@@Dailybaatwitheli You are correct these designers need to attract traffic to their shows , these people can say that’s a place for a supermodel all they want but I’m sure they don’t follow one Indian ramp model. This happens all the time not only in India . For recent example Balenciaga had Kim kardashian, dua lipa and a famous actress at their show as models. Celine recently had Lisa (a singer) as their model for a show. And its not just the show stopper that plays a huge role in a fashion show , if anyone closely follows it they know opening/closing for a designer is equally important if not more. Also the model who accompanies the designer during his appreciation stroll at last is equally important.

usually, show-stoppers clothes are the most expensive ones so if someone whos famous the more the clothing sells. It's simple marketing. By using A-list celebrities like Deepika the brand gets a huge advantage. The clothes these actors wear sell quickly.

Because modelling Industry developed there, it did not originated in India so, the Industry is not developed as it is in USA. But I hate this industry, worst thing in the world. Ye modelling hai kya? They treat female bodies as hangers for clothes and nothing else. Why should we copy the same thing in India and promote it? They don't promote body positivity in any sense, cause women so much distress and mental issues. It's a disgusting job that objectifies women.

@@sarasharma4274 The last line got me to reply. Its objective isn't to objectify women at all. If you have seen international fashion shows the faces of the models doesn't even stay in our mind it's the clothes that prevail. Model itself means a prototype and you don't prototype human, you prototype the objects. And yeah now plus size models are working so do models of skin of colour and also models with different skin problems.
The beauty standard you talked about with modelling is the old conventional type which now 3rd world country follows because they are still to develop in this industry. It's important to understand one thing it's not worst because there are Indian models too in international platform and they are comfortable working there but they won't join the industry here since it's in primitive level.
If you want to let the models breathe wish for the industry to grow because this will prevail till the time brands prevail and we want Brands coming out from India if you wish India to join International league of countries. This industry will stay here forever even if it continues in a bad shape and degrading the lives and work ethics of models.
Better wish India to develop this zone coz it's indeed a Big Industry all over the globe.

Society defines female beauty standard as being slim or skinny majorly (the media) as it is seen as a sign of fitness. And for males it is being muscular and having abs (not bulky tho) as it is a sign of fitness as well.
Now the same society looks down upon women who have abs and are muscular. Now it is changing and women are going for abs and all as well because it can be developed with workouts and good diets yet in mass media female with toned muscles are not that "desirable".
    Double standard.
Due to this standard most female models go for extreme diets to become skinny and not much of a workout.
If we change this standard then women models would go for a balanced proper diet and workout which is beneficial in many aspects. Maybe not the best but for sure better alternative.

Let me correct u here society doesn't define it as beauty standard... Because people also skinnyshame girls... I'm also naturally skinny but that doesn't mean I'm unhealthy.. I'm skinny due to fast metabolism ek din to logo k skinnyshame s tang ake maine doctors s puch hi liya ki meko aisee konsi diet follow krni cahiye ki m healthy ho jau to doctor bole ki aap to already healthy ho jarurat kya h😂.. To mtlab y h ki apke main inner organs healthy hone cahiye vo mere healthy h or logo k pass literally yhi topic rehta h ki m itni ptli kyu hu😂😂😂😂 ab unhe kon fast metabolism ka concept samjhane m time waste kre vaise bhi ni samjhege... To aisaa na h behen skinny logo ko bhi bahut kuch already bura bol re h log ab tum bhi educated person hoke aisaa criticise krne lgg jaoge to fir kaheki eq... Or pta h kya m bahut khati hu😂😂phir bhi ab body aisee h to aisee hi h logo ko accept krna seekho tbhi vo khud ko accept krr payege vrna stress m hi rhege ki hum itne bure kyu dikhte h bhagwaan n hme itna bura kyu bnaya... Jbki iska opposite y sab waste thoughts h bhagwaan n body karam krne k liye di h naki dusro ki burayi krke bakchodi krne k liye😂😂
Or ha change this standard na bolo... Blki y external beauty standard hi khatam krr do kyunki koi bhi beauty standard toxic hi hota h... Sabko talent or skills k basis p naukri milni cahiye or even talent, skill and personality hi dekhne cahiye insan ki or ha agr koi beauty standard hona bhi cahiye to vo inner beauty standard hona cahiye personality and achhe karmo ka naki outer appearance wala beauty standard....
Jo dusro k liye achhe kam kre meri najar m to whi beautiful h

If you are presented a choice to people with two options one a skinny person and second someone who is obsese.
And they have to choose from one in between of them they would choose skinny person over obese.
A study suggests that more than 80 percent of the girls below the age of 10 have tried dieting to reduce weight. And you still say it is not a beauty standard?
Yeah skinnyshaming is real and skinny people are called names but the statement that being skinny is not a beauty standard is ignorant.
People call fair people names as well still skin bleaching and preferences for lighter skin is prevalent.

On top of it they also have crazy haters and sasaengs and absolutely no privacy. Only a few lucky groups like BTS make it big enough that they own shares in the agency. Most of the time idols get eating disorders or have mental health issues. Some agencies even check the phone of their idols. The saying 'All that glitters is not gold' fits right.

@Mayuresh Jarag🏳️‍🌈 Those are just some perks of being a model. Not the actual job. Actual job is just to look pretty and wear someone's products. You say they are brand ambassadors but in India only actors and actresses are brand ambassadors of any product. And whats the benefit of having millions of followers? If they gain even 1kg of weight or something bad happens, these 'millions of followers' are the frst ones to troll them.

Sara did look mad akward. this is a intresting topic tho models do work hard but at the same time if a famous celeb is used as a model then sometimes it brings in more hype

Exactly . And nepotism exists in the modeling industry in hollywood as well . Gigi bella and kendall come from influencial families.bwhile gigi and bella are talented, kendall isn't. Her walk is awful yet she's the highest paid model just because she's a jenner. She's always very picky about her work which normal models can't afford to do. I love how bee thinks everything is roses and sunshine in hollywood but it ain't. In fact bella just came out saying she had a nose surgery when she was 14 and she regrets it deeply. And all this she did just to fit into the beauty standards there. Not to mention victoria's secret is know for starving their models and being very cut throat on them. Also recently balenciaga did a show with all the hollywood celebs walking the ramp and it was awful except for Naomi's walk. The modelling industry sucks period

This modeling industry in India is so messed up and now in this industry nepotism will take place the other countries appreciate their model respect them and their parents also support them but in india parents know all these stuff that's why they force their girls to do govt. Jobs or get married they didn't ask What their child wanted to do that's one of the reasons why this children get depressed and get pressurize these hurts their mental health and don't want to survive in this world but hope just like Bollywood this modeling industry doesn't mess up hope they understand the pain of outsiders and the talented models...🙏🌹

Dear Spill bee, yes you are right that all that glitters is not gold but please please please don’t generalise the modelling industry basis some movie or someone’s interview. A lot of girls are already struggling with the orthodox mindset of society and families . Such generalised videos can make the life even more difficult for them. Please don’t be a industry expert or doctor or a modelling coordinator or a agony aunt here. Don’t assume things unless you have some data or real successful models supporting your videos. But I agree that Bollywood actresses are eating up real models’ credit.
