  • Maryland Gov. Wes Moore is meeting Wednesday in Washington with key members of Congress to discuss funding for the replacement of the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge. President Joe Biden made a pledge during a tour of the wreckage site last month that the federal government would cover the rebuilding costs. Under current law, the federal government will pay 100% of the rebuild cost if the project is underway within 270 days of the disaster. That puts the deadline around Dec. 21. If that deadline isn't met, the cost-share split is 90% federal and 10% from the state.
