THANK YOU!! You and your wife inspire me!! I look forward to seeing your next video every day!! Y’all have been a blessing to me for my farm endeavor. I am in the process of getting a grant to advance my farm and get moving forward!! I can’t thank you enough for the inspiration and motivation!! Love Y’all!!
Thanks for the tip on the fencing I've been wanting to hook up one area to an outer fence line but I didn't want it electrified. I just love seeing the scenery on your farm it is so pretty.
Definitely understandable to cut back on things that are too much trouble. It might be worth keeping a couple feeder pigs just to keep your fridge stocked on the cheap. Or just raise more beef and buy the pork from another local farmer lol. I was hoping to keep cattle, pigs, and chickens if I can eventually get some land, and graze them on a rotational basis, with pigs and chickens following a day behind the cows to spread the manure and keep the flies down.
I have to lived here in Vancouver Island you can probably walk two blocks and pick the kelp up off the beach in it free You should start eating the kelp too kelp is very good for you
My guess the input cost in pig got to be high with grain started to inch up would say that wise choice to cut back but the look in you face you folks saw this coming anyway another good video enjoy the content👍
Kelp also provides selenium, calcium and other minerals that may not be in a grazing mineral. They seem to prefer it over the mineral wet put out. It goes faster.
I'm going to guess that you are goin to spin off the other enterprises (pigs & broilers & eggers) to people you've been working with and trust who live near you...just a hunch...because it seems to me that you both are so personable and seem to genuinely love teaching folks these things. Blessings Abound
Hey another way of making money on your farm I don't know if they grow there or not but soon as you got cows and cow poop what about magic mushrooms used to pick those as a teenager in the farmers field until they came out with a shotgun shooting telling you to get out mostly because all the people from out of town would break the fences by climbing over them instead of doing it properly nothing worse than people that got a wreck stuff for other people but imagine magic mushrooms self are pretty good mindy I didn't take them for that long because I didn't care for getting stoned I tried a lot of different kind of drugs but never did end up liking any of it always over did it the first time and never went back to it good way of curing people to just overdo it
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
Don't get it,with the pork, supermarkets selling bacon, sausage, bratwurst, pork wieners like crazy & prices are high. Rest of pork low price. But shreded pork barbecue is a smash hit to eat. 😅 maybe healthier eating, more veggies fruit trend . I think pork is a fall winter food. The bottom line it's trickling down to the farmers. No more piggies to watch?😢
Decisions Does it agree with scripture. Is it the right thing to do considering a godly conscience. Should I or should I not let the Lord open or close the door Don’t push the door. Is this reasonable in spiritual judgment Wait don’t do it if you’re not sure wait on the Lord. Wait in faith with expectation. Silence fleshly desires and lust. This is God’s will for you at the present. If you know God’s will you must do it.
Yes you can’t get a bailer for that but once you make that purchase you don’t have to again and you don’t pay for hay every year. Having equipment saves more money in the long run and buying hay every year makes it more expensive and you have to continue budgeting for it every year. As opposed to just putting in a few extra hours to cut rake and bale your own hay.
It's not the 🐮COW! It's the HOW! Management of livestock makes all the difference. Love what you guys do.
You are exactly right! Thanks for watching.
God bless you and the Mrs. always enjoy your videos and look forward to your new adventures
God bless y’all big, big!!

God bless ya'll
Yes, factory produced mineral blocks and sea forage.... classic part of cattles diet for millenia no doubt...
Love the videos from you two. I learn so much and enjoy the real farm life.

Glad to see it working out. It’ll be nice when you get some grass in those woods for some silvo pasture.
Thx

Adding the mineral to the cattle now would help the content of the grass down the road you would think.
I liked this video! Sondra in canning?
Percentage wise how much better is your grass now than when you moved on the place.
I’d say 25%. But I think rotating and not leaving the animals in a spot for too long keeps the growth stimulates too. Great question.
Any thoughts on sheep or goats?
Is it cooking by Sandra ?
Most farm channels I watch seems to be doing the same thing, cutting down on pig production.
Interesting. I saw Pete at Just a Few Acres was. Have you seen anyone else?

I'm still waiting on the bees ❤
I've always wondered what it is cattle get from kelp and where could they get it other than from kelp? Cattle are obviously not aquatic animals.

Thank you. Inspirational words.
Unfortunately pig isn't a big money maker for small farms but beef, chicken is obviously because beef is a majority grass feed low cost.,take care both
