I have a question.. for each block of step1 exam out of 7 blocks, is it specific to a particular topic/discipline OR questions in each block is mixed covering all topic questions in each block.

Is there any time limit to schedule test date after getting scheduling permit ?

You can schedule it any time, before or even during the triad. It is preferred to do it beforehand because prometric centers can become busy
