I put take on this one cuz it was dining pendemic they didn’t have the pipes but they super easy to change or u can do the same it still working good it dosent carry any high pressure or any type of liquid so it’s good anways. Great job find the issue !!! This could be disaster with some shop they will change the whole system for $1800 and still have this leak. Nice job!!!

    RB is THE MAN....
had a P0440 code on my bro-in-law 2018 Grand Cherokee (her daughter smelled 'something' when driving).
Pretty sure the solution could be found on youtube.
Clicked on RB the Mechanic (first).... who pointed me to the exact problem (that cheap / thin plastic evap hose connector).
    Many thanks my friend

Just fixed mine last night..2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 3.6 engine..exact same problem..had a P0456 code..thought it was the evap valve that sits right on top of the engine..as per OReilly’s recommendation..changed it in their parking lot..cleared the code and drove off..everything looked good until a few days ago the check engine light came back on..went back to OReilly’s..same code again..this time they put me on to a mobile mechanic..I was going to get it smoke tested..$50 bucks..no problem..met with him in OReilly’s parking lot last night..looked around in the engine bay at the evap lines and VIOLA..found cracks around the connection point on one of the hoses..wrapped some tape around it and called it the night..cost me nothing..should solve the problem..if it comes back I now know where to look..

I have a 2016 Grand Cherokee 3.6L my hose was OK but the Canister Purge Valve it attaches to was bad, It leaked by. I could blow through mine and you should NOT be able to do that. Dealer said it just needed an update and when the code came back I decided to investigate it myself rather than be insulted again at the dealer. Besides the MIL light (small evap leak) I had other symptoms that went away after I replaced it. Those were hard starting when the engine was hot, really hard starting after a fuel fill up and hard brake pedal when the engine was off. Good luck!

I really think the engine heat are getting to the lines there. Those lines in the engine bay are heat-shrunk by alot. So much so that where the lines go over the barb fittings, the black tubing is stretched so much that they are literally white now. No splits though surprisingly enough. Thinking I'll have to have someone smoke it to see where my problem is.

Hey bro on this jeep there is a small valve or something at the end of a vacuum line coming from cpv valve. It is secured to the drivers side strut tower and looks like a ribbed stick. It's clipped to drivers side strut tower right behind air filter box. What the heck is that thing I can't figure It out

2018 WK2 3.6 Pentastar, 50K miles. Exact same problem. Shame on FCA "engineers" for specifying all of this plastic garbage under the hood, and this one takes the cake as it's literally acting like heat shrink. Find the designer and invalidate their engineering license. Amateur!
Plastic on the engine does not hold up to thermal stresses. That includes the intake manifold, too. (Search the legendary Wrangler manifold cracking issue on the same motor.)
    Planned obsolescence, IMO.

ESIM was replaced. Codes cleared. Came back on the next day.
Smoke test was run. No further leak… it cleared the code. Engine light came on one week later.
