    Possible spoilers:
The first twist was super obvious but I'm glad they had the secondary twist, which may have also been guessed at by many but still gave the story a little more depth.

Great narration , one of my top 3 favorite readers that add the 1950's era quality to the reading , nice inflections spot on time .

Oh man! I spotted that picture by fluke in the thumbnail, off in YT suggestion sidebar, where I saw it first in Relic Radio's Science Fiction section a while back and spent fruitless hours trying to track down where that picture came from. Now I know.

The parables are insanely close to the global empire being built as we speak , the loss of basic constitutional rights , being arrested & held for no reason , constitution torn to shreds , the all seeing eye of the central scrutinizer watching & listening but we never know where .

To be fair, that is nothing new. This has been happening since the dawn of man. We live in the safest, most free times in history though.
This isn't t say that things are great, but things are getting better. People just need to be willing to stand up for what they believe in and stand united against tyranny.

Lance Blegen *"People just need to be willing to stand up for what they believe in and stand united against tyranny."*
Hahaha! They won't. The United States is the new Nazi empire, and _has been_ for 16 years. It has a propaganda machine that masquerades as news, it does false flags on it's own civilian population, and lies about the motivations for all of it's wars.
The US was in Syria to remove Assad from power. They wanted to give the Golan Heights to Israel so Genie Energy could mine it's oil. Genie Energy has an on it's strategic board of directors a bunch of ex government officials and a very influential propagandist.
Things aren't getting better, they're getting worse. The Nazis had their little boom time economy, but by 1950, the nation was destroyed, and remained that way for 1/2 century. The same will happen with the US, with it's ignorant populace, or maybe it's populace is just plain morally bankrupt. Hard to know at this point.
