Megan, I’m so sorry for the loss of your grandma; I know you will miss her. I loved your sweet tribute and how you dedicated that delicious meal to her. Lots of prayers for you and your family. ❤️
It is so cute watching you stop Miller from tumbling over while you are reading to the other kiddos. It reminded me of myself many years ago when my kids were little. I am probably not your typical subscriber as I am a 66 year old woman. But, I love watching the simplicity of your life. As a Christian Grandma, I so enjoy watching how you are raising your children. You bring a smile to me every week. God bless you and your sweet family.
Megan I always like your videos just for the content. But I have to admit your editing skills are quite exceptional. Feel like I'm watching something sophisticated. Thank you so much for sharing your life And your treasures with us! Much love and success
Yes, I have had whoopie pies myself and I have made them. I have had chocolate, red velvet, oatmeal, chocolate raspberry, chocolate peanut butter, and pumpkin. I sell these in my shop here in VA and get them from Sunnyside up in Lancaster. :) Your grandmother sounded like a lovely person and I am sure she was proud of you and all you have done. The best thing about grandmas is the influence they have on us. I know mine did as yours did. Blessings.
Megan, I see a lot of grandmothers watch your channel. Little kids grow up in the blink of an eye. Though my child is grown, I love catching up with your family.
I’m a grandma too. I have two girls and two grandchildren and one sue any moment. I enjoy the channel and recipes etc. age is a number. In our mind we are all young moms again while watching these type vlogs lol
I think a lot of that is because in their day, and mine as well, growing up in the 70s and 80s, there was a lot more cooking from scratch. This channel is a nice reminder. We would cook a lot on Saturdays, and freeze it. That's mostly what we ate on. If we had leftover scraps, it all was thrown in a frying pan the next Saturday, and called Ching Chow. That was my grandpa's idea. My paternal grandparents married in the early 30s, so that's one of the many depression era *gourmet* meals they created. Food was not wasted.
It really is just a wink of an eye. My eldest grandson just turned 18 and heading to college along with his girlfriend heading to college with future plans after graduation. I can bearly believe it.
@@lorainefleeman6011 that’s a good point! We did a lot of baking and cooking, plus I made all my daughter’s clothes and most of mine. Megan’s lifestyle brings that back.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother, thank you for sharing about her. What a lovely woman to look up to and be inspired by! How comforting to know we will be reunited with those we love who are in Christ, although they are still missed by us here on earth. Also thanks for sharing all these amazing looking recipes- my kids were watching with me and are begging me to make those whoopie pies! Can’t wait to try them.
From someone who does not enjoy cooking, I love to watch cooking shows. I felt like your video was a wonderful cooking show. You make cooking look so effortless all the while with 3 children in tow! Thank you for sharing your recipe ideas. I have never had a whoopie pie so may have to try baking them! I am so very sorry for the loss of your grandmother. I love how you speak of her and honor who she was. She sounds like a wonderful woman who lived a beautiful life. I was very close to my grandmother, who had very little materialistic but was rich in her love. She loved us all unconditionally and lived to be 94 years old. I too aspire to be like her and love on our grandchildren and pray for our children and grandchildren like she did. Thank you for taking us along in your beautiful day!! You INSPIRE!!!!!!
Love how you keep it real. Also so love seeing people of your age and generation cooking home meals from scratch. Feel like most younger people eat quick and instant ( less healthy) meals.
I am a grandmother of 5 and I love your channel! Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I love your family! You and Josh are doing a great job! I had surgery on my ankle going to be laid up for a little bit...can't wait to make to pies! I learn things from You! That hack you showed us wrapping up the whoopee pies was great! Your recipes are awesome! I love your style too! Lots of Love 💗
I remember you answering questions while filling whoopie pies in one of your old videos. I think y’all were even in your old house! I’ve been around a while and still love watching your videos! They are always a source of peace and encouragement for me. ❤️
I’m so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. I lost my grandmother years ago and she was such a special part of my life. Grandmas fill a special role unlike anyone else in our lives. May she rest peacefully I’m heaven. ❤️
Sounds like your grandma was a wonderful person. I lost my grandmother in 2016 from a sudden heartattack while in church. She was the pastor’s wife and pianist for over 60 years and was sitting behind the piano letting another lady play this night and all of sudden she grunted, slumped over and was gone. Not a bad way to get out of here if you ask me. She was also the type of lady who ate while she was cooking and never sat down. We truly do have a great heritage in our grandmothers.
Thank you for sharing your day! So sorry about the loss of your Grandma. I'm sure she will be missed by you and your family. Extra prayers for you and yours during this time.
So sorry for your loss. I’ll be praying for y’all . Sounds like your Grandma had a wonderful and joyful life serving her family. How sweet of you to honor her memory with your family meal. ❤️ I love chocolate Whoopie pies. Loved seeing the little chocolate faces. 😁 Take care and hope y’all have a blessed Easter.
Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Loved how you spoke of your grandmother. Sounds like you were so blessed to have her in your life.
Your family is so sweet! I’m so sorry for the loss of your Grandma. She is definitely in a better place. 🙏 I will for sure try your recipes. They look scrumptious!!
My deepest sympathy for the loss of your Grandma🙏Megan and family. Those whoopie pies look so good. It’s been a while since I had one. Miller is getting big so quick! The lord has blessed you with a lot of energy and your a great Mom.
Sorry for your loss but grateful for heaven's gain. By the way you described your grandmother I think she would be so proud of you & the way you are honoring her by continuing the Mennonite ways. You're also doing great as a mom & a You Tube content creator. I love watching you & learning from you. I've always been interested in the Mennonite & Amish way of life & I love learning from someone that is real instead of the Hollywood versions.
In Western PA, we call them "gobs" My mom made pumpkin gobs and the icing had a pudding mix in it. She would use a white chocolate flavor pudding with the pumpkin cake. So good! Thanks for the video!
I live in West Philadelphia, and I get oatmeal-cookie-style whoopie pies at the Clark Park Farmer's Market (from a Mennonite family) every week! My favorite snack.
So sorry for the loss of your grandma ❤️ enjoyed this video! I have 4 littles & dinner time can be a little hectic 😂 we’re not Mennonite but definitely grew up eating good home cooked dinners around the table every night and we carry on that tradition. I do more dishes than I’d like but glad to serve my family. Prayers for your family!
Megan, I am sorry about the loss of your grandma. I just love your channel. I am a grandma and I find your videos just wonderful. I relate to all you share and I love the wonderful recipes you give us. Your family is the sweetest. I have not had a whoopie pie but will be making. Yum!
So sorry for your loss. Memories will keep her with you forever. Also, thanks for the reminder at the end.. .thnkful to have a family to cook for. Love your videos because you help me remember how blessed I am. Hope this doesn't sound creepy, but I consider you a friend. So glad I found your channel!
My mom passed from a brain aneurysm rupture at the age of 54. It was definitely not expected but in all bad things that happen, there is a reason and as hard as it is not having her here (I was 26 when she passed) I know she is in a better place now. I live in MD, about 2.5 hours away from Lancaster and Sheetz always has whoopee pies as well as other stores in our area. Our area is so close to the PA and WV line and we are seeing more and more mennonite families in the area. I've always loved watching your videos 💙 not mennonite but just drawn to your faith and laid back way of life as it is similar to ours in some ways.
Hugs to you on the loss of your grandma. I lost mine in April of last year, and I know how bittersweet it is. So happy she is rejoicing in heaven, but I know you will miss her. Love your channel and so enjoy watching each week. 💕
Sorry for your loss Megan. It sounds like your Grandma was as good as mine, she was also hard working and loved quilting. So thankful for wonderful grandmas xx
So sorry for your loss of your sweet grandma. Like you so glad she's in her new home and new body. These meals look amazing. I know your grandma is very proud of you. You are a hard worker and great mom like she was. Love the Fox family.
And I also like that the family it's together. We have been doing that more and our home as well And honestly we should all take the time to do that to come together And thank god For all of our blessings
I’m in Michigan & 71 yes old. My mother always made these every Christmas. I now make them but here in Michigan we call them “Gobs!” Thank you for making your mud pies. They look delicious.
Megan, sending prayers for healing during this time of missing your sweet grandmother. They are so special! I'm glad you have such great memories from her!
I enjoyed your video, but I’m very sorry about your Grandmother’s passing. Knowing she’s in her Heavenly Home makes it easier for you to speak of her and how wonderful she was! I liked watching you prepare and cook the roast as well as fixing the other good things for your meal. Your children were pleasant and cheerful, too. Miller loves being with his family members, especially his brother and sister! I will be thinking of you as you go into Good Friday and Easter, then into a new week. Take care.
I was smiling, watching your family eat dinner together. These are the good old days right now. As the momma of 2 very grown daughters (in their 30's) I was taken right back to those sweet days! Enjoy every precious moment! And thank you for sharing with us!
I loved this video! Thank you for sharing the recipes and the memories of your Grandma. I also always appreciate the realness of smoke alarms, dishes, and trying to balance it all. Thank you :-)
Megan, sorry about your grandma's passing. You made me remember my grandma💝She enjoyed cooking and baking and made many whoopie pies in her life! She excelled at her passion, too! We made whooopie pies at home, as well. The kinds I remember are chocolate, pumpkin, and oatmeal (Little Debbie Oatmeal Cookies). Oh yes, everything was better with browned butter!😉 And roast and more roast. So easy for my busy mom to get a roast out of the freezer the night before, then place it in the oven the next morning, and add potatoes and carrots closer to the meal.
How are you so comforting and calm and at the same time so so productive and motivational? I’m 32, just had my 3rd baby 2 weeks ago and just feel like I still have no idea what I’m doing in life and wish I had a handle on things like you! Advice ???
What a wonderful way to honor your Grandma! Your recipes sound so tasty. Especially the carrots and jello salad! I'm excited to make those for my family.
My dad is from Maine and whoopie pies are one of his favorite childhood desserts. We are lucky that the Amish people here in Southern Maryland make them too, so he still gets to enjoy them from time to time. So good! 😊
Megan, AWWW I love your sweet grandma memories & Sorry for your Loss !! Your sweet family is Great & love your music selection in your videoes !! great work
So sorry for your loss. I too lost my best friend on Palm Sunday. Such a huge hole in my heart. Beautiful that you have so many great memories. I’m happy she got to see all of your children.
Sorry about your Grandma! Thankful she is in Heaven. You are so inspiring. You make quality and thoughtful vlogs. Also branching out in a consistent way.
I am in south central KY. We have pretty good size Amish and Menonite communities. My favorite is chocolate! What precious memories you have of your grandmother. What a legacy she has left behind!
I’ve lived most of my life in the Carolinas & have had chocolate whoopie pies all my life. I had no idea they were a Mennonite recipe! They are so good. 🤤
I made whoopie pies for a Valentine's treat about 10 - 12 years ago and my kids loved them so much I have to make them every year for Valentine's Day. It gets tricky now because my 9 year old's birthday is Feb 19 but we still have to have whoopie pies and then birthday cake 5 days later or it wouldn't be V day. The recipe I found in a magazine used a powdered sugar frosting with store bought marshmallow cream added and I had no idea there was another way. I may try your frosting next year.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. I consider myself lucky that I still have one living grandparent, who, incidentally, turns 90 today. Sounds like you had a great relationship with her and you can share those memories with your children as they grow.
I have caught up on the last several videos that you've made. I feel it was very timely because I have felt like I needed something nice to watch to kind of get away from the negativity. The verse you posted about thinking about what is lovely and true just made me feel like I was watching exactly what God wanted me to see. You are so encouraging and calm and I love following along with your adventures. Thanks!
Are there Mennonites who are vegetarian or plant base? I've been vegetarian for 16 years for health reasons.. I grew up independent baptist , but I embrace a lot of the Mennonite methods when it comes to moral living, ethics, war, head covering, and dressing modestly. I love your videos and look forward to them when they come out.
Love your cooking videos. I’m going to try the Whopie pies. So sorry for your loss of your grandma, they the Lord she was saved and now in Heaven. Oh what a glad reunion we all will have in Heaven.
Awww, I’m so sorry for your loss! I just lost my Grandma too. I miss her so much, but I, like you, know she is in heaven and that gives me peace! 💕 God bless you and your family!
Sounds like your grandma was a wonderful lady. Even when we know they're in heaven, we still miss them.Your babies all have the most beautiful eyes! I could just smell your 😋 kitchen! Hugs from Missouri 🤗 🐇🐥
Megan, I am so sorry you lost your Dear Grandma! Sending a hug your way, and special thoughts to your whole family! I just love seeing your family sitting together for a meal! Soak it up and enjoy it while you can. The years fly by way too quickly, and now my kids are 22 and 23 and I just LOVE my memories of us all sitting together and sharing for our meals! So important I feel!!!!
I’m a mother to 4 children 6 yrs old o 9 months old and love watching you homemaking videos and loved the part where you’re reading to the kids and holding up Miller. Children are such a blessing! I don’t have any Christian Mom friends where I live in a rural community in Kansas and we homeschool so I get some encouragement seeing you raise your children in a similar lifestyle to our family.
So sorry to hear about your grandma! My grandma passed 6 years ago and she was very dear to my heart too and left many good examples behind! Your whoopie pie recipe IS PERFECTION!! I just made them today! So yummy and delicious!
I have had Whoopi’s pies before, we get them at a local Amish store not to far from us. I have had their chocolate with peanut butter crème inside, they are delishous. Love watching your videos and how you make most of your food. Have a great night. God Bless to you and your family.
I remember learning how to make whoopie pies at an all-girls Jewish sleep away camp in Maryland! maybe since it was near the PenMar border we got the Mennonite influence :) I also went to college in Maine, so I can confirm they know their whoopie pies!
In my PA hometown of Johnstown Whoopie Pies are called Gobs. I guess it refers to the gobs of delicious icing in the middle. You were blessed to have a loving Grandma to inspire and be proud your own hard work. May God rest her Soul.
So sorry for your loss, but praise the Lord she is rejoicing in heaven! I’m from Maine, so we have had a lot of Whoopie pies! A diner from our area ships them out! We love the traditional chocolate, and I also love pumpkin 😍
There is a Mennonite community in the mountains of Virginia and we visit the shops there every summer. My husband loves whoopie pies, the bigger the better 😂 I’ve made oatmeal whoopie pies and they are delicious!
Hi Megan! I'm a long time viewer and loved it when you mentioned Maine and our beloved dessert, the whoopie pie! Thanks for the shoutout. I had no idea the Mennonites loved this dessert too! Much love to you!
Sending prayers of comfort & strength for you & your family on the loss of your Grandma. 🙏🏻 Thank you for your creativity & content that you show your viewers. I’m a Gramma of 9 and love the recipes you share, Always going that extra step and making/creating things I enjoy too. Your DAILY GOALS help us! Thanks Again! 😊☮️✝️💟
Hi Megan, I used to work for a bakery in British Columbia in Canada where we sometimes made whoopie pies. The owner of the bakery was Mennonite! That is where I learned what a whoopie pie was and how to make them! I love them and you have reminded me about them! It has been too long since I have had one.
Sorry for the loss of your grandma. I borrowed the Book you mentioned a while back from the library. I think you picked it up at a thrift store? Elizabeth George. It was so, so good! Thanks for the rec.
Love Whoopie pies! I am also a Lancaster County girl and used to work in a bakery through college. We made whoopie pies every morning to have out and ready for the men who came into the diner after milking or on the way to work. My favorite is definitely chocolate with PB icing!
I've started making my roast in the Crock-Pot a day ahead. They slice so much better when they've been in the frig overnight. I slice then reheat in the microwave so it doesn't dry out. Will try your method--looks good!
Mennonites in Manitoba also eat Whoopie pies. I’ve had chocolate, and pumpkin ones, they are so yum! And we also have the “sweet salads”, lol. Enjoyed the video!
Meghan so sorry for the loss of your grandmom. Obviously she had an impact on your life and you loved her. Woo pie pies are delicious! I really liked your sweater on you. It was pretty. Have a blessed Easter! 🌺
I make a 7up jello salad! My recipe is different then yours. I use either raspberry jello or black cherry whichever our local grocery store has. Boiling water reduced down from the directions on the box. Then I add 7up allow to thicken then I add a can of crushed sweetened pineapple and then crushed walnut! Stir good and allow to finish sitting up! I always double this recipe! It’s delicious! I got the recipe from my oldest sister and I think of her every time I make it. Unfortunately we lost her at the age of 61!
I am from Pa and have had whoopee pies but we call them gobs. Every flavor is so good. Loved your video and prayers for you during this season of loss.
We are Catholic and we were brought up eating that way!!! I love to do pot roasts in the crockpot though so much easier to do it all in one!! Potato’s carrots and onions for taste!! Oh and of course some spices. They make crockpot packets but not a big fan so much salt rather do my own spices
I am originally from Southern Ohio where Lynette Yoder is from. We love the Amish and Mennonite Whoopie Pies. Every time we go back to Ohio we have to go get some. So, I immediately went and made these after watching you. The batter is soooo delicious. Thank you for sharing. I am waiting for them to cool before making the cream.
What memories whoppie pies brings. I also grew up on a farm in Lanc. Co. I've made so many of them. Yum!! Love the vlogs where you include your adorable kids!!! Blessings to you & your family!!
Your grandmother sounds nearly identical to mine. She lived to be 91 years old. She taught be so many important life lessons. She was first and foremost a godly woman, but secondly she was the hardest working woman I ever knew. Like yours, she seldom sat down,, except when she was doing some sort of handwork--she was always busy. Nearly all my memories of her were in the kitchen--either her own or whatever other building she was in. While the rest of the family would be playing board games after supper, she would still be doing things in the kitchen, or the laundry room, for hours. She was the head cook for church camps and any other group meals. After her kids were grown and gone she worked part time jobs in restaurants well into her 70s so she could have money to give to missions. She was my mentor and counselor. She was known by most everybody as Grandma Babe. Although she didn't attend high school or have a college education, she was the smartest woman around.. Whenever anyone had a question on how to do something, or if they were sick, they called Grandma Babe because she was a wealth of information. And if she didn't know the answer she could be counted upon to take it to the Lord for guidance and intervention. She's been gone for 18 years now, but there's seldom a week goes by that I don't think of her and ask the Lord to help me be the kind of woman she was. Often when someone coaxes me to come sit down after the church potluck, or after a family meal, I think of my grandmother and now understand the sense of fulfillment she got in serving others. What a blessing to have such a godly heritage, Megan! We are blessed! As for whoopie pies, the first ones I ever made were your waffle ones a few years ago. I made them for my Sunday School class of young adults and they were a BIG hit! I was raised in the Pacific Northwest. They weren't a "thing" out there. :-)

What a beautiful tribute to your grandmother! I’m so sorry for your loss.
Sorry about your Grandma! Thankful
she is in Heaven.
I’m so sorry to hear your grandma passed . I’m glad you have the peace of knowing she lived a good life and is with the Lord .
Sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother. Sounds like a truly wonderful woman. May she rest in peace. 🙏
Megan I’m so sorry about your grandmother… it’s so sad to lose our loved ones!❤️
I ate my first ever whoopie pie years ago in Honduras, yes, there is a mennonite community near the capital and they make whoopie pies!
I chuckled when I saw your gravy boat. We did the same thing throughout our kids’ growing up years with gravy at the table.
Thank you for sharing your DITL. Your baby is adorable. Looks just like you!
I'm so sorry for your loss...great memories are the best....you are such a calm loving mommy and wife....GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ...
Grandma’s are the best and I loved listening to your stories about her 💛. Strong women 💪🏼. Those Whoopie pies look AMAAAAZING!!’n
I have had many Whoopie pies. My favorite is Chocolate. I made so many one year I thought I would turning to one. My kids favorite !
I am so sorry for your loss, Megan. Thank you for sharing all your recipes.
I am so very sorry for your loss. Your Grandma sounded like a very special lady.
I’m sorry you lost your grandma, she sounds wonderful. Praying for Gods comfort and strength for you and your family.
In my PA hometown of Johnstown Whoopie Pies are called Gobs. I guess it refers to the gobs of delicious icing in the middle. You were blessed to have a loving Grandma to inspire and be proud your own hard work. May God rest her Soul.
So sorry for your loss Megan. Much love and prayers to you and your family
Whoopie pies are also a thing in New Hampshire where I grew up. My next shipment of ButcherBox comes next week.
Thank you for your creativity & content that you show your viewers.
I'm so sorry to hear about your grandma💗
Wow 90 years old, that's wonderful!
Our classical Sunday lunch fav- mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and roast!
🤗 I’m so sorry about your Grandmother Megan, she sounded like a very special lady.
The supper looked delicious! Thank you for sharing. Take care.
Whoop pie..
Oatmeal with vanilla creme filling..
Made by an Amish lady I know as a thank you gift.
It is an awesome good gift
Love Whoopie pies! I am also a Lancaster County girl and used to work in a bakery through college. We made whoopie pies every morning to have out and ready for the men who came into the diner after milking or on the way to work. My favorite is definitely chocolate with PB icing!
Prayers Meagan. I’ll be praying for you and your family thru this difficult time.
I grew up on Whoopie pies, I was raised in the mountains of Tennessee. ☺️
Sorry for your loss! God Bless your Family
Yes! I went to college about 45 min from Holmes county. They served Whoopi’s pies in the cafeteria.
Sorry for your loss praying peace and comfort over all your family and community God's blessings to you
