- LEAF's 41st festival was themed "The Spirit of Nola" and featured many bands from the New Orleans area. This is one of the festival favorites, Rising Appalachia performing at The Lakeside Stage on Friday evening. Climbing Poetree from Brooklyn, NY joined them during this set. You were singing words i could not find for affirmation of what my Grandmothers taught me from birth nurtured in the rivers mountains of Northern California the river foothills and the high mountains of the Sierras where my mom was born and i was conceived ~ i am magnetically grounded in these mountains unlike anywhere I've ever been in my 62 years. i lost my connection to my inner knowing for a few decades. you have helped bring forth my Soul knowing again. Raised in a family & city filled with music, mountain women, & SanFrancisco one of the best musical centers of the world in the 1960's thru 1980's when i traveled north & then east I've not seen you play live yet. i pray the opportunity will come b4 i leave this dimension. if not, I'll be with you in Spiritual Presence. Your music will live on through generations. I saw this band for the first time at LEAF's Eden Hall in 2011 and that's all it took. I hated to miss this 2015 LEAF show, but have seen them perform many other times and will see them many more times once the pandemic chaos relents. A band I deeply love for both musical and non-musical reasons --- although it's really hard to tell where those things separate, if they do.
Love these gals and their friends. Was fortunate enough to catch them at a small venue in Billings, MT this fall and then at a bigger venue at Little Five Points in Atlanta last month. They are a big part of the much needed healing salve music movement for the world.
What a discovery! These two are making my work week so much more enjoyable. I can't wait to listen while sailing...

Saw them in Philly at the World Cafe 2 years ago. Most peaceful and bright shining souls ive ever met, the crowd was full of amazing people. They draw in the good thats for sure. like Nahko
