As a lefty (wrong handed shooter), I love that company like Springfield Armory made a full ambi handgun, which is the Echelon. And now that they made a comp version of the Echelon, it’s really great for us lefties out there to become faster when it comes to reloads and follow up shots. 🤙🏻
Good stuff Cole, thanks for sharing. As a lefty I typically release the mag with my index finger and then do a power rack. Back on AD I used to have to qualify with P229 / M11 quite often. However, the standard for Aircrew was nothing compared to NSW. So we had a ton of time to get our shots off.
ONLY critique - for those who are new… crawl before you walk and walk before you run… this comes with time and safety first ALWAYS. Maybe get a functional airsoft variant of a P series sig or DA/SA pistol and harp on weapons safety fundamentals. These guys are experts and professionals
Lefty here. I had a CZ 75 SPO1. I originally purchased that pistol because of the manipulation I had to do. It had a large slide release, which made it easier than a glock. Essentially, I was doing the same thing as you are. Ended up trading that in for a gen 5 Glock 45 with the ambi slide release. Life is easier now lol. Still use my middle finger for the mag release, but I'll get over it.
Jeez, that's all kinds of weird finger soup. 😂 I didn't ever get to learn to shoot pistols in the Corps, but learning to shoot the m16a4 as a lefty was quite a learning curve because apparently, my dominant eye is my left.
Trying to learn all of the things here. Being a lefty is tough for these applications. But I’m stubborn so I’m hellbent on learning. Learning to be ambidextrous is also something I want to train for as well. as well. Thanks for the content.
I own the P226 MK25 and it´s my favorite pistol. I´m a lefty but with a little bit of practicing it shoots very great. I also have got a 1911 and it still works fine .
I run my MK25 226 in USPSA and IDPA left handed and never really thought about mag release, decocking, or slide release kind of came naturally. But to right handed they tell me it looks weird 😂
This is very interesting, i started out doing the way cole did his reloads minus for me i was able to hit the mag release with my index finger (dominant side) same with the decoker. To depress the slide release i used my support hand side and depress the slide release with my middle finger (non dominant). I found it to be easier that way for me is so I have a tight purchase on the pistol with my strong side so i dont drop the pistol or if an assaliant gets too close they cant get the pistol out of my hand or have a harder time too get it out. Thats me doing the reloads. Dj is right left handed reloads are very unorthodox and as a lefty i wish i was right handed
Thank you so much for the good information. Can we please get more lefty videos. There is a severe lack of information on left handed manual of arms across the AR and handgun platforms
Cole is an amazing teacher, he really should spend more time in front of the camera going over this stuff. That lefty manipulation was god tier shit. You know his girl is happy lol. "finger over the other finger, swing middle finger down manipulate and rotate"
Honestly, the only control that I found needed for left-handed manipulation to be on par with right is the ambi slide stop/release like on the p320s. Using my trigger finger to release the mag release left-handed vs. My thumb with the right hand wasn't a major deal.
Great!! Now since you live in reality and have tons of experience..is there an opportunity when you have to pick a teammates gun or somebody elses? So even as a left handed you still have to train for right handed guns, right? Or how would you handle that scenario?
Being a lefty sucks, I always had to use my support hand to hit the slide release. Just because my hand was already there when reaquiring. Mag release and de-cocker was performed the same in this video. Total nightmare 😅
Hey can You show is how You put magazines to pouch? I mean which side of magazines should be go forward and hownto catch magazine and load to pistol. Thanks for video
I will say this… as a youngin messing with the P series sigs, I’m not lefty like Cole but semi-ambi like he is and when I practiced left handed on Sig P series (P228, P229, P226,etc) the controls actually somehow made more sense besides the F-150 style side step style nonsense, or was it nonsense? Like a vudu magic situation where the gun is “setup” for right handed shooters - however that little flare gives more room for untraditional finger movement because if you’re left handed your fingers are longer than your thumb so you actually kinda need more room to work with? If that makes sense? Anyways seeing Cole manipulate the P series the same way I figured out how to do it offhand as a kid, was very much a feeling of redemption lol like ahhh I’m not the only one who fingered that out lmao love Glocks all day but sig has my heart. Those of us who grew up on that DA/SA trigger life… that’s where men learn how to shoot… striker fire? Mehhhh
Grew up on the 220. Being a lefty is there an advantage to using the slide release as opposed to just racking it? I've got the mag release and decocker down but can't seem to get comfortable on the slide release.
Being a lefty myself. specially with the glock i use a extended mag release and can manipulate the mag release with my inside knuckle of my middle finger. with the extended slide release i can hold back the slide by kinda breaking grip and pushing up with my shooter finger. I know the military likes gross movements but other than decocking the weapons whats stopping from just pulling the slide back instead of hitting the slide release with your finger and contorting your hand like that?
Also, random thought but Cole for example is ambi favoring left. But what is his dominant eye? That’s more of what I think they looked into developing this back in like WW1? More about eye dominance instead of left vs right handedness? Like I know he said he fires handguns differently than rifles? That’s not so uncommon? I guess I was blessed to be correct 😅😂 God speed fellas love the content
Sometimes it can be advantageous. I dont know if id even like a left handed mag and slide release because i find it easier to manipulate the way i learned how. Left handed AR, theres no reason for it. Worst thing is that your right arm eats brass casings shooting in certain positions or using a 45 degree offset dot and thats not a big deal
I own a MK25, and my only question is - how or why would SEALs have gone to that platform? Maybe it's because I am a PFSF guy, but the MK25 feels super clumsy to me and I cannot imagine carrying it for duty or combat.
When shooting my p365 x macro I usually would do the same thing with the slide release. My gun also auto chamber when putting a new mag even if I put in a new mag lightly. I thought my gun was broken cause of this but then I asked an instructor about the auto chamber and he said I’m inserting my mags at a angle which causes this and he also said it means I’m creating a bad habit. Can some one tell me about this
As a lefty with small hands it's easier to shoot with my left hand. The controls are difficult to me shooting right handed. Best pistol for Lefties H&K USP, P2000, VP9, P30 etc.
Lastly… what’s happening over at Sig… 😬 stop it… you were in 1st place. It’s like AB and LB with B… it wasn’t broke stop fixing it. The legion series Sigs… why do I feel the need to fix it back to what it was? Great trigger but the standout controls didn’t need to be messed with imo. So I’m about to do to my legion sigs with what I did to my Glocks etc. that slide release needs to be available and was never a problem and for Glocks that mag release needs to be more P series available lol also, I know nothing this is just my opinion take it for what you will 🤷♂️ love you all
Too dificult for this lefty. I use my trigger finger on the magazine release and slingshot the slide. The decocker I don't have or want. Ambi safety is my preference.
Finally some tips for the left handed
All of us left handers say thanks for this video!!!!🇺🇸
Lefty here. Thanks guys! Keep up the great work
Dj providing me with another reminder that I’m small as hell
I’m small too.
No worries

I appreciate this dude so much. What a legend.
Absolutely love watching Cole and DJ putting in work true professionals of what they do .

It's like writing in school in a spiral notebook, you have to adapt and overcome. I am a lefty with short fat fingers.
Life and death shooting/having to hook your hand on a spiral notebook and getting pencil smudge on your hand… yup basically the same thing! 😂
FYI, the mag release can be put on the right side for lefties. That is the only part than can be changed on the classic “P” series Sig pistols.
Jeez, that's all kinds of weird finger soup. 😂 I didn't ever get to learn to shoot pistols in the Corps, but learning to shoot the m16a4 as a lefty was quite a learning curve because apparently, my dominant eye is my left.

As a fellow southpaw you give me hope Cole lol
Kelly Mc helped me a lot with DA on draw + trig manipulation
I run my MK25 226 in USPSA and IDPA left handed and never really thought about mag release, decocking, or slide release kind of came naturally. But to right handed they tell me it looks weird 😂

A fast left handed is a really fast operator...
Finnaly left hand gets some lovvve

Cole said ask the ladies about my finger skills.🤣

Damn, next I thought he was going to reload with his toes........amazing hand manipulation .
tx man.
I’m a lefty and I found just using the slide stop as a stop and just racking the slide to release was more natural for me
Fellow Lefties here, nice drills.
Left handed shooting is something I would recommend still training , you may need that non dominant training
Impressive, most impressive
After my initial pistol qual I bought my own and just learned to shoot right handed. RH pistol, stayed LH on long guns.
Left hand reloads I just rack the slide 🛝 makes for same manual of ops for both mitts 🤷♂️
Cole, throw on a big divers watch
Heros.
More. Lefty. Content!!!
As a lefty, I regularly just rack the slide when I shoot a pistol without an ambi slide release instead of breaking my grip
Being a lefty sucks, I always had to use my support hand to hit the slide release. Just because my hand was already there when reaquiring. Mag release and de-cocker was performed the same in this video. Total nightmare 😅

Can u give me your opinion I’m very new to firearms on tt combats master- staccato and sig 226 pls best to worst just curious

What is the time standard?
Hey bro looks like your good bro.
How tall is DJ
6’1
@@GBRSGrouphow much does he weigh? greetings and respect from germany
I'm pretty sure Houston is a lefty. That said, I assume he wasn't teaching at that point when ya'll were at Shaw's.

They should do a review of their yoga pants.

Flip it upside-down, problem solved.😇

lol , and it was replaced by the Mk27 for several reasons ....
LEFT SIDE STRONG SIDE

Lefties can also learn to become righties.
This is especially helpful when it comes to voting.
I was taught by one of your own, that it was better to slide the rack back than pushing down the slide release.
It’s not ‘left-handed’ it’s ‘wrong-handed’
Fr.
Yep
“The standard is the standard” is Cole a Steelers fan or is coach Tomlin a SEALs fan? Anyways SIG SAUER P SERIES 🤌
