i already got goosebumps just by watching this, thank you very much for sharing! looking forward to the day i can finally visit kamei arena sendai in person :))
Hi! That's a great question, and a little hard to answer haha which is why I'm making a video series about how I learned Japanese in December/January (^^) but to give you a short answer, I've been self-teaching myself for about 4 years now. And don't worry I still watch anime with subtitles too sometimes 😅
yeahhh !!!! I'm so happy that you made this video! thank you for showing how the experience is, i really would like to go there one day !! ly and your videos! 💞
Thank you so much for watching! I wanted to post it sooner but (as always) editing took forever haha. I hope you can go someday and I recommend getting a meat bun from the 7-11 next to the arena during the winter if you can (^ω^)
I'm going to Japan for a month as a gift to myself for my 25th birthday this upcoming February, and plan on spending a few days in Sendai!! Truthfully, this trip was very spur of the moment because the Haikyuu movie debuts in Japan the week of my birthday, and Sakusa Kiyoomi's birthday is exactly a month after mine so I figured I may as well make it a whole "tour de Haikyuu" 😂 Needless to say, I definitely plan on visiting Kanmei Arena! If I may ask, do you think the instructions for areas we're allowed to see are easy to follow if your Japanese isn't the best? I took it in college, but have forgotten a fair bit and am worried about the language barrier (especially my horrendous kanji reading) 😅 I really enjoyed your video and can't wait to see it too!! Thank you for sharing ❤️
Updating to say: Just rewatched your video as a way to psych myself up.. because I’m in Sendai!! Cannot wait to see the arena in person in the morning, especially with the new movie finally out. :)

Hi! Currently there are no English translations available on site unfortunately. But you're still free to enter and look around. Personally I don't think you need any translations in order to enjoy the atmosphere (^^)
In my opinion this is not a tourist location, because it's an actual recreation center that the people of that town use every day. (If you saw the little league baseball game going on in this video, you'd kind of get what I mean.) The staff do not speak English either (or yet, who knows they may someday). If you're a huge Haikyu!! fan like me, I think this place is a must to visit! But I always advocate this to foreigners about traveling in Japan: not everything or place is set up for tourists, and as visitors we should respect that. If anyone is interested in visiting this location, I recommend knowing very basic polite Japanese phrases to ask if you can enter/ask the staff where you can and cannot go within the recreation center. In this video's pinned comment, I replied in more detail to someone who had a similar question about not being able to speak Japanese but still wanting to go. If you're interested in that I recommend checking out the pinned comment thread (^^) hope this helps.
everything is real exept the characters are missing 😔
