He Shatner-ed the hell out of that story :)
Ahaha! I was just thinking the same thing!!
Tau Ceti
:)
+T1000 Android Shatner was seventeen when this was published.
T1000 Android you are so right
Can't handle Shatner, sorry. Its too much for pure audio.
This story is so good.
I couldn't listen for laughing, William shatner meets Stephen hawking. I was waiting for him to tell me to go to checkout number 9 please.
Interesting story. The ending is very Asimov/Twilight Zone-esque.
Thanks to the narrator for taking the time to read the story for us.
Haha awesome ending. The last minute of the story was the best. The reader also did a great job 👍
Such a melancholy ending...
A wonderful story...
Tear jerking ending...
But funny...
great story and excellent reading
I love that twist!
thank you
Damn that was great. The non-descriptive writing throughout the entire story really kept up the feeling until the twist, very good.
Hell of a good story I love the ending
Yeah, I'll have to buy and read this one myself.
Wait, that is not a computer reading it?
Great ending
Whats with the reader? Is he hoping to get a job in the satnav industry ? DX
Terrific naration.
Sarcasm?
Slim and Red 😉
Nice, but saw the ending coming almost from the beginning. Obviously one of his earlier efforts.
@Shane Rudeen . Yes, I figured something like that was up with the hidden names.

very good as usual...sad thing is they both (Asimov and Hawking) found out the truth too late...
This reader (Gregg Margarite, I think) is wonderful!!!
Alright, 11 minutes in, gonna call it now that the animals in the cage are people and the thunder sound was a landing rocket.
Edit: Fuckn' spot on, I was.

...I think I'll read the book instead. Something's wrong with your mind.
I had no problem with the reader. Enjoyed the story. Nothing really interesting in the comments. Don't bother
its definitely a cadence that is Shatner like, or at an auto-read like pace. I'm glad he read it. but please try not to...read...like...Captain...Kirk...or ...i...will...order...food...like...this for you...but...that...food...will be poisoned.
Nope. NO NONO NO NO!!! THIS READER MAKES ME DOUBT MY SANITY!!! AND, he obviously reads like this on purpose. His inflections and sentence meter are just random. It’s like after his first go, someone said, “OK, but you’r voice has to go up and down in pitch, and you have to put slight pauses in for timing” and he’s followed their advice without attention to the text.
AAaaaargh!!! He’s ruined my potential enjoyment of SO many audiobooks.
It blows my mind when I see good reviews of this particular narrator. He really makes any story hard to listen too.
PREF-erably
Read by a robot
This is the kind of narration that grates on my ears and nerves barely allowing a good story to be heard. Would've down thumbed it but for the words themselves. This narrator has read many books and I have them all grouped under FAILED!

Weird reader
What's with the appalling Capt kirk impersonation. Reader needn't emphasise every word, just the important ones nouns etc...
He always reads like that. He is great compared to some of the other readers doing it for free. It's not bad if the story is on the lighter, humorous side. Not so good for a serious, cliffhanging thriller.
It's a voice syntisiser.
It's terrible. You're just being nice.
I'll look for another reading. I guess he is doing his best 🤷
That awful voice!! Make it stop, please please, make it stop@&%$
This reader has irritating. Mannerism
narrator is unlistenable...
I found the reader's style of speech unlistenable.
This guy is a really terrible reader.
