybe the fate of these three also. Industry cannot avoid Zoya after movie fails to make any mark at the box office. She is not the star. Karan Johar also launched Siddharth Malhotra. But he has been written off despite his friendship with Shahrukh Khan who had no Godfather in Hindi cinema.

I think one thing that we often forget when it comes to finding a scapegoat for nepotism are the consumer habits we as an audience possess. It is guaranteed that a film starring star kids is bound to do well in theaters as compared to an unknown person. It’s the sad reality of todays day and age, it’s quite rare that a movie’s success in Bollywood is solely to do with story line and performance of the actors. it’s disheartening, but true nonetheless.
we should not think that this actor is product of nepotism or not we should check that the actor is talented or not
I think whether you are talented or not but as a star kid you will get several chances where you can learn and grow..just look at alia.. during her initial days she wasn't that good and she has learned a lot as she got movies one after another.. jhanvi kapoor is totally expressionless still she gets good movies.. similarly just check how shrdhha perfomed in ashuqui 2 and check her later movies like Haider etc.. and I dont even need to say about sara and ananya. It's not the case with any outsider.. if you are an outsider you will have to give really tough auditions and not only that if people Don't want to see you again directors wll stop casting you.. so every movie is like do or die for you.. but thats not the case with any star kid.. look at arjun kapoor no one wants to see him and his acting is also very bad still he somehow gets role in a multistar movie..
So it's not about talent alone.. as if you are given so many chances and you are confident that you can still get roles then it's possible that you will learn after doing a couple of movies ... But think of any outsider like sushant or rajkumar rao or ayushman they are all brilliant actors because it's their passion and they have worked really hard for it.. so they can never think of learning at a later stage but star kids mostly learn or improve their acting after their couple of movies.
I think promotion also depends on tht we knw whn a star kid movie is voming bt dont know even movies with good stabilised actor if we didnt knw when the movie is coming

The amount of money you get is directly proportional to the number of asses you can get on to a theatre. It's that simple. Why should Akshay be paid the same amount as Kareena when Akshay can bring in SIGNIFICANTLY more people to the theatres? Alia was paid more than Vicky for Raazi. Deepika was paid more than Ranveer and Shahid (apparently) for Padmavat. Jennifer Lawrence was paid more than Chris Pratt for Passengers.
I support equal pay, but if you're not bringing equal amount of money to the table as the other person, you can't expect equal pie of the pie.

I think star kids are casted because the production house can also take some financial help from the star kids parents.
Or maybe if in case the film does not work, the star kids parents will adjust with little lesser amount just because they want their children to be noticed first.
Where as big production houses will not introduce all newcomers, just to safeguard their bank balance.
The movie which I remember which had no star kids was Band Baaja Baaraat by Yash Raj Films.
Maybe Yashraj has more risk bearing money.

Tbh suhana has done many small projects and short films to prep towards a whole feature movie and has always been informed about the industry exactly how it is, and how she won’t be getting things easy just because she is her dads daughter by Srk himself.. it’s why she’s done her best to work on the actual acting part of things and taking it seriously from the start.. however I’m really unsure when it comes to Agustya and khushi.. I’ve always thought with khushi’s looks and height, she always gave me model energy.. like I genuinely always saw her as being this successful Indian big time supermodel for whatever reason. She looks like if she tried with her facial capabilities she could achieve that intensity and powerful vibe in her eyes (and perhaps also in her walk?) with luckily being blessed with sharp defined features to go with it too.. she was always model potential to me. Her sister gives off more feminine and doll, movie star vibes. Even though they are both feminine looking, idk jhanvi just hits differently to khushi. Both really pretty tho.

Well, I absolutely don't think nepotism is a bad thing as long as the actors being casted put in a certain amount of effort in the movie, and as for the directors and producers, they can cast whoever they want, they don't owe just anyone a role in their movie, and the public can't make them change their casting list, they have the right to cast whoever tf they want, simple as that.

Aamir Khan answered the pay inequality in Bollywood pretty well. The question is not about pay being directly proportional to the length of the work an actor does irrespective of the gender, it is the question about actor (male/female) being able to pull the audience to the cinema halls. If an actress is able to fill the halls, then hands down she deserves to get paid more.
Gender bias in payment is a massive concern and I agree it has to be dealt with utmost importance but when you see other professions like IT for instance, women are being paid handsomely just because of their skill which is incredible to see and things are changing slowly but steadily. You see the Indian daily soaps, all the leading ladies are earning more than their male counterparts and they completely deserve it.

In Most of the cases actors get awards because of the films . My comment is if that film was being offered by another person they might have done a good work as well or far better then the actor/actress . So it most of the cases depends on your choice of films rather then your talent or acting skills. If starkids being casted in a films with good concept then tallented actors won't get that much attention they deserve
