Yeah, I levelled it up because he's best boi, it's at 9 right now and he can do 20k vaporize shots with rust lol. I was thinking to get and level up the prototype bow and get a good wanderer's troupe set to see if I can make hydro Ganyu, but I never have time or resin to spare :(

Yeah even though I simp for Hu Tao, no character eclipses the sheer enjoyment I get from Childe getting a huge riptide proc on a group of enemies and see the particles fly everywhere and everything dies.
Because of his unique playstyle, playing as Childe never gets boring because you can always switch it up or try a new combo. As a certified Albedo simp, Childe is my favorite character to play and it is SO fun seeing so much AOE dmg being dealt
literally me. My c1 hu tao + xingqiu do so much damage on charged attack spam. But it doesn't beat the satisfaction of hitting multiple enemies witth childe's melee stance.

Finally some1 who understands childe’s pro’s and cons many people depict him as unplayable without his constellations but really he is viable, although you do really need to invest with 3 decent built characters (fischel,beidou,bennet,xinq) which is expensive. @@Zy0x well, two of them are like universally used (Bennett and xinqui) while fischl is popular but not on the same league, while beidou is a niche. The only thing people would need to build is a good xiangling for him imo. Not really expensive cause she's a great Pyro support with most people already using Bennet.

I've been underperforming with Childe for ages despite having a good team comp for him (Beidou, Bennett, Kazuha) and the strategy you show in this video basically revealed to me I've been playing him backwards, lol. Now that I see how to use him right, the hunt for good artifacts continues...
I'm late to the party here, but when you deactivate his elemental skill it reactivates the heart of the depths effect. If you level us his basic attack, combined with his passive you can actually do some pretty good damage with his charged attack against single targets.

Also, the childe-xiangling duo has another facet that is ignored. On your Childe and xiangling downtime, you should charged shot with Childe. When you put down guoba, the interval between each fire breath is exactly the time needed for fully charging an aimed shot. So ater each hit of guoba you can hit a massive vaporise shot. That's a total of 4 vaporise shots. It's amazing to put that into your rotations.

It’s so hard as a Childe simp and love for style points but also need for more power to choose between an R4 Rust and a choice to get the Viridecent Hunt for him. Ended up just giving Keqing the black sword instead and Childe with the Rust. Rust just looks so good on him lmao
OH MY GOD I KNOOOW. I really love Hunt because of its effect, but Rust is just perfect for his aesthetic. The day when dev releases weapon skin is the day I'll finally pick Hunt over Rust.
@@hiuramybeloved The highlight is if you have enough crit rate. The truth is it's hard to balance crit rate with crit dmg with artifacts alone unless you're lucky with artifacts roll. I spent more than a month in HoD domain and the best I could get was around 60% crit rate and 120% crit damage I think? With crit rate substat on a weapon you can put in more crit damage while keeping the good 1:2 ratio. I know the atk stat from Rust kinda make it up. However, Rust lessen your charged atk. In the end it depends on the refinement level, your artifacts roll, etc. About the Hunt's passive, I respect your opinion but I disagree. Hunt is very good for Childe especially vs mobs because of its mini cc. Unless you already have another member like Venti, Kazuha, and Sucrose, the effect is good to keep the mobs close to you so you don't have to scatter them and dash again. Very good for riptide. And even if you do have other cc source, the bow's effect is still nice because you can group them without having to switch member again (especially considering Childe's ele skill will go in cd). Facing single enemies, of course it doesn't feel like a huge thing. But cc is very important especially on end game content like Spiral Abyss because the floor usually have mobs rather than a single enemy.

I was never lucky with artifacts and weapons. I've been saving up for Childe since Venti's rerun and I won the 50% on the morning of Childe's rerun. I saved up some artifacts for him which came accidentally (actually a pretty good hydro dmg bonus noblesse one), but I gave him 4pc heart of depths. Later I changed it to 2pc heart of depths and 2pc noblesse oblige. He has a lvl 60 rust. So, I was stuck on abyss 6-2 and decided to try it with Childe. For the first party I used Xiao, Albedo, Chongyun and Barbara, and for the second party I used Childe, Fischl, Bennett and Xiangling. From this party, who had a build was only the lvl 70 Childe (with kind of acceptable artifacts), supp Bennett and burst Xiangling (she only has artifacts but none of them are leveled up, only the flower). And they carried me until 9-1. It's a huge achievement for me, because I've been stuck on the 6th floor for so long even though I've tried it soooo many times. And with Childe I could reach 9 while getting all the stars (i complted 9-1 with only 2 stars tho) He's a godly character even without a decent build. He managed to do 105k dmg with Bennett buff (my Bennett isn't that good either). Okay, it was in Abyss with the elemental burst damage, but still, not even my Xiao or Albedo was able to do something like that before while they have much better builds than my Childe (artifacts, talents, weapons etc.) To anyone who underestimates him: DON'T do it. He's the best 🥰
I really appreciate how you can honestly say that Childe doesnt need constellations to be good and show proof of it. So many whales will say the same, but then they're showing you footage of them playing with a C6 Childe while saying "he doesnt need these to be good uwu" and it's like...it feels kind of empty to be told that when the person saying it is using him C6 and not showing you proof that the character doesnt need it. So yeah basically I enjoyed this video, especially as someone who just got Childe on his rerun by accident when trying to get fischl constellations haha. I actually got him C1 without trying to. Sacrificial Bow does reset your elemental skill cooldown. It resets the 1 second cooldown that you get after entering melee mode. You can see the animation when the passive procs. It's not that the passive doesn't work. It's that the passive gets wasted.
I watched this a week ago and felt compelled to get skyward harp. As a f2p I was doubtful that I'd get it so I started single summoning on the weapon banner. Lo and behold I actually pulled skyward harp of my first single for today! Oh and I pulled tartaglia and risariaon my first and only multi I saved up to try get tartaglia after pulling Venti on a multi. Psych!
I really love Childe. He was my first 5* I wanted so badly and finally got him in the rerun banner. I gave him Amo‘s Bow since I already had it however I‘m not sure if I should switch to the Viridescent Hunt tho.
Great guide! I got Tortellini as soon as his banner came out because of the pity I got on trying to get Klee, but somehow I liked his playstyle. There's this one time where I had more than 10 runs on the dragonspine domain to farm for his artifacts, but in less than 3 runs I didn't expect to somewhat complete my Ganyu's artifacts first before his set, and I got lazy after that. So up 'til now my Childe runs on; 2 pc glads, 2 pc HOD and an R1 Harp that I just got last week (I also use a viridescent bow on him before). Anyways, thanks on the guide! Happy gaming. : >
Just got childe yesterday! I love his backstory and his look cause I’m a redhead big brother that cares more about them then anything. I love battle and I love using bows. Childe is just me but in game!
14:47 I sort of disagree with this. I absolutely didn't care about my team's synergy when I chose to run Tartaglia, Albedo and Venti (they're my 3 husbandos, so of course I'm running them for the majority of this game's content) When I exit bow form, I literally just Albedo E -> Venti E+Q -> Albedo E+Q -> Whoever else I have E once or twice depending on whether they use a sacrifical weapon or not (Usually this is Xingqiu since I do want at least a little healing - though I sometimes Barbara just for the thrilling tales + hydro damage buff from c2) Whenever I switch back to Tartaglia, I usually have my elemental skill at no longer than 5 seconds left so I fill it with a bow form burst and 2-3 charged shots to reapply riptide and do a few riptide bursts. IMO, it's fine to run him as the only main dps as long as you have supports with good energy recharge that are able to just use their skill and burst in rotations. One thing I don't really understand is why people believe his bow to be garbage/useless. With the exception of Ganyu's (because hers is broken), I find his bow to be the best in the game as every other bow user has no additional effect from normal or charged attacks other than elemental infusion -- and Fischl if you count her c1 or charged shots into Oz.
I think it's because of the bow's balance. Bow charged shots are already pretty good and deal big single damage and able to hit weak spots. I think it's because a lot of people simply like auto attacking, in Ganyu's case her charged shots are literally her only source of DPS outside her ult while Childe has his melee stance. Fischl is more viable as Physical if built as DPS but that falls of late game due to how bow autos are designed. And with auto attacks bow autos suck because it doesn't AOE like melee and has bad auto target aim, this is why a lot of people see Amber as kinda bad since she's the most average of the bow characters. That being said I also believe bows also aren't useless since they also have their utility but people nowadays measure meta on the Abyss where you rarely need charged shots like in the overworld for sniping far away characters which is why people have the perception of it being useless and time consuming. In Childe's case his bow stance still has something unique due to his kit like charged shots applying riptide and his bow stance burst for applying riptide to all enemies within ranged and then switching to melee in one quick swoop without needing to crit for riptide and is generally what I do so his bow stance isn't useless at all, but more like impractical.

Ideally Childe is played for 10-15secs meele and then swapped to ur supports to do their E and Q and when their Q is up again u swap back on Childe, at that point his E is back.At least that's how my comp and rotation works
I heard in Childe Mains they said c6 is more of a cancel to errors and just an okaish constellation but weak.while C3 is his best;)

This video was a big help! I've been underperforming with Childe for ages despite having a good team comp for him (Beidou, Bennett, Kazuha) and the strategy you show in this video basically revealed to me I've been playing him backwards, lol. Now that I see how to use him right, the hunt for good artifacts continues...

I'm late to the party here, but when you deactivate his elemental skill it reactivates the heart of the depths effect. If you level us his basic attack, combined with his passive you can actually do some pretty good damage with his charged attack against single targets.

Also, the childe-xiangling duo has another facet that is ignored.
On your Childe and xiangling downtime, you should charged shot with Childe. When you put down guoba, the interval between each fire breath is exactly the time needed for fully charging an aimed shot.
So ater each hit of guoba you can hit a massive vaporise shot. That's a total of 4 vaporise shots.
It's amazing to put that into your rotations.

It’s so hard as a Childe simp and love for style points but also need for more power to choose between an R4 Rust and a choice to get the Viridecent Hunt for him. Ended up just giving Keqing the black sword instead and Childe with the Rust. Rust just looks so good on him lmao
OH MY GOD I KNOOOW. I really love Hunt because of its effect, but Rust is just perfect for his aesthetic. The day when dev releases weapon skin is the day I'll finally pick Hunt over Rust.

R3 rust or higher is def better than the bp bow if you have enough crit rate. The viridescent's passive is shit compared with the other bp weapobs
@@hiuramybeloved The highlight is if you have enough crit rate. The truth is it's hard to balance crit rate with crit dmg with artifacts alone unless you're lucky with artifacts roll. I spent more than a month in HoD domain and the best I could get was around 60% crit rate and 120% crit damage I think? With crit rate substat on a weapon you can put in more crit damage while keeping the good 1:2 ratio.
I know the atk stat from Rust kinda make it up. However, Rust lessen your charged atk. In the end it depends on the refinement level, your artifacts roll, etc.
About the Hunt's passive, I respect your opinion but I disagree. Hunt is very good for Childe especially vs mobs because of its mini cc. Unless you already have another member like Venti, Kazuha, and Sucrose, the effect is good to keep the mobs close to you so you don't have to scatter them and dash again. Very good for riptide. And even if you do have other cc source, the bow's effect is still nice because you can group them without having to switch member again (especially considering Childe's ele skill will go in cd). Facing single enemies, of course it doesn't feel like a huge thing. But cc is very important especially on end game content like Spiral Abyss because the floor usually have mobs rather than a single enemy.

I was never lucky with artifacts and weapons. I've been saving up for Childe since Venti's rerun and I won the 50% on the morning of Childe's rerun. I saved up some artifacts for him which came accidentally (actually a pretty good hydro dmg bonus noblesse one), but I gave him 4pc heart of depths. Later I changed it to 2pc heart of depths and 2pc noblesse oblige. He has a lvl 60 rust.
So, I was stuck on abyss 6-2 and decided to try it with Childe. For the first party I used Xiao, Albedo, Chongyun and Barbara, and for the second party I used Childe, Fischl, Bennett and Xiangling. From this party, who had a build was only the lvl 70 Childe (with kind of acceptable artifacts), supp Bennett and burst Xiangling (she only has artifacts but none of them are leveled up, only the flower). And they carried me until 9-1. It's a huge achievement for me, because I've been stuck on the 6th floor for so long even though I've tried it soooo many times. And with Childe I could reach 9 while getting all the stars (i complted 9-1 with only 2 stars tho)
He's a godly character even without a decent build. He managed to do 105k dmg with Bennett buff (my Bennett isn't that good either). Okay, it was in Abyss with the elemental burst damage, but still, not even my Xiao or Albedo was able to do something like that before while they have much better builds than my Childe (artifacts, talents, weapons etc.)
To anyone who underestimates him: DON'T do it. He's the best 🥰

I really appreciate how you can honestly say that Childe doesnt need constellations to be good and show proof of it. So many whales will say the same, but then they're showing you footage of them playing with a C6 Childe while saying "he doesnt need these to be good uwu" and it's like...it feels kind of empty to be told that when the person saying it is using him C6 and not showing you proof that the character doesnt need it. So yeah basically I enjoyed this video, especially as someone who just got Childe on his rerun by accident when trying to get fischl constellations haha. I actually got him C1 without trying to. But it looks like im going to be running the heart of depths domain for the next few weeks.

Pro tip : use burst before tou use your skill so you can know how much have you been in your elemental skill
Sacrificial Bow does reset your elemental skill cooldown. It resets the 1 second cooldown that you get after entering melee mode. You can see the animation when the passive procs. It's not that the passive doesn't work. It's that the passive gets wasted.

I watched this a week ago and felt compelled to get skyward harp. As a f2p I was doubtful that I'd get it so I started single summoning on the weapon banner. Lo and behold I actually pulled skyward harp of my first single for today! Oh and I pulled tartaglia and risariaon my first and only multi I saved up to try get tartaglia after pulling Venti on a multi. Psych!
I really love Childe. He was my first 5* I wanted so badly and finally got him in the rerun banner. I gave him Amo‘s Bow since I already had it however I‘m not sure if I should switch to the Viridescent Hunt tho.
Great guide! I got Tortellini as soon as his banner came out because of the pity I got on trying to get Klee, but somehow I liked his playstyle. There's this one time where I had more than 10 runs on the dragonspine domain to farm for his artifacts, but in less than 3 runs I didn't expect to somewhat complete my Ganyu's artifacts first before his set, and I got lazy after that. So up 'til now my Childe runs on; 2 pc glads, 2 pc HOD and an R1 Harp that I just got last week (I also use a viridescent bow on him before). Anyways, thanks on the guide! Happy gaming. : >
Just got childe yesterday! I love his backstory and his look cause I’m a redhead big brother that cares more about them then anything. I love battle and I love using bows. Childe is just me but in game!

I sort of disagree with this.
I absolutely didn't care about my team's synergy when I chose to run Tartaglia, Albedo and Venti (they're my 3 husbandos, so of course I'm running them for the majority of this game's content)
When I exit bow form, I literally just Albedo E -> Venti E+Q -> Albedo E+Q -> Whoever else I have E once or twice depending on whether they use a sacrifical weapon or not (Usually this is Xingqiu since I do want at least a little healing - though I sometimes Barbara just for the thrilling tales + hydro damage buff from c2)
Whenever I switch back to Tartaglia, I usually have my elemental skill at no longer than 5 seconds left so I fill it with a bow form burst and 2-3 charged shots to reapply riptide and do a few riptide bursts.
IMO, it's fine to run him as the only main dps as long as you have supports with good energy recharge that are able to just use their skill and burst in rotations.
One thing I don't really understand is why people believe his bow to be garbage/useless.
With the exception of Ganyu's (because hers is broken), I find his bow to be the best in the game as every other bow user has no additional effect from normal or charged attacks other than elemental infusion -- and Fischl if you count her c1 or charged shots into Oz.
I think it's because of the bow's balance. Bow charged shots are already pretty good and deal big single damage and able to hit weak spots. I think it's because a lot of people simply like auto attacking, in Ganyu's case her charged shots are literally her only source of DPS outside her ult while Childe has his melee stance.
Fischl is more viable as Physical if built as DPS but that falls of late game due to how bow autos are designed. And with auto attacks bow autos suck because it doesn't AOE like melee and has bad auto target aim, this is why a lot of people see Amber as kinda bad since she's the most average of the bow characters.
That being said I also believe bows also aren't useless since they also have their utility but people nowadays measure meta on the Abyss where you rarely need charged shots like in the overworld for sniping far away characters which is why people have the perception of it being useless and time consuming. In Childe's case his bow stance still has something unique due to his kit like charged shots applying riptide and his bow stance burst for applying riptide to all enemies within ranged and then switching to melee in one quick swoop without needing to crit for riptide and is generally what I do so his bow stance isn't useless at all, but more like impractical.
Childe charge shot is mediocre compared to his E, no AOE, harder to use, can be staggered, just not that good
