I have a jeep overland 2011 it says on the dash air suspension need fix what you think it May be the problem and i took it to a mecanic he put his scan machine and he says there is a vent problem
Seems that you can get away with using air instead of nitrogen to fill the system, but the issue is moisture which will freeze if you're in a cold climate.
ZP, You r 1 of the best!! I just found a 2012 which has 39 k miles, for 8k. You think is a good price?.. I like to learn how to swim before I put a foot in the water
Hello, when you put out this conector, u need recharge any type of air or gas? For the suspension system? Sorry for my bad English I looking for install a kit of leveling
Was the raise button flashing before you replaced that did it say immediately suspension service required or were you able to raise it and it just kept lowering?
It still raised and lowered perfect. There was no error lights or anything on. It was just leaking down after it sat for a while but I’m sure it’s because the leak wasn’t real bad. I’m sure if you have a real bad leak it would over work the compressor and probably throw an error of some kind.
Thanks for the info! Do the rear air springs have the same issue as the fronts at all? Can they be repaired in a similar way by replacing the connector?
I know they’re the same connectors and lines so I’m sure it could happen in the rear as well. The fitting is on the side instead of on top so you should be able to see it behind the wheel on the bag.
So its winter and i was lifting my jeeep grand cherokee 2015 suspension by putting it on off road mode and then suddenly i heard a loud pop. And the back of the car was low. The car eventually lowered itself but it cant lift to the normal driving suspension. Will what you did in this video fix my problem? Are there those type of valve devices in the back of the car?
I’m not sure if it will fix your issue but it does have the exact same fittings on the rear bags. They’re right behind the tire on the side of the air bag near the top you can miss it with the wheel off!
When you park the jeep, it’s better let him in park mode suspension or the normal mode? I mean what is better put him low when is park and up when you go use the car or you just let him on normal mode (the first position up park mode)????? Thank you
I always keep it in normal mode. Park is lower than regular and it’s really just to make it easier to get in and out of. I don’t really think putting it in one or the other really makes a difference when it comes to longevity.
@@ZPTVChannel why don’t make difference? In park mode the car use the air to go down and up and if he stays normal? Maybe he don’t do the process? I don’t know it’s my ask I need to read about the air suspension in jeep
Hey ZP TV, i own a 2013 Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7 Hemi. Do you know if they have an issue with computers? While i am driving, sometimes my dash gauges all flatline, all dashboard warning lights go off, and windshield wipers automatically turn on.
Not dumb I had the same question until I just decided to go snooping for it lol but Yes I’m almost positive it’s the same fittings it’s just mounted on the side closer to the top instead of right on top.
Very possible! The reason it pops that message up is because the compressor overheats itself trying to make up for the leak. It’s cheap and easy enough to try it. If it’s still popping up after it’s most likely a compressor issue..
@ Thank you very much, I will try it tomorrow when the part arrives. Do I have to put it in tire jack mode when it is replaced so that no more air leaks?
@ happy to help!! it won’t matter once you take the fitting off most of the air will come out anyways. The compressor will refill the system pretty quick once the leak is fixed!
@ Very well, thank you very much. I will let you know what happens, but thank you for your help and your time. I hope it is ready with that. I just bought it.
Yes, you can replace just one! And it shouldn’t be too much depending on if you do it yourself or take it somewhere. The rears are super easy to do yourself and the fronts aren’t bad just a tiny bit more involved.
There’s 2 o rings one at the bottom and one at the top right below the air fitting. The bottom doesn’t go bad very often but the top one is usually the one that lets go. I’m assuming just over time the o ring get old and crusty and allows air past.
We have a 2012 Overland and we’ve had our system replaced three times under warranty. Thank God we bought the extended warranty which is no longer available, unlimited time unlimited mileage so it cost us $100 each time but I believe this system is about 3500 bucks, so Chrysler is out 10 grand just on this part of the car alone in addition over the last 12 years of ownership Chrysler has probably spent close to $30,000 on this vehicle. We are finally getting so tired of it. We are looking at something else, and it will not be a Chrysler product.
The whole system is a cool idea on paper but I feel like it just causes more of a headache. Plus I’m sure they didn’t use the greatest materials for it either,

My question is, is this a real issue to be worried of? I mean if the compressor works fine and it goes back up to its normal position when you turn it on it means it is working I guess?
It will add unnecessary stress to the compressor and will cause it to fail a lot sooner. Also in the colder months the lines will freeze and you’ll have to wait for them to unfreeze before you can drive because the suspension will be bottomed out.
My copmpass on my 2018 jeep grand cherokee overland is off. When I go south it's saying its going north. Had some suspension issues like yourself and they charged me 500 dollars for a diagnostic and nitro fill truck is up now but it just stays where its at please help.
So if is sagged and I turn on my jeep and it goes back up to its normal level is that normal? or for example on my jeep it’s a 2012 V6 I have not used my jeep for the past three days and today it was all the way down but when I turned on my jeep, it went back to its normal level. so this is this a sign that my suspension is going out? I also hear like a sound like a Pssss kinda noise coming from somewhere under the hood.
Since it goes back up that means your compressor is fine and the leak isn’t that bad but most likely it’s just a leaky air fitting! Replace them and should be good! I would say since the whole jeep is sagging the rear fittings are probably leaking too.
I switch the struts suspension parts both sides under the hood. & it’s still slammed to the ground on the front. And there’s no leaks. What would be my next step please.
I changed mine, had it refilled by the dealer, but after a month it returned to no air. So there must be another leak. Im going to spray the lines with soapy water and see what happens
Cold weather can freeze condensation in the lines causing the air pressure in said lines to drop and/or causing a service air suspension message until the system warms up.
@@ZPTVChannel Thank you sooo much! I hope that’s what it is. I thought driving it for an hour would do something, but maybe I need to get it in a warm garage??
@seuss7145 if it’s in the negatives like you said it’ll probably take a while.. it would get in the high 20s here and it would take about 15-30 mins to warm up and work right.
@wayanbarre no problem! if you take off the rear tire or just get a flashlight and look behind the wheel and look at the air shock the fitting will be near the top on the side you can’t miss it!
the first connector you removed, looks like it had teflon tape on the threads....And would you recommend using some kind of silicone lube on the o-rings for longer life?
From everything I’ve read it says not to use Teflon tape because if and when it degrades it can send bits of Teflon through the system. As far as lube goes it probably wouldn’t hurt to put some kind of lubricant on it to help it seat during the installation but I doubt it would make it last any longer.
my air suspension just went out for the first time. today its 10 degrees. the compressor made a loud noise and it seemed like it was stuck in rising height but it did not rise when i pressed the height adjustment button and only the front is lowered. any suggestions?
When it gets really cold like that and there’s not enough nitrogen in the system the condensation from the outside air the system brings in, to make up for the lost nitrogen, will freeze up the system. If I were you I would wait until it gets back above freezing and see if it’s still giving you fits!
@@Stone2915 mines been popping up service air suspension for 2 days lol it got a little warmer today and after driving it for a while it seems to be back to normal. Probably until it sits overnight and freezes again lol
Myne went down when temperature dropped below -15c . It such a disappointment because I bought a car just 1 week ago(. Who has more expirience with this air suspension, is it worth fixing it? Will it stands -20 or -30°c ?
@@ig_vlog_channel apparently the compressor freezes because it has moisture in it. once the temperature rises above freezing it should fill up. if not gotta change the compressor
They’re near the top of the bag right behind the rear tire! You can get a really good look if you pull the wheel off but you can get to it without taking the wheel off!

You should be able to hear it… I would check fuses and relays first but luckily the compressor isn’t crazy expensive so if it is it shouldn’t be to bad!

The airlines are freezing the moisture that condenses in them; either fill with nitro or spray some anti-freeze in your lines during the winter.

Spray some soap on those fittings and it will bubble if they are leaking. Windex or fantastic works but there is plumbing specific soap for this.

As long as the suspension is aired up you can check it with the Jeep off.

@ Very well, thank you very much. I will let you know what happens, but thank you for your help and your time. I hope it is ready with that. I just bought it.
Good work Mate….Thank you.
One of my air bags is torn and now it’s slammed to the ground. How much will this cost? Can I replace just one bag?
Yes, you can replace just one! And it shouldn’t be too much depending on if you do it yourself or take it somewhere. The rears are super easy to do yourself and the fronts aren’t bad just a tiny bit more involved.
How does that rubber seal below let air out up top at plastic lock
There’s 2 o rings one at the bottom and one at the top right below the air fitting. The bottom doesn’t go bad very often but the top one is usually the one that lets go. I’m assuming just over time the o ring get old and crusty and allows air past.
Will this work on the rams as well?
I’m not 100% sure but I’d say their probably the same being as their made by the same company.
Wish i had tried this when it happened to mine. I ended up replacing the air suspension with an emu kit.
At least you have the peace of mind that it’s all new!
I replaced the elbow 90° the top stopped leaking but now the bottom of black is leaking. Took forever to pump up and won't complete in off-road 2
Would this cause you to hear loud buzzing in your car that sounds like it’s coming from your dash
@@DelaneyBaker01 I would say no. Unless your compressor is what you’re hearing. If it is and it’s that loud your compressor might be going bad..
@@ZPTVChannel okay thank you!
Plus I’m sure they didn’t use the greatest materials for it either,
Is it going to work on the back too ??
It should! The fitting is on the side near the top!
Thanks 🙏🏼
Please tell me where did you get the part from the one we have gotten is not the right one and it's from the dealer.
I ordered mine off Amazon! I’ll see if I can find the link real quick!

Fantastic video!
Thank you!
@@ZPTVChannel live in dominican Republic its never cold😂. Thanks for the advice 🙏 helps a lot.
@@maarkkawis801 oh lol then yea other than the premature wear on the compressor it’s not much of an issue!
What’s the name of that part got a air suspension message on my Jeep as well
There’s a leak in the description for the part!
What if I can hear the air coming out from the back end?😭 would it be the same issue
Most likely is!
My copmpass on my 2018 jeep grand cherokee overland is off. When I go south it's saying its going north. Had some suspension issues like yourself and they charged me 500 dollars for a diagnostic and nitro fill truck is up now but it just stays where its at please help.
I’m having problems with the rear being “slammed” I just ordered the part you mentioned from Amazon. Will it work for the rear?
I’m pretty sure the fittings are the same. The fittings will be on the side near the top instead of on top like the fronts!
@@ZPTVChannel ok thanks for the info 🫡
I'm having this issue with my rear tires and the sound of air shooting out after a while
Could be the same issue. The fittings are the same in the back they’re just on the side of the bag instead of on top.
@@ZPTVChannel awesome thank you I will look into the Fittings.
@@ZPTVChannelhello. Only the rear is sagging. Where is the fitting for the rear located?
If you look be hind the rear tire it’s near the top of the air strut on the side!
@@ZPTVChannel thanks!
I switch the struts suspension parts both sides under the hood. & it’s still slammed to the ground on the front. And there’s no leaks. What would be my next step please.
The next step after that would either be the connection at the compressor itself or a pinhole in the air bag itself.
Where are the air valve connection points for the rear system?
It’s toward the top on the side of the air bag. Will be able to see it really good and get to it really easy if you take the back tire off!
I’m currently having this issue except my back went down first now it’s all four sides down I’m told my compressor is working what could it be
Most likely these air fittings they’re all the same front and back
❤❤❤ I never see before new to me ❤❤❤❤
I changed mine, had it refilled by the dealer, but after a month it returned to no air. So there must be another leak. Im going to spray the lines with soapy water and see what happens
Could be a leak in the airbag itself or maybe the fittings they replaced it with weren’t very good.
@ thank you, i will update when its found
we finally fixed the problem, but now all the nitrogen leaked so the jeep is still low and we are struggling to find a place that can help us out 😭
Thank you so much bro
Happy to help!
Do you think this would be the same fix if only the front passenger side sagged after sitting awhile?
Possibly but normally when one leaks it will leak down both sides because they both run off 1 main line.
@ZPTVChannel I'll give it a shot. Even overnight, only the passenger side drops down. Thanks.
@ZPTVChannel popped the hood today. Both side leaked when I turned them from side to side. Do you think it's fair to say this is my issue?
@@JestinHirzel most definitely!
@@ZPTVChannel awesome, thank you
Does cold weather affect this? I’ve never had problems with mine, until it dropped in the negatives outside.
Cold weather can freeze condensation in the lines causing the air pressure in said lines to drop and/or causing a service air suspension message until the system warms up.
Short answer to your question is yes it can!
@@ZPTVChannel It was in the low 20’s when this started. Now it keeps saying: “Air suspension cooling down” lol
Thank you just got one for wife.
Are there also air valves at the rear?
Yes! They’re the exact same valves they’re just on the side of the bag near the top!
@@ZPTVChannel thanks! Sorry English is not my mother tongue. What do you mean by side of the bag? 😇
@wayanbarre no problem! if you take off the rear tire or just get a flashlight and look behind the wheel and look at the air shock the fitting will be near the top on the side you can’t miss it!
very helpful, thanks!
I just tried but as soon as I unplug it, air goes out. How do you prevent that?
You can’t. The air will leak out when you replace the fitting but once you install the new one and start the car back up it will refill itself.
@@ZPTVChannel but you lose all the nitrogen?
@@wayanbarre yes, but the system will replace the nitrogen lost with regular air.
Man thanks so much
the first connector you removed, looks like it had teflon tape on the threads....And would you recommend using some kind of silicone lube on the o-rings for longer life?
From everything I’ve read it says not to use Teflon tape because if and when it degrades it can send bits of Teflon through the system. As far as lube goes it probably wouldn’t hurt to put some kind of lubricant on it to help it seat during the installation but I doubt it would make it last any longer.
I have this problem but if I leave it in high I’d doesn’t go down
Could be a level sensor issue
Thank you
my air suspension just went out for the first time. today its 10 degrees. the compressor made a loud noise and it seemed like it was stuck in rising height but it did not rise when i pressed the height adjustment button and only the front is lowered. any suggestions?
When it gets really cold like that and there’s not enough nitrogen in the system the condensation from the outside air the system brings in, to make up for the lost nitrogen, will freeze up the system. If I were you I would wait until it gets back above freezing and see if it’s still giving you fits!
Yeah I bet everyone quadralift is frozen for the next few days
@@Stone2915 mines been popping up service air suspension for 2 days lol it got a little warmer today and after driving it for a while it seems to be back to normal. Probably until it sits overnight and freezes again lol
Myne went down when temperature dropped below -15c . It such a disappointment because I bought a car just 1 week ago(. Who has more expirience with this air suspension, is it worth fixing it? Will it stands -20 or -30°c ?
@@ig_vlog_channel apparently the compressor freezes because it has moisture in it. once the temperature rises above freezing it should fill
up. if not gotta change the compressor
i get a massege air suspension require imidate service/repair require. any help will be appricated.
Probably a bad fuse, bad air leak, or worse case scenario a bad compressor..
Dropping the vise grips , we all know that feeling when you paused. Lol
Words wanted to be said but I want to keep this channel family friendly lol 😂
yep, but he had a successful Plinko moment as it went all the way through the engine bay to the ground
No teflon tape on the threads?
No! They say no to use it because as time goes on the tape gets brittle and can break off and send little pieces through the system.
@@ZPTVChannel good to know. I just bought an Overland with all 4 wheels collapsed, so I'll try changing the valves.
Do you where rear ones are located at?
They’re near the top of the bag right behind the rear tire! You can get a really good look if you pull the wheel off but you can get to it without taking the wheel off!
The joe dirt tho😂😂🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you for the video
Happy to help!
what is the part you got off amazon . mine is 2012 Overland not a hemi is that the same part needed as my air suspension will not raise. it is at its lowest/ Need it fixed thanks
Yes, it’s the same part for the non-hemi as well!
I think mine it's the compressor because no leak on the top because I don't hear the compressor make any sound at all
You should be able to hear it… I would check fuses and relays first but luckily the compressor isn’t crazy expensive so if it is it shouldn’t be to bad!
@@ZPTVChannel yeah because the compressor will make sound for a few seconds then cut off til the next day thanks so much sir
