    A few things. First, this was a rough flight. With the winter weather conditions, it made it extremely difficult to film. So, the filming quality of this flight isn't quite up to par as far as I'm concerned. I didn't want to waste the footage though. There isn't much I can do when the window is covered with de-icing fluid. This is winter flying for you. Also, this was filmed several months ago. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic I am not traveling, and I strongly discourage anyone from taking any non-essential flights. That being said, this channel is very important to me, so I stockpile extra footage from every trip to make sure I have enough footage to continue uploading even if I am unable to fly for any reason. So, you will continue to see daily content on my channel during this unprecedented time. I currently have enough footage to continue with daily uploads through September 2020 without stepping on another aircraft. Fly with me here on this channel, not on real flights! At least for now. Stay safe everyone!

    The 2 flights I've had with the CRJ-200 have been over 2 hours long, and were certainly the most cramped and uncomfortable flights that I've had to date. That being said, I still find the sounds that it makes to be relaxing.

    • @thecaynuck4694
      @thecaynuck4694 4 года назад +3

      That's weird, the plane's not intended for 2 hour long flights, more 1 hour max. I don't mind comfort on short hops. I blame it partly on the airline for the cramped config as well. It does sound good, but it's also reliable and very safe. Necessary for regional travel. It would make a great business jet, which it was developed from, but it's crazy how many people's opinions change of a plane due to comfort.

    I've flown in and out of Denver about a dozen times and nearly every time it's a rough ride. I believe it's due to the mountain waves. And of course the winter flights, like this one, make conditions worse. Sure is beautiful over Colorado though.
    I enjoyed this and just want to again say thank you for these great videos.

    interesting how the spoilers came up then shortly went down and went back up again. Wonder if there was an issue they way they were armed or the pilot prematurely disengaged them and then realized that he needed to bring them back up?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  Год назад

      Yeah, I'm not really sure. There were several other people discussing this in the comments when I released this video. Besides a mechanical issue or the pilots accidentally disengaging them early, we don't really have any other plausible explanations. And unless one of the pilots ever happens to see this, it'll likely stay a mystery haha. Thanks for watching my friend!

    Winter flying is a whole different animal, Man they soaked the wing in de-icer. One thing I cannot understand, and that is the need to distribute snacks and to pour soda into plastic cup. Just give me a can to drink out of. Last time I flew it was KPHX-KCLE nonstop on a Frontier, I did not wish to mess around with a credit cart nor pay $4.00 for a soda, So I flew the trip without. After I dep the A/C and got my Rental car, there was a Wendys very close. Stay safe and healthy.

    A mere 2 months ago this was filmed and yet how things have changed--airlines were making money,no sense of what was to come,almost like being in a time warp! Here in Texas,the temperature has been in the high 80's, it was disconcerting, upon opening this video, for me to see snow flurries! I always wonder how a/c taxi about without fear of hitting an ice patch and sliding about! Being that you live in snow country,how does an airport bill the airlines for deicing fluid? Do airlines pay a flat fee for the season or are they billed per aircraft? Places like DEN,ORD, STL,must go through thousands of gallons of propylene glycol and it stinks! Was flying CWA-ORD on AE,a ERJ,the ventilation system pumped in the odor of the fluid and it reeked! One would think the engines would be shut down to avoid sucking in the glycol. I would hope,with repeated applications of the glycol over time, it wouldn't damage the paint or discolor it--upon takeoff,it didn't take long to reach blue sky! Very odd landing--upon touchdown,the spoilers went up,then down. Only after reverse thrust was disengaged did the spoilers go back up again!

    • @sla31
      @sla31  8 месяцев назад

      That's definitely true, but I can tell you why it is this way... So, Tulsa is one of my home airports and I've had the opportunity to discuss this exact thing with the TUL management team a couple of times. It basically boils down to this... United has to send their 50 seat jets somewhere, and even though TUL can easily support even 737-900's, it is right in the middle of multiple United hubs. 541 miles to Denver, 585 miles to Chicago, and 429 miles to Houston. Tulsa suffers from it's geographic location here, where it may be able to support larger planes, but it makes more sense for Untied to send them elsewhere, leaving Tulsa left with a lot of 50 seat regional jets on United.
