Borders Lake Michigan not borders the Great Lakes. Michigan, Illinois, Indiana border Lake Michigan, and Michigan and Wisconsin were already on the board so the only answer was Indiana
RIP to the midwestern folks watching these guys on that one
@@chad5483 Pretty much. Even at the end, Jimmy's like "they both touch it".
When they got stuck on that one I wanted to play the game myself because I just wanted to see the end lol.
I hope Chris Rose isn’t watching.
Edit: or Jose Ramirez for that matter…
@@mattmccarthymusic Fear J-Ram
Oh Boy, Jimmy completely locked in that Ohio borders Lake Michigan (even after looking at a map) is hair pulling time.
He really had it in his mind that ohio and indiana had swapped locations
@@ExileOnDaytonStreet Don't they do that sometimes?
shameful
oh my god he said "they both touch it" after looking at a map jesus christ
I think he got it in his head that it was all great lakes for whatever reason, and didn't deviate from that logic even when looking at the map
My last Jomboy and Jake puzzle video was long enough ago I forgot how unpleasant it is to watch them struggle.
Side note: 11:00 If the Brewers ever win a World Series, I need to see a WINsconsin t-shirt on your website.
Sitting in my Northeast Ohio office trying to talk Jimmy off of Ohio, knowing he is going to type it...still loved every second of Sporcle
looks at a map and still thinks Ohio is on Lake Michigan lol
100x times harder to watch this than geoguessr
Especially as someone with an enormous U.S. map on the wall at the foot of my bed for the last 20+ years and a general obsession with geography my entire life.
Hate geoguessr same dumb shit everytime
This video has convinced me to make sure I explain what I mean by “along a diagonal” when I teach linear algebra
Poor Jake. Had South Dakota and South Carolina figured out but no one would listen to him.
The resigned anticipation with how Jomboy said, "Comment below" at the end was gorgeous.
If he asks, we'll give it to him.
You didn't fail us Jim, keep doing challenging logic puzzles like these. It's super fun hearing you and the boys talk it out and piece it together! Great vid
he failed me by thinking Ohio borders lake Michigan tbh
The washington answer with no hesitation from Jimmy, love it
Who else was screaming INDIANA!! Not OHIO!!
Jake is like that guy who can’t understand that a kilogram of feathers is the same weight as a kilogram of steel
Ohio touches Lake Erie, not Lake Michigan
Jimmy and Jake horse carriage ride would be an all-timer.
with flowers
For the final 5 minutes, I was screaming Indiana at my screen. That was devastating to watch
The killer here is that not all answers that fit ARE the answer (Example: Both Vermont & North Dakota are in-between NY and Washington spelling wise, but they both can't be there) so it's not just coming up with correct logical answers, but narrowing them down. Watching the boys contend with this has been fantastic.
I watched pretty carefully, and I'm PRETTY sure it's 100% deterministic. You maybe need multiple clues for certain squares, but to use that one as an example, the clues about both Dakotas being in the same column, everything in row 1 bordering Canada, and row 1 being in reverse alphabetical order, tells you that that one HAD to be North Dakota.
Vermont doesn't work, unless they changed the name to Vermont Dakota without anyone noticing.
Ohio doesn't border Lake Michigan. So that clue was a lock. They had that one early on. It would have unlocked Vermont with the Capital. So Vermont would have been off the board so it could only be North Dakota.
@@JustOneAsbestoAt the point where they guessed Vermont I don't think they had enough information to know for sure it was North Dakota. The Dakotas could have been anywhere on column B. They needed to figure out the Indiana one first to eliminate Vermont. They just kind of guessed it without remembering North Dakota. This is 100% deterministic though. No guessing needed
The thing you missed was geography!
All you missed was the clue specifically said “Lake Michigan” not the Great Lakes. And only four states border Lake Michigan and Ohio isn’t one of them.
Does anyone in the comments know if Ohio borders Lake Michigan?
I think it's on the Hudson River. 😉
@@MikeP2055 Mississippi. The Hoover Dam is at Niagara Falls, right?
Is anyone else bothered that Virginia is in Column A but also does not border the Pacific?
Wow. Not knowing how a diagonal works. Woof.
The order of the most populous was the order in which they joined the union: California (1788), Florida (March 1845), Texas (December 1845), California (1850).
*NY
19:05 jake is locked in. Need to listen to him!
Only one of the great lakes is Lake Michigan, and it is not the one near Ohio.
Definitely read great lakes and not just lake michigan.
@JomboyJakeTV we actually want your drafts back in rotation
You guys should do an Oregon Trail episode
Michigan not only borders Canada, but Detriot is famously directly *north* of Windsor, Ontario.
That was irrelevant as Michigan was already on the board.
It also amused me that Jomboy thought that New York was the most populous state. That suggests he doesn't pay attention to presidential elections and the Electoral College. California has almost exactly twice the population of New York. Texas is more than 50% more populous. New York was 3rd for the 2010 Census, but Florida has since opened a 2.5 million person gap on them.
I will never understand how “shares a diagonal” caused jimmy to think it was C3, which was 2 squares above Illinois lol
I didn’t get the shares a diagnosable hint in general because Massachusetts didn’t end up sharing a diagonal with Illinois
Yes it did. Sharing a diagonal means on the same diagonal line. F2(Mass), E3, D4, C5(Illinois) is a diagonal.
I think Jimmy thought that it meant they have a space immediately bordering diagonally that is shared. Which would mean he thought Mass was in A3, A5, C3, (all border B4) E3, or E5 (border D4). Obviously he is wrong, and I was yelling at him through the screen.
I was on pins and needles waiting for them to get Maine much earlier than they did
I'm from northwest indiana. Nastiest steel mill water ever... except in Michigan City, which despite its name is also in Indiana.
"Shares a diagonal" is some kind of bologna.
Yes Ohio and Indiana both touch a Great Lake but Lake Michigan is the side of Michigan with Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois, Ohio is touching the other lakes. So the only logical answer was Indiana. I’ve lived in Michigan all my life so I was definitely screaming not Ohio
I don’t know if anyone has told you this already but Ohio doesn’t border Lake Michigan.
Indiana to the right of Ohio? What?
New York baseball people, not geography people lol
Indiana was the correct answer, Ohio boarders lake Erie. Lake Michigan is only bordered by Wis, Ind, Mich, and Ill.
Ohio touches Lake Erie, not Lake Michigan. Indiana was the only option.
Also at the end there you were missing out on the clue "The only island state is in row 3." Hawaii, obviously. I think you actually got that one in an early game.
And "All states that start with the word 'New' are in this quiz." You already had New Hampshire and New Jersey, which only leaves New Mexico for B5.
What’s relevant about the Hawaii clue?
@@matthewneild Oh, it doesn't help anything else, but it's pretty obvious what "the island state is" when you already have Rhode Island filled in; and they were like "we have no clues for these last 3"
@@JustOneAsbesto they also had Hawaii already in A3
@@matthewneild Goddamnit, you're right. Do I have to watch the whole video over again?
For the record, Ohio does not touch Lake Michigan at all.
Midwesteners know Ohio started lake Erie on fire
Not remembering the Rhode Island clue slowed them way down.
Was thinking the same thing...E5...:/
Wtf was Jimmy saying about Massachusetts??
This was endlessly frustrating to watch 😂
ohio does not touch lake michigan lol be fr
Jimmys why don’t u guys catch the fckup was priceless. He was 3 thoughts ahead of everyone. Everyone questions him and they’re all the idiot not him. Awesome instant comeback Jimbo
26:56 Ohio doesn't touch Lake Michigan
Ohio touches Lake Erie not Lake Michigan
Love your videos !! Had a very entertaining yet frustrating time watching you lock in Ohio - I’m in New Zealand but knew it was Indiana 😬
I got it wrong on the exact same spot with the 'diagonal' clue. Very annoying and unclear clue in my opinion. Oh well. Nice video, would like to see more!
it's the same way they give clues in every sporcle logic puzzle
@@johnkredit9072 could be. I don’t play them that often. But will keep in mind for the future, thanks

Hey can anyone help me with figuring out what headset and mics they are using? I'm trying to get into radio broadcasting and I'm trying to find a nice headset. Thanks!
How does virginia border the pacific
As a Hoosier that one hurt
I don’t know if this is cheating but you could guess every state that borders Canada and answer it for every box in row 1 and get the whole row off jump street
4:08 Can you guys please bankroll a new series of Ernest movies where Jake plays Ernest.
If anyone complains they took a picture I’ll knock you out like Tim Anderson
it took me an hour and about 7 wrong answers but i finally completed it.
Bro this is painful to watch lol
You will never have to guess on these. It's all logic
Ohio doesn't border Michigan contrary to your belief
These are painful
hard one
Ohio only touches Lake Erie :/
Am i going insane or is Nevada not in this quiz
It's a 6 by 5 field. Only 30 states are named. 20 states are missing.
we love the sporcle vids
I still dont know what Jim's logic was for "shares a diagonal". Think you learn that in 1st grade
He was thinking Massachusetts and Illinois are both diagonally adjacent to the same square
Ohio doesn't border Lake Michigan
Ohio does not border lake michigan
This was fun
Ohio doesn't touch Lake Michigan.
The only island state is in Row 3 so D3 was Hawaii
Edit: i was wrong 🤷
The Rhode Island controversy begins.
D3 was Vermont
OHIO DOESN'T TOUCH LAKE MICHIGAN!
NORTH DAKOTA !
I love these guys and these videos, but I often wonder if Jim just acts dumb or if he’s really just not that bright. This is probably one of the easiest logic puzzles on the website and I’ve never been more mad watching them trying and talking over each other
It blows me away how coastal folks just don’t know the Midwest at all.
Me screaming North Dakota for B5 after you filled in South Dakota toward the end.
I got screwed by the Massachusetts diagonal too.
The Red Sox clue is so bad. It tripped me up the first time then I put it away until I realized they were going bishop rules not adjacency
I don't think "shares a diagonal" is that confusing, so I'm curious how those GGGs are interpreting it.
Yeah, it's actually painful for me watching them spend almost two straight minutes to still not figure out that F2 also shares a diagonal with C5 (just the opposite diagonal from B4). Also, MA isn't even in the top 10 for population so it can't be in the C column.
At first I wasn’t sure if it meant they were diagonally touching or just in line diagonally in general. It was the latter but enough to give me pause. I at least wasn’t confused as to what “diagonal” means though haha.
Not realizing the big states were in reverse order by population was frustrating 😂
First?
Its like a bad version of the Yak
